Woodside Hall Nursing Homes a fantastic independently owned nursing home located between the two small towns of Hailsham and Polegate in East Sussex and only a short drive from coast of Eastbourne.

Woodside Hall Nursing Home has been awarded Gold Standards Accreditation. All of the team at Woodside Hall have embedded GSF Principles and integrated them to fit the needs and care of residents so deeply for. This accreditation demonstrates the level of care and passion in ensuring residents needs and wishes are met when it matters most. Kindness, compassion and sheer love for all.

The care home is set in four acres of private gardens and woodland. The beautiful grounds which surround the nursing home make it a lovely, peaceful and tranquil place.

Residents can enjoy a visit to the hairdressers, regular visits from the Chiropodist and nutritional home made meals using fresh locally sourced produce. Residents can also benefit from visits from the loving and friendly registered K9 Concern Dog called Tilly.

At Woodside Hall, the friendly atmosphere ensures that everyone continues their daily life with personal privacy and dignity. Friends, relatives and guests are always welcome.

Woodside Hall is served by local General Practitioner on a weekly ward round.

The home is managed by a Director & Registered Manager who has been running the home for the past 26 years. On top of having extremely high standards when it comes to care, the manager also strives to make time for residents. The team also consists of highly trained staff including senior nurse, Registered Nurses, Head of Care, Care Assistants, Domestic/Maintenance Team, Chefs and Admin & an Activity Team, who each provide 24-hour support in a professional and caring way.

This was our first Christmas with Mum in care and the staff and residents went out of their way to make Dad welcome to Christmas Day Dinner with Mum. Yes Christmas was different this year but it was made far easier by the lovely staff if Woodside Hall.

My dad is well cared for here. He is as happy as he can be in his stage of life. Always has company and is well fed. I get regular updates on his health and mental state and never worry about him since he has been in Woodside. All the staff seem happy and friendly and the place is always clean, without
the smell I have encountered in other care homes I've visited. I'm happy that he's in the best place to suit his needs

Prior to moving Dad from hospital into a nursing home, I visited Woodside Hall and was pleasantly surprised by the environment and the caring and friendliness of the staffing team. Dad moved during August 2023 and settled in well, he enjoyed joining in the activities and having a good old sing-song.
He was pleased with the Japanese artwork he produced which he gave to his wife. Whilst Dad was at Woodside Hall he had his 90th Birthday which they hosted. Dad's family celebrated his big day. Dad's room looked over the garden but when this was refurbished he was moved into a more spacious room, in which he was comfortable and looked after. The care that Dad received was impeccable and we would like to express our thanks during his final moments with an amazing member of staff by his side. The whole team at Woodside, from administration/cleaners/nursing/care staff are a credit to the care sector. The grounds are amazing and we even enjoyed attending a fete which the home had arranged.

All staff welcomed and cared for Mum. They made her a part of Woodside and encouraged her to feel at home by giving her responsibilities for watering and tending the house plants. She made good friendships with other residents.

I had previously stayed at Woodside Hall and was so well looked after, when I left hospital in October I went straight to them to recuperate. Woodside is well-run, clean and attractive and all the staff are attentive and helpful. The range of food made meals a pleasure and the little snacks lovely.
My regret - I have not written a 'thank you' letter to them.

My husband has been a resident at Woodside Hall since March 2024.
I cannot be more impressed with the way this home is run, the kindness and friendliness of the staff are second to none.
He was understandably not happy to be in a care home to start with, as it is a very difficult thing to accept,
but the staff have been so kind and caring to both of us, that his transition from home to there has been so much better than it might have been. The home is kept so clean with no lingering smells that I have noticed in other homes. Today my husband said to me that he felt it was home from home which is a huge relief to me. The food is excellent! They have a very good Chef!

My father, who is 97 years old, has been a resident at Woodside Hall Nursing Home since last June.
As a family, we could not be more happier with the way my father is looked after, it's first-class!
The carers are friendly and helpful and most importantly, tend to his needs in a professional and caring
way.
The moment you walk through the doors, the environment is comfortable and clean. Fresh flowers are always in the reception area, light and airy, in a very good, decorative condition throughout.

My father has been a resident at Woodside Hall Nursing Home for just over a year and I have found the home and staff to be very welcoming and approachable. The building is very clean and tidy and the food that I have seen has been of a high standard. They offer some lovely activities and events for
both residents and relatives to attend on a weekly basis. Both medical and administrative help have been of the highest order, often going above and beyond. All the staff all the way up to the manager have been very approachable and friendly, always offering help by phone or email (and in person), especially as I have had to manage a lot at a distance. I am very happy with the care he is receiving.
My mother was also at Woodside for nearly three years before this and all the same comments applied to her time there too. She was cared for very well and I was very happy!

A warm welcome and a smile always greets me when visiting my mum at Woodside Hall Nursing Home.
Mum is very well looked after, and she is happy at the home.
It is always very clean and tidy, which makes Mum happy.
She says that the food is very good and that she enjoys the meals.
The staff are
very friendly and caring. Whatever Mum's needs or wishes are they are met well at Woodside.
From having her hair or nails cut to needing to go to the hospital for a routine appointment.
Everything is dealt with seamlessly.
It really is a home-from-home. I know that Mum is being very well looked after there.

My uncle was given less than 3 months to live and I had to quickly find a nursing home to take him. I visited first and chose Woodside Hall. I cannot fault the care he received he was always clean, tidy, and shaved, and although he was a resident for 4 weeks he was very happy there.

All though my wife was only in the home for 2 weeks to give me some respite, I can only give it the highest praise. Her room was cosy and warm. All the were very kind and considerate, the food was homemade and very good and I had lunch with her several times in the dining room. The building had a very
homely feel. If she had to go into care in the future it would be into Woodside Hall.

My mother has been in Woodside Hall Nursing Home since the beginning of December 2022. She has moved rooms because she wanted a view, they were very helpful in making this happen and she is very happy where she is. All staff are very present and going into the home, every member of staff makes you feel
very welcome. I do her hair in the hairdressing salon which she really likes. I am very happy with the care she is receiving.

Ripple bed and bedsides provided as requested. Clothes were washed and neatly pressed. Fluid intake over the week was low, noticed three cups on the table, all with small amounts taken out of each. Needs watching. In all, satisfactory stay, friendly staff. All area's clean and tidy.

A care home that doesn't smell! - This is the first test. I call it 'the smell test'.
The staff are friendly and caring.
The home seems to have a nice working atmosphere, with the staff having friendly banter with each other.

Excellent on all fronts. Clean, safe environment for the residents. Friendly caring and capable. I'd be happy to stay as a resident but I'm not quite there yet. On each occasion that I visit my friend, he is well turned out. I as a visitor am treated with great friendliness. No complaints. Coffee is

Sharon has been managing the home for the past 22 years, she is an enthusiastic Director/Registered Manager and during this time has gained a wealth of knowledge and qualifications-having had a true insight into meetings residents' needs and safety to ensure they have a good quality of life. She is able to support the needs of relatives and ensures all staff are supported in all areas.
