My wife suffers from dementia and epilepsy. She has been at Sovereign Lodge for three months. The staff are friendly, helpful, courteous and kind to both patients and visitors. The accommodation and care provided are of good quality, caring and efficient. I would recommend this establishment to friends.

My experience with Sovereign Lodge has been very good. My mum seems happy with her surroundings and the staff, and the staff are always friendly and helpful to the family. We recently had to move my mum into the home permanently, and the manager was very accommodating letting us bring in her personal
bits to make her room more homely. I feel that everyone has the residents as their number one priority. Well done to all.

Staff so welcoming and friendly! Supportive and caring. Made the process of taking Mum easier, having had a horrendous experience elsewhere.
The manager was amazing in helping us get Mum transferred, and Mum's nurse was reassuring and took ‘the weight off my shoulders!

My mum moved into Sovereign Lodge in December, and she has settled well after having been really poorly in hospital. I have met a number of staff who have been welcoming, friendly and cheerful. Mum keeps saying she is safe here and ware and doesn't;t want to move anywhere else. I believe there has been
a real answer to our prayers, that God has blessed my mum by providing such a beautiful home with beautiful carers.

I'm extremely grateful to the Sovereign Lodge team for the excellent standard of care given to my grandfather in his final weeks. The standard of care given to Mum was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They treated Mum as if she was a relative. The home was spotlessly clean and tidy. I would highly recommend this care home.

It is very hard when you need to look for a home for your parent. You read hundreds of reviews, look at countless pictures and daily activity plans. After going through this for my father, I would say Sovereign Lodges team genuinely care.
My father has been there since May 2021. We have had countless
changes to rules. The team have adapted and made it possible for me and my family to stay connected to my father.
So, if you are looking for a place where the team care and work really hard to help you stay connected, then this is a great place to start.

Dad was a resident at Sovereign Lodge for nearly two and half years until he passed away on 12 December 2021, aged 80. During his residency, the care he received was outstanding. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, and the manager of the care home has always been friendly, helpful and supportive.
Even when my brother and I were unable to visit as regularly as before during the Covid restrictions, we always knew that we didn’t have to worry about Dad’s care and that he was in the best possible hands. During the last days of his life, we were always contacted whenever they felt we should be there, and the attention, dignity and compassion shown was amazing. We are so pleased that Dad’s last days were at Sovereign Lodge - I don’t think he would have received better care anywhere else, and we cannot thank the manager and her team enough for making those last days of his life as comfortable as possible. They do an unbelievable job and have our eternal gratitude.

A well organised, clean and welcoming care home. The staff are efficient, hardworking and caring. They liaise well with outside bodies such as GP's and social services departments. Relatives are kept well informed of their resident's welfare and are treated with kindness and courtesy.

My mother, who had vascular dementia, was a resident at Sovereign Lodge for over two years. Mum died on 28th September 2021. During Mums residency, her care from the specialist nurses and care staff helped to ensure her well-being, safety and personal health was always very good.
Both the nurses, care
staff and management always made it possible to visit, be with Mum, at any time, other than the Covid-19 restrictions.
Most importantly, in the last days of her life, and at the time of her death, the nurses contacted me to ensure I was with Mum whenever they felt I should be there. And in particular, in her last few hours/moments.
The above care has made it possible for me to grieve appropriately and know Mum always had the best care possible.
My sincere gratitude goes to all the care staff who cared, made Mums, the management whose management practices ensured all her medical and personal needs were always attended to such a high standard.

My father, who was 92, was looked after by all the professional staff at Sovereign Lodge with such kindness and care, we couldn't have asked for more. Sadly my father passed away last month, but right up until the end, everyone treated him and our family with such compassion. My father had dementia
and sadly deteriorated with this terrible disease, but the staff kept his spirits up with such care and kept us as a family very well informed. I cannot recommend the care home highly enough. Thank you all so much.

My father, who was 92, was taken into the care of Sovereign Lodge in March 2021. This was after having had a few weeks of respite care as my mother, who is 91, very reluctantly had to face the fact that she could no longer care for him due to his worsening dementia. My father was treated with the utmost
care, kindness, patience and respect from his arrival at Sovereign Lodge until he sadly died recently. As a family, we cannot thank all of the staff enough for the amazing way they cared for my father and indeed ourselves. We were always kept informed and bearing in mind Covid, which made visits etc more complicated; we couldn't have asked for more.

The staff at Sovereign Lodge are totally wonderful and truly professional. My mother was a resident for six years, and my father for the last 14-months. They were both treated with absolute respect and care. My mother sadly passed away at the end of February this year, and my father has now returned
home. Members of staff have phoned him to check how he's doing and to say they will keep in touch.


My mother was in very poor health and had severe dementia, and the care she received was faultless.


My sister and I were kept totally up to date with her care and how both my father and mother were coping.


I cannot recommend the care home highly enough.

My elderly mother recently spent a few weeks at Sovereign Lodge as part of a respite care package after she left the Conquest Hospital in Hastings. As she had never been in a care home before our family did not know what to expect but were delighted to find that she received excellent and very professional
care at Sovereign Lodge. She had to spend a couple of weeks in isolation, not leaving her room after arriving as per Covid restrictions, which was difficult for her, but the staff were very kind and attentive and really looked after her. We were also pleased to find that at a time when visiting was not possible, communication with the home was very good. Before my mother was admitted I was phoned by the manager and we had a long and detailed conversation about my mother’s medical history and care needs. Subsequently, phone enquiries were always answered rapidly, things were soon followed up on and everyone we spoke to was always knowledgeable about my mother’s progress.

Our day-to-day can be challenging, but it requires commitment, motivation, and skills to make a vision into reality. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.


The best part of my working day is knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life and have helped them through a difficult situation. Knowing that a resident is satisfied with the care we provide is the greatest achievement for me at the end of the day."

I wished to be part of this growing company and be able to contribute my knowledge and skills, at the same time learning and growing with the company.


Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
The qualities I have to make me stand out are good leadership qualities, being able to communicate freely with staff. Good problem solving skills
Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping


The relationships I have formed with my colleagues and residents; it’s not just a job to me. I can honestly say in my time working here, this is my family as well as my friends
