Woodside Hall is a lovely, friendly nursing home with fantastic, friendly, professional staff. They were fantastic in settling my elderly father into the home during very difficult COVID19 times. My father likes it here and is extremely happy. The staff know the residents very well and there has always been excellent communication with the family.

The care is very good, lovely atmosphere and all the staff are excellent. The home manager does a brilliant job keeping everything in order and up to date and is always very caring and helpful. Above all the main thing is that everyone is happy in their jobs and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Mummy has been cared for so well since day one. She is happy and loves the staff. I feel she is safe and supported, which is so important when I cannot care for her myself or be with her as I would like to be. As I have only been to one room so far, I cannot really comment on the building's facilities or cleanliness but I assume it is at least of a very good standard.

Woodside Hall cared for my mum from March, until her death in September. The care she received was exemplary, always given with kindness and professionalism. I can’t thank all the staff there enough for the time they spent making sure my mum was comfortable and well cared for. She couldn’t have been in a better place. Thanks to all.

I cannot praise all the staff at Woodside Hall enough. They cared for both my parents since December 2019 - my father until his death at the end of January and my mother until the beginning of May when she also died. Both deaths were unrelated to COVID-19. During their time at the home, they were extremely well cared for both physically and mentally as were family member visitors especially at the end of life. The precautions taken when COVID-19 hit were exemplary and resulted in the home remaining completely free of virus as far as I am aware. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

It's nice to know that Dad is in a home where he is happy, safe and comfortable. Having familiar staff that know and respond well to him is so important as is the clean, safe environment of the home. The difficult times of the pandemic have highlighted that the main concern for the home has been to protect the residents and staff and to provide as much safety for them as possible. Lockdown of the home was quick, with staff covering shifts to avoid having agency staff in and a decision not to take in untested hospital patients. These measures gave us as a family reassurance in what has been such a difficult time. We have been able to stay in contact with Dad throughout and the home is now taking measures so that we can visit in a safe, socially distanced way. The one thing that stood out for us is the thought given by individual staff who have taken in activities that they know Dad likes doing, taking him for walks outside, playing games with him in his room and having time for a chat.

My mother enjoys being at Woodside Hall. She is happy with her room and spends a lot of time in the lounge so that she can mix with other residents. Here she appreciates the activities that are on offer whether they are light physical exercise, intellectual stimulation or craft projects.

The food is good, and care is taken to provide for any special dietary requirements. Nursing staff are good at keeping relatives informed in the case of any illness. Under normal circumstances, visitors are welcomed, and now special arrangements have been made to allow safe if limited visiting.
