Darlington Court is situated in the peaceful seaside town of Littlehampton. The friendly and experienced care team provides residential, dementia and nursing care for older people on a permanent or short term basis.

The purpose-built home has a large, bright dining room, stunning lounges and smaller garden rooms, ideal for relaxing and catching up with loved ones. The beautiful and secure gardens, which include a patio and lawns, are particularly popular on warmer days. Residents are welcome to help out with weeding and planting.

The activities team supports residents to continue enjoying whatever hobbies they love or to find new pursuits to enjoy. By getting to know every resident as an individual, care is tailored to their exact needs.

of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

Our mother was very poorly towards the end of 2018 and as a family, we needed to find a Care Home close to the residence of myself and brother as she could no longer live alone in her own apartment.
After a great deal of searching and analysis in relation to CQC levels we found Darlington Court and
we were warmly welcomed by the Customer Relations Manager who provided substantial time in showing us the facilities that would become our mother's home.


The treatment and care offered during those early weeks have seen a remarkable recovery in our mother's overall health and that is purely down to the care and attention she has received on moving into her new environment.

3 years ago, I spent a great deal of time and effort visiting care/nursing homes when my husband needed to be discharged from hospital in an attempt to find suitable accommodation. I was immediately impressed by the welcome, friendliness, fragrant and superb appearance of Darlington Court. My husband
became a resident in early 2016 and now required end of life nursing care. His care is excellent in every sense by dedicated and professional staff. It gives me great peace of mind to know that he is safe and well cared for in a lovely environment.

Overall, we have been pleased with my mother's care since January 2018. However, food is bland, unimaginative and repetitive. My mother isn't fussy about food but has found little to excite and stimulate her appetite, there is little variety. In terms of client liaison, it would be helpful for my mother
and our family to have one "named person" responsible for her care - speaking to many staff members is not always helpful. Overall though, staff have been caring and considerate, helping to settle her in.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your experience at Darlington Court and we are very glad that your mother is settled and happy with us.


We’re sorry that she finds our menu option unsuited to her tastes. We do try to provide interesting and varied choices for our residents and our menu is generally well received. We also operate a ‘cooked to order’ alternative at each mealtime if there is nothing that appeals at that service. Our colleagues in the catering team will visit her to discuss her preferences again and plan meal choices with her to improve this for her moving forward.


We do assign a ‘key worker’ to every resident, but due to rest days and annual leave, for example, they may not always be on duty to discuss things with. There is however always a team leader on duty, and they will be able to support with any queries.


The home manager’s door is always open – please pop in and see her if we can be of any further assistance.

My mother died at Darlington Court on 1st June 2018. The staff (all) looked after my mum so very caring until the end. She was always very content and the staff always responded accordingly. My two daughter were there every day for the week leading up to her death and the staff looked after them also.
The staff in care homes don't always get recognition for their work, therefore the collection at mum's funeral of £525 has been donated to the staff.

I have been very impressed by the kind and caring staff at Darlington Court throughout my cousin's 6-month stay. They have managed her physical and mental health problems, including reassuring her when she is confused and anxious. They have kept me well-informed and been persistent in ensuring that
she gets the right treatment from the NHS. She has often said how nice everyone is to her.

As LPA holder for a distant relative, my second cousin's unexpected urgent need to move from her home to a more supported environment after a hospital stay was stressful. Care UK staff worked with us and with the local hospital's Social Care team, to manage the difficult transition. Since the move,

My mother's a first-time user of the care system; I was incredibly concerned for her settling in but need not have worried! The manager's very approachable (as are all staff - housekeeping, carer, kitchen etc) and filled us with confidence on our preliminary visit, leaving other residential care wanting.
Light, bright and airy, any resident can access and help tend the gardens. Varied entertainment every weekday; weekly hairdresser, skittles, cinema, baking - a performance by 'Elvis' one afternoon! Delicious menus with two choices offered each meal and everything cooked from scratch. Great emphasis is placed residents comfort, safety and personal care with appropriate equipment to bathe etc; keypads on doors near stairs to prevent falls; a personal file that keeps track of fluid intake, behaviour, etc to avoid confusion when asking the resident. To say Darlington Court exceeds every care and consideration I would hope for in respect of looking after mum, is very much an understatement.

My parents were both admitted to Darlington Court last week after my mother broke her collarbone. My father suffers with Alzheimer's, and she was caring for him.
From the first contact, the staff of the home acted with urgency, courtesy, care and gentleness to ensure that my parents were given the
best care as soon as possible. I have been so impressed.
Their room looks like a nice hotel room, and I would not mind staying in it myself! Since my parents have been at Darlington Court, the staff have been in constant contact with me, and the service has been professional, personal and reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Mum has Parkinsons and severe mobility issues. It took her some weeks to settle in but the staff are extremely kind and give her the time she needs in order to get moving. She is treated with dignity and her opinions are heard at the regular meetings they hold. The entertainments team are very good
and hold lots of activities for the residents to get involved with. My mum enjoys these times.

It took my mother a few weeks to settle in this care home and being 88 years old that is understandable but the kindness of the staff and their attention to her whims helped.
My mother loved gardening and there are two conversations which she loves sitting in and this makes her feel at home. I am also
pleased that she has gained weight and is encouraged to eat in the very sunny dining area by the staff who are very jolly. It is the atmosphere here that is conducive to my mother's health and I'm so glad I found this care home.

Dad has mild dementia and is somewhat slow in his movements. The staff are kind and patient. He is given choice in everything and especially impressed that he is treated with dignity. His opinions count and he feels he has something to offer. He is as happy as he can be. He has a new lease of life.

My mother has been at D.Court since July 2016 on the first floor. She has vascular dementia and ios no longer mobile. The care shown to her in a secure and safe environment is second to none.
She is encouraged to partake in activities, enjoys her weekly visit to the hairdresser and likes sitting out
in the garden.
Both myself and my husband would not hesitate to recommend D. Court to others. In fact, a couple we know has just placed a relative of their on our recommendation.

The last few months have been a challenging time for our whole family and I want all the staff in Darlington Court to know that they made it a lot easier for us to cope. The care home Assistants and Nurses all showed compassion and sensitivity at all times to both my Dad’s and our situation. They allowed
him dignity and respect at a time when this was compromised by his deteriorating health. They gave us information and support and the evening staff and night staff on the last day of his life were so kind. I’d like to thank the whole team for making an awful situation more bearable.

Our friend was admitted for end of life care. On each occasion when we visited him, we were very impressed with the standard of care and the way he was treated with kindness and dignity, even though his behaviour because of his medical condition, could be extremely challenging at times.

Mum has been cared for at Darlington Court to perfection for the past 5 years. Mum has severe dementia, is unable to stand or verbally communicate. She is very settled there, and despite being very ill recently, continues to be comfortable and well cared for.

Lukasz Wojciechowski

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

I have a master’s degree in social work and a level 5 diploma in health and social care leadership.


These qualifications have been essential, giving me the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care to residents, as well as support colleagues.


I wanted to work at Care UK because I am passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. I also wanted to be part of a team that genuinely provides exceptional care.


To be a home manager, you need to have strong communication skills, while also being patient, adaptable, and organised. Problem-solving is also important, as is being compassionate.


My role also means providing a supportive environment for colleagues. Everyone should feel heard and valued. Ultimately, a positive workplace contributes to all our success and the well-being of residents.


For me, the best part of the day is when I get the chance to connect with residents and see them thrive here. It is incredibly rewarding, knowing that I am part of a team that actively cares about improving people’s lives.


Outside of work, I enjoy DIY projects and going to the gym. Both help me stay active and creative, which gives me a great work-life balance.
