We visited several care homes before finding one that we thought would suit our uncle. A lovely care home. He was looked after and cared for very well. All the staff, including management, reception were excellent, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Very thankful for the end-of-life care that he was
given. If I have to go to a care home, I'd be very happy to go here.

From my first enquiry and initial visit, I have been extremely impressed by everything and everybody at Sovereign Lodge. When my mother moved in, she was treated with such a warm welcome, and she settled in very well from day one. It feels as though everyone is working together to make a very happy
home. The management team, nursing team, care staff, activity organisers, office and reception team, catering staff, cleaners and maintenance staff are all extremely kind and caring. They are very knowledgeable and considerate of the resident's needs. The nursing care is exceptional, and I feel that all staff have an excellent understanding of the elderly and od dementia. There are numerous activities every day, all very good. The food looks delicious and birthdays are always celebrated with cake! All in all, Sovereign Lodge is a really well-run, caring home. Thank you, everyone.

After searching for a care home for our uncle in Eastbourne (as living in London) - we were delighted that he was accepted and welcomed to Sovereign Lodge - and felt immense relief that he was being cared for after being in hospital for eight weeks suffering from dementia and unable to look after himself
after suffering a fall with a replacement hip. From the moment I walked in to view, it was so welcoming, light and bright with a spacious outdoor garden area, friendly staff and a lovely dining area.
All the carers, nurses, activity managers and admin staff are wonderful. They always kept us updated on our uncle's situation as living so far away - which helped tremendously and so welcoming to us when visiting, including invitations to the activities and family events to participate in.
Sovereign Lodge cared for my uncle with great kindness looking after all his needs; he always looked smart and well-groomed, and very grateful to Sovereign Lodge that his end-of-life care needs treated with the utmost dignity.

Since Mum has been here, the care she has had has been outstanding. I am always told if anything is wrong, and I know with the care she is given, I never have to worry as I know she is safe and well looked after. Mum's room is always clean and tidy, and the staff are so lovely and welcoming.

The care, thoughtfulness, friendliness and dedication of all the staff at Sovereign Lodge were simply outstanding. I couldn't have wished for anything more for Mum or me as a regular visitor, especially in her final days. Nothing was too much trouble.
The whole team should be very proud of what they
do and the caring, friendly, welcoming and supportive culture that they have created. Simply first class and something that you can not put a price on.

Very caring staff, especially during end-of-life care, when facilities were provided for myself and my daughter to stay with my husband for 24 hours a day. Good activities are provided for the more able residents, and some stimulus is provided for the bed bound. Generally, a welcoming, caring staff
group, working within a clean and outward-looking environment.

From our first visit to Sovereign Lodge, we were very impressed. We were reassured from the very start. Our dad was accepted quickly and moved in without any problems. Staff have been exceptional, consistent, kind and beyond attentive to him and us as we all transition in what is a very daunting, worrying
and emotional time. It's now one week, and we have no concerns whatsoever. It's actually the best move we have made for my dad.

The care of our mother was second to none. She came to Sovereign Lodge from the hospital with advanced vascular dementia and a broken hip. All the carers, nurses, activity managers and senior staff have been amazing. They treated her with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect whilst maintaining

My husband was only in Sovereign Lodge for three weeks. While there, he was treated very well, and once he got used to being there was quite happy. They didn't have many activities for the first two weeks due to Covid, but he took part in them in the third week. We found our family were made very welcome
when we visited, and there was a nice atmosphere in the home.

I have not been able to fault the care given from the marking of laundry to the boundless energy of the activity organiser - great. A great improvement over my mother's previous care provider. Sovereign Lodge is not stuffy and it does not smell of wee!

Been here only two and a half weeks but first impressions, were warm and welcoming but the house and accommodation wanted to move quickly and this was facilitated by all staff. The previous house was understaffed and undertrained but did their best but a very noisy place. The lodge is very much quieter
and I feel more secure. Allowed to manage tablets and medicines - a great help. Encouraged to be as independent as is safe.

Mum was here under discharge to assess for approx six weeks. During her stay, the family felt that the quality of care she received was compassionate and caring. If there were any minor issues, they were dealt with promptly. The home has a very welcoming feel to it and, overall, is an example of how
a home should be.
(Funding through NHS, and no facilities used as Mum is bedridden).

My mother returned to the home after a spell in hospital on "end-of-life care" - unfortunately, she passed away today. The staff treated us with care and empathy. The nursery staff were excellent, and the manageress was excellent.
We have noticed the atmosphere in the home has changed considerably
since the new manageress has been there.

The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.


I look forward to working with my colleagues who are a bunch of happy and energetic people. Meeting and greeting residents and relatives. Being productive at work – being able to accomplish all tasks given

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents

Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping
