The staff have been amazing with my mum. After two hospital stays they have got her back to a good level. Staff are so attentive and 'on the ball' with all Mum's needs. I now know she is safe and very well looked after. I finally have peace of mind.

Dad was as happy as he could be anywhere. Most of the staff were excellent, treating Daf with dignity, and they really cared about him, so we were very satisfied. Office staff were lovely too. Dad could be very difficult at times, which made it difficult for staff to help him on occasions; he wouldn't
be helped or let them in his room, which is why some scores are good rather than excellent. I feel that having a chart in residents' rooms to note their likes, foodwise, and interests would help the staff familiarise themselves with particular needs to offer the best experience.

My father was only in Sovereign Lodge for a week until his passing, having been discharged to their care following a short critical illness stay in hospital. We cannot emphasise the care and kindness that everyone at Sovereign Lodge extended to both my dad and to us, his family.

Sovereign Lodge has been magnificent in their care of my husband up to the point when he died in November. All the staff were wonderful, but my personal praise goes to the Nurse. She made certain that all family members were aware of what was happening, speaking to each of them to ensure that they all
knew the situation as his condition deteriorated and to ensure that everyone was on the same page throughout. Her warmth and care helped me to get through a difficult time, and she oversaw his final days. I shall always be eternally grateful to her and all the staff for their support during this very stressful time.

Although my mother was only a resident for six days, she was treated well and cared for. We were always welcomed by all staff and offered refreshments.
We thank all the lovely staff for everything they did to make Mum's final days peaceful and calm, particularly the two staff who were so gentle and
thorough with their care on the night she became ill.

My wife was transferred to Sovereign Lodge at the beginning of September 2023. Unfortunately, my wife was bed-bound but from the moment she arrived, she was cared for with compassion and dignity. My wife was always kept clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, everything ran very
smoothly. I used to go in twice a day to help feed her as she was unable to do anything for herself, and the staff were always available to advise and help if needed.
My wife was in Sovereign Lodge for almost 4 months and the treatment she received was second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home.
The room was a little tired and perhaps some decorating was needed, but I guess with a continual throughput of residents it is difficult to find time to decorate.

My stepfather-in-law was admitted to the Home in August 2023, having previously spent two years in a care home. He suffered from severe dementia and was not expected to live for long.
I am very impressed with the care he received throughout the remaining five months of his life, and would strongly
commend the staff for their dedication to residents.

Sovereign Lodge cared for Mum while we found a placement nearer home. During her stay, Mum received excellent care. She perked up so much and enjoyed her stay. All the staff are so caring and helpful.

There is always a welcome when you arrive. The nurses are always ready to answer any questions and give a review of the patient. The person I see is happy there and content with everything. I leave feeling happy knowing that the person I visit is content with her life.

My husband was admitted a month ago. All the staff have been very kind and attentive, Nurses very patient, which can’t be easy when you have a good number of residents. Entertainment is great, the activities girls are full of energy , fun, and helpfulness to all residents. There is plenty to stimulate
residents if they wish to participate.
. Food is very good , no one would go hungry , and interestingly, my husband who can be choosy about what he will eat, is thoroughly enjoying his meals and eating things he wouldn’t normally go for at home !
Thoroughly recommend Sovereign Lodge as a well run , caring Home .

My wife has been in Sovereign Lodge for just over six weeks having settled in well from day one. What I thought would be a traumatic time for both of us proved to be much easier due to the devotion of the staff and the caring environment they provide. She often expresses how happy she is and how much
she enjoys being there. I am continually amazed at the dedication of the staff and the loving and caring attitude they have towards the residents and although it is a very relaxed environment at Sovereign Lodge, this is not at the expense of the efficiency and effectiveness. Overall, there is really nothing not to like. The food is good, the place is kept spotless and above all the staff are fantastic in providing a safe, loving and very often fun environment for the residents to live in. We both feel so lucky that Sovereign Lodge was suggested to us. It has been a good choice and would strongly recommend it to anyone seeking care for a loved one in this area.

I have found Sovereign Lodge to be a very friendly place, always a lovely welcome when I visit my husband (which is most days), nothing is too much trouble for the care workers. My mother has been with Sovereign Lodge since January 2022 and you have made her so happy with all the entertainment you have and parties. All the staff are so kind, caring and helpful which is reassuring. My mother and father celebrated last September their 70th wedding anniversary at Sovereign Lodge
with a party for family and special friends and it was lovely. Your staff made it all worthwhile for us. Many thanks for keeping Mum safe, much appreciated.

My aunt was placed here in an assessment bed from hospital. Every single member of the team that we encountered were all so helpful, caring and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sovereign Lodge, I just wish it was nearer to us so that my aunt could have stayed longer.

My wife arrived at Sovereign Lodge a week ago today. Previously she has been at a hospital for six weeks after having a partial hip replacement. She has mild dementia and walking problems but has settled in to her new environment very well. I am quite relieved at the care she has received. The staff
and health care assistants are all wonderful - totally dedicated to their work.

Mum was placed here in an assessment bed, as I was no longer able to give Mum the care she needed (palliative) after being in the hospital for two months.
Sovereign Lodge provided excellent care for Mum's one-month stay, which really took the pressure off me. All the staff were professional, caring,
polite and extremely respectful. The fact that visiting Mum was unrestricted, all hours, night and day, meant that visitors could decide their own times. Thank you so much for being able to care for Mum during her final weeks.

I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.

I wished to be part of this growing company and be able to contribute my knowledge and skills, at the same time learning and growing with the company.


Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
The qualities I have to make me stand out are good leadership qualities, being able to communicate freely with staff. Good problem solving skills
Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping


The relationships I have formed with my colleagues and residents; it’s not just a job to me. I can honestly say in my time working here, this is my family as well as my friends
