Darlington Court is situated in the peaceful seaside town of Littlehampton. The friendly and experienced care team provides residential, dementia and nursing care for older people on a permanent or short term basis.

The purpose-built home has a large, bright dining room, stunning lounges and smaller garden rooms, ideal for relaxing and catching up with loved ones. The beautiful and secure gardens, which include a patio and lawns, are particularly popular on warmer days. Residents are welcome to help out with weeding and planting.

The activities team supports residents to continue enjoying whatever hobbies they love or to find new pursuits to enjoy. By getting to know every resident as an individual, care is tailored to their exact needs.

The last time I saw Mum was the day she arrived at Darlington Court, nearly four weeks ago. At that point she’d just spent three weeks in hospital and because of the effects of Alzheimer's disease, she was understandably confused and bewildered following the move to Darlington Court.
When we visited,
my wife and I could not believe how much Mum had improved in those four weeks; “transformed” as my wife put it!
She has clearly settled in very well and during our 30-minute visit was happy and relaxed, with no sign of the aggression we have witnessed at home in recent months.
Mum commented on how friendly everybody is – staff and residents alike – and this was apparent to us also. There was a lovely, happy atmosphere.
Mum is willingly joining in with the activities and is enjoying her food. Her hair also looked lovely.
We are grateful to all the team at Darlington Court for the wonderful care they are giving mum and for making such a difference to her quality of life.

All the staff at Darlington Court have been exemplary and have kept all residents safe from COVID so far this year. They are kind, knowledgable, professional and I have 100% confidence that they act in the best interests of my dad. Thank you, everyone!

Due to current restrictions, it is impossible to answer all questions. My friend's solicitor has Power of Attorney. However, she and I speak at least 3 times a day on the telephone. Life is not easy and we both have many problems. I know from what she tells me and from the attitude of the staff that
I speak to that she is well cared for. I have visited 3 times recently and the routine has been most efficient and the weather kind! She is (in my opinion) a fussy eater but she often tells me she has enjoyed a meal. This morning she is waiting for her hair to be washed and earlier in the week the podiatrist attended. She was very pleased with the result. I have no idea how much all this is costing her. Thank you all for being there during these difficult times.

Mother has been a resident now for nearly a year. The immediate change in her on settling in was astonishing, despite her resistance to move there, she ate better, was free from fear, isolation, no more risk of locking herself in or out. She enjoys being waited on, having her feet and hands attended
to, getting her hair done all in walking distance of her lovely big room, in which she has some of her own furniture, pictures on the wall and photographs and books. She gets her newspaper delivered every Sunday. Darlington staff are great, always welcoming, never too busy to assist, keep us informed, answer emails promptly and even enabled Mother to have a buffet lunch for a group she belonged to so they could award her a long service medal.
The building is clean and fresh, plenty of privacy and completely secure in an unobtrusive way. I am so relieved that she is safe, cared for and has company. The staff respect her wishes where possible.

I feel I'm not satisfied with my husband's care. I feel there is not enough encouragement given to his personal care. I have felt unwelcomed when sitting with my husband in the evening. I felt that I was in the way.

Staff are caring, professional, compassionate and supportive in all they do. Activities for residents are wonderful, they have something happening nearly every day and we are encouraged to join in. The manager takes time to discuss issues and answers our questions.
Mum's room is always clean and tidy
and this is reflected in all other areas we use when outside in the garden. Staff constantly monitor residents to ensure they are comfortable, shaded from strong sun and provided with frequent fluids to drink.
Mum has been a resident for seven years and is very happy and appreciates all they do to help and care for her.

My mother moved into Darlington Court in August 2018. It is the best move Mum could have made. The care and attention to detail are second to none and the activities are suitable for all residents. I never have to worry about Mum because I trust the team 100%. I was disappointed to read the recent CQC
report. The inspectors are only in the home a number of hours and make their report based on a short visit, whereas I spend several hours every week in the home and would give the home an outstanding result.

The staff treat my Nan very well and are dedicated to the job that they do. The activities they do are excellent. If you need to know anything, a member of staff will always find time to answer any questions or worries. I and my Mum can turn up anytime and we are made to feel welcome. Nan has been happy

After visiting a couple of care homes in the area and not really getting a good feeling about the places, we found Darlington Court and from our first step in the door, we were met by a lovely lady who was busy but was glad to show us around. We knew immediately that this was the place that we wished
our family member to be a part of. The lovely, homely feel you get was a great comfort. Darlington Court is a spacious place and impeccably clean. We were shown the gardens which again were lovely and there were a few residents enjoying the sunshine, sitting in the spring sunshine. The bedrooms are a decent size and the ensuite bathrooms too. The staff are a credit to the care home and gave us all peace of mind.
A month after getting our family member settled and we are seeing the rewards of having them live there.

Staff are very welcoming to new residents and help them to adjust to their new surroundings. They are also very friendly and welcoming to all visitors.
The care is excellent with hourly checks and staff attend promptly when a bell is rung.
Each meal that I have seen served to my mother has been
attractive and nourishing.
The care home itself is very tastefully furnished and the rooms are of nice size with a large toilet en suite.

I've been visiting since November 2015 and my partner receives excellent care here. The care is carried out efficiently, with compassion and with dignity. The room is always kept clean and tidy. The food is of a good quality, well prepared and appetisingly served with excellent choice. The staff are
extremely helpful and flexible. On the rare occasion that there was any concern, it was dealt with promptly and effectively.

From day one all involved have been very helpful. They enabled my mother to enter the Care Home within a few days by helping us with transport arrangements. Name-labelling of her clothes was done for us, and her room was adjusted as she preferred it. Over the past three months, she has enjoyed taking
part in activities including crafts -making Xmas-tree decorations, music, table games, and social interaction. She was particularly pleased to learn that family pets were welcome to visit, as we have a dog who is very fond of her. On Christmas Day staff assisted us in moving her into our car so that she could attend a family gathering. Any time I visit she always looks well cared for and far less anxious than when she was struggling to live on her own. It has been a huge weight off my mind to know that she is now safe and being very well looked after by very patient, friendly people.

My mum has vascular dementia and has been a resident for 9 years. I can highly recommend this home. It has lots of different areas for the residents to use, a good sense of space with comfortable bedrooms when they need their own space. The care is fantastic by well trained caring staff. There is a
good selection of entertainment for everyone to enjoy. The food is excellent with something to suit all. The garden at the rear is beautiful and it’s lovely on see the residents enjoying using it.
The lower unit is for less dependent residents with upstairs for those who need more help.
I must reiterate how good and caring the staff are. I can’t thank them enough for all that they do for my mum.

Lukasz Wojciechowski

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

I have a master’s degree in social work and a level 5 diploma in health and social care leadership.


These qualifications have been essential, giving me the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care to residents, as well as support colleagues.


I wanted to work at Care UK because I am passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. I also wanted to be part of a team that genuinely provides exceptional care.


To be a home manager, you need to have strong communication skills, while also being patient, adaptable, and organised. Problem-solving is also important, as is being compassionate.


My role also means providing a supportive environment for colleagues. Everyone should feel heard and valued. Ultimately, a positive workplace contributes to all our success and the well-being of residents.


For me, the best part of the day is when I get the chance to connect with residents and see them thrive here. It is incredibly rewarding, knowing that I am part of a team that actively cares about improving people’s lives.


Outside of work, I enjoy DIY projects and going to the gym. Both help me stay active and creative, which gives me a great work-life balance.
