The food was nice and security good. Physios were very good. The room was kept nice and clean. Nice to get meals in the room. Nice to have a TV in the room. Good to have a laundry service for residents who couldn't get family to help.

The care I received was first class. All the staff were so amazing. I feel so well after staying at the home. Everyone is completely attentive to my needs and physical problems. The food is lovely and the home is spotlessly clean. I was able to go to the hairdressers and chiropodist while I was in the home. The activities were great and I enjoyed the singers coming in. I enjoyed the treats at the home, lovely cheese and biscuits for snacks, which were such a treat. Love the percolated coffee.

I could not have been in a better place for these two months of recovery and rehab. The rooms are light and well furnished. Everyone has been kind and friendly and many of the carers went beyond the call of duty with acts of loving kindness and friendship. I will always be grateful for the care and encouragement I have received here and will remember all the staff with affection.

My mother was moved to Victoria Highgrove from hospital in June, to receive rehabilitation. Unfortunately, she has considerably gone downhill. The care home have been absolutely tremendous with my mother's care.

Everything you would wish for in a care home, is offered at the Victoria Highgrove. We, as a family were always kept well informed and the staff are wonderful, very professional, friendly and caring. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the food plentiful. Our uncle was so very well looked after during his stay with them and we thank all for their care with him. Nothing was too much trouble for them at all. Thank you.

All the staff have looked after my husband very well indeed. Each carer/nurse has contributed to his care in their capacity. My husband cannot speak too highly of everyone there. He says if he ever had to go back to a care home, he would choose this one. I, as his wife, am so very pleased with the care he has received - every single person has given my husband all the care he needs and it is such a relief to me to know he is being looked after so very well.

I enjoyed excellent care here and have been made to feel most welcome. The food has been outstanding and highly nutritious and is an important element of my recovery. A couple of suggestions: It would be a nice idea to have a selection of herbal teas available and to accompany the delicious soups, bread rolls or simple slices of bread, would be good.

Reply from Paul Burns, Director at Victoria Highgrove

In my experience, Victoria Highgrove nursing home has been a blessing. The staff are kind, caring and considerate. The home has a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and I am confident that the care offered to residents is excellent. The staff are patient, especially when they have to deal with occasional "challenging" behaviour.

Mum was very happy with her stay and was made to feel very at home. Mum also got on with all the staff and made her laugh on a daily basis and regular interactions. Mum would be happy to stay again, but only if she had to. No place like home.

Everyone that worked at Victoria Highgrove, were so caring and kind. I felt so safe and looked after. I would definitely recommend this care home. I never felt lonely, as there was always someone to listen if you felt you needed to talk. I met some lovely people, who I will never forget, some who worked there and some residents, who I'm sure I will be friends with now I am back at home.

The care my father received was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have wished for anything better. When he was first admitted he was really angry because he didn't want to be there but then as time went by he settled. He loved the staff and they loved him. When it was clear that he couldn't go home he said 'well this is my home now.' He died peacefully after exceptional nursing care.
