His safety, well-being and care are not only catered for amazingly, but over and beyond our expectations. The nurses, carers and all the staff are wonderfully kind. The food is excellent! The room is kept spotlessly clean and his laundry is returned quickly and is always perfect. The activities are always a highlight of the day!
Thank you Westlake. So much.
Thank you very much for your 5 star review and very kind words, it is our pleasure to support your father. We will pass your review on to our team who will be delighted their hard work has been recognised. Thank you.
Mum came to Westlake for respite care following a hospital stay. She's been a permanent resident for 2yrs now. We've found staff cares for Mum with empathy, dignity, and respect. Mum benefits from easy access to multi-agency support from the wider community NHS team, including community mental health support, community matron, audiologist, GP, and optician. There is a holistic focus on wellbeing and Mum enjoys her hairdresser and chiropody appointments and looks forward to the daily entertainment [especially musicians/singers]. The Westlake team has made day-to-day living achievable and enjoyable for Mum and has given peace of mind to the family, as well as supported a quality of life for Mum, we couldn’t achieve at home. From my first visit, I observed healthy interactions between the staff team and residents, speaking with kindness and respect. There is always a friendly welcome from the team and time to talk about Mum’s care. Mum now feels cared for and looks forward to each day.
Thank you very much for your 5-star review. We are so very proud of our team and our beautiful home and will pass on your kind words to our dedicated team.
I cannot praise the staff at Westlake House enough, right from the very first phone call to arrange the visit, the communication regarding where and when to play on the day and organising the mini concert - everyone was so helpful. The reception we received from staff and audience was fantastic, Needless to say, our ex-band member was very surprised to see some of his friends again and I’m sure our mini concert will be remembered for a long time. The town band play at many events throughout the year and I can honestly say this was one of the nicest, most appreciative venues we have ever performed. Thank you, we will be back!
Thank you so much for such positive feedback, it inspires us to do more. We really appreciate you and your band for sacrificing your time to entertain us. We were all excited and we enjoyed the wonderful performance from your band. We look forward to having you again at Westlake House, hopefully soon.
The staff are very caring and make us both feel as though we really matter to them as people with feelings.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Our team appreciates it when resident's loved ones highlight their hard work and dedication to our residents. It is our pleasure and always lovely to see you.
I'm very pleased with the care and Dad is settled and happy. He is fond of the staff.
Thank you so much for your review. It is our honor to care for your dad and we are very fond of him too.
So in short, a full house of stars and long may they shine.
Thank you so much for your kind review. Our team always appreciates it when a resident's loved ones highlight their hard work and dedication to our residents. Our Chef team are delighted you enjoy their food, and we look forward to serving you again soon.
Lovely experiences at Westlake House, friendly staff and warm welcoming facilities. I highly recommend Westlake House. My friend is well looked after. We have nothing but praise for Westlake House. I always enjoy visiting the home.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. It was our pleasure looking after your friend. We will pass on your kind words to our team and hope to see you soon. Please feel free to pop in at any time for tea and cake.
My mother moved from hospital into Barchester Westlake House Care Home for only a short period of three weeks for her end of life care. Albeit for only this brief time the staff were superb, the care and support provided by the management and both nursing and care staff was exceptional making those final few days comforting both for mum and our family. Thank you Westlake House you were marvellous, we can't thank you enough.
My review is very specific but perhaps gives a flavour of the individual care that is given at Barchester Westlake House Care Home. We have just returned having had Valentine's lunch with my parents (99 and 98) both of whom are residents at Westlake. How welcoming everyone was and how special my mum and dad were made to feel. Roses on all the tables, heart-shaped balloons and m mum received some lovely flowers from my father (organised and paid for bt Westlake). After lunch, we had entertainment from a guitarist singing songs that took us all down memory lane. Well done and thank you to all.
Thank you for taking your time to give us a review. I am happy to hear that you and your parents had such a memorable experience at the Valentine's lunch.
At Westlake House, we strive to provide premium care to all our residents and your feedback encourages us all to continue to do more to ensure our residents are well cared for.
Managing change for a 95-year-old who did not wish to lose her independence has been challenging. My friend has been brought back from the depths of despair to her old self. The transformation has been a direct result of staff support in pulling her through helpful and cheerful service. They have done a first-class job in helping my friend get back to her old self. Thanks to the team, brilliant job.
Thank you for your positive feedback, we will continue to strive to provide premium care to all our residents.
Really pleased with the customer service at Westlake Horsham. The staff are lovely and the facilities are excellent. Very clean and generally a nice environment. The home manager is extremely welcoming and friendly.
Thank you so much for such wonderful feedback, it really motivates our staff.
Her medical care has been fantastic and very organised.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. We are happy to hear that your mum is settling well.
Westlake House have been nothing but exemplary in regard to my grandfather's care. Having moved him from a very disappointing home, the staff at Westlake have gone above and beyond to make him feel at home. The cake received is beyond any of my expectations along with the food being served being like something I would expect from a 5 star hotel. I cannot recommend Westlake highly enough for their efforts and care. I am so glad we found them and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the care they deserve.
Thank you Alex for your lovely feedback, I will share this with my team who will really appreciate your review.
The staff are always welcoming and provide us on a regular basis with the current state of the residents. He is consistently happy, clean, smart and looks very well cared for. The facilities are immaculate, and the food is to a high standard.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We will make improvements where needed.

My mum has been wonderfully cared for at Westlake House. She has been a resident for two years and has always been treated with the greatest dignity and respect. The staff do whatever they can to address her needs, both medically and emotionally.
It is our pleasure to care for your lovely mum, she is part of our Westlake family, we truly appreciate you sending in the review. It will be my pleasure to pass on your lovely comments to our teams.
Thank you once again.
My mother has received excellent care from all of the team at Westlake House. The nursing team especially has provided a great standard of care during very difficult circumstances.

Thank you once again.
My mother presented with swollen and inflamed legs - however, with top care and good nursing they are back to normal - she can wear shoes again! Alongside this, a smart restaurant provides a good choice of 2 or 3 (nutritionally balanced) meals, access to hairdressing, manicure and pedicure etc. Not forgetting entertainment!
This home offers outstanding care, and I am so happy my mother is in such good hands to see her through this time of her life.
Thank you so much for the most complimentary review of Westlake House and our team. We really do endeavour to provide person-centred, dedicated care for our residents, and when we receive a review such as this, it really does matter to us all. I know all the staff are committed to making this home the best it can be, and we are all so happy that you agree that it is.
They got to know dad, his health and accommodate him. It was a great experience and I will definitely use Westlake House again without reservation.
It was a delight to care for your Dad and to meet yourselves. It is so important to all of us to ensure our residents feel at home, safe and cared for to the highest standard, even if they are only with us for a short stay We are so happy that your Dad enjoyed himself, and we would welcome him back anytime.
Very good staff.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review of Westlake House and all the staff. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and felt you received an extremely high standard of care which we absolutely pride ourselves on providing for all of our lovely residents. Thank you again for your very kind words.

Meet the Team (15)

Hi, my name is Linda, and I am the General Manager here at Westlake House. Welcome to our website!
My passion for working with older people in a nursing home environment started with my first registered manager position in 2003. My career has also included positions such as a Practice Development Nurse and a Dementia Specialist. Before Barchester, I was a Director of Care for a luxury retirement village, commissioning both a nursing home and a domiciliary care service. This position involved managing, coaching and mentoring the registered managers.
I am proud of being able to make a difference to people's lives by providing high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive learning environment within an open and fair culture.
My door is always open for a coffee (or tea) and a chat, whether that is for residents, relatives or staff members.

I began my nursing career in Italy and chose to pursue my passion further in the UK.
I have a strong background in providing care to a diverse range of residents' needs and I understand the challenges that they may encounter in day-to-day life. I enjoy working closely alongside our residents and their families to ensure that they receive the utmost level of person-centred care & support that they require, whilst also assisting them to achieve their goals no matter how big or small.
As Deputy Manager, my overall aim is to support the team by working closely alongside our General Manager to ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Should you have any queries please feel free to get in touch and I am happy to provide my full support.

Tria is a registered nurse and has experience working as a manager at a nursing home before joining Westlake House in October 2018. Tria provides support and assistance to the General Manager in running the care home on a day-to-day basis. Tria is involved in leading and supporting the nurses to provide excellent care services to those we support.

I started working at Westlake House in August 2023.
I began my career in care in 2013 as a support worker and went on to work as a Senior Team Leader, later moving into care administration and care recruitment. I am very passionate about the care industry and strive to ensure that my team and I deliver the best quality service to our residents and their families.

I joined Barchester Care at Westlake House in April 2026 as an Administrative Assistant. Since starting, everyone at Westlake House has been incredibly lovely and welcoming, which has made settling into the role a really positive experience.
I have been working in the healthcare sector since 2024, and I’m excited to continue developing my skills and begin this new chapter with Barchester at Westlake House. I’m also really looking forward to getting to know the residents and being part of creating a warm, supportive environment for everyone.
I look forward to contributing to the team and supporting the important work we do.

Before my position at Westlake, I was a Maintenance Manager at a local airfield, and I am looking forward to taking the maintenance position to great heights here.
My role means that every day is different; one-minute l am a plumber, then next an electrician, then a painter & decorator – just to name a few of the things l do!I enjoy all the discussions that I have with the residents here at Westlake and every day they teach me something different. I enjoy working alongside and discussing with residents the different ways to do things.

Pearl joined Westlake House in April 2020. Pearl has many years of experience in a similar role. She has brought a refreshing new enthusiasm to our housekeeping team and our residents.

I joined the Barchester family in November 2024 and have instantly felt welcome and supported. As an activity coordinator, I am passionate about getting to know our residents and delivering person-centred care and activities to all residents, an approach supported by a holistic, whole-home view.
I have been in a Care support role since 2019 and an Activity Coordinator since 2020. I love that my role brings laughter and joy to others. It is so wonderful seeing people engaging in an activity they enjoy and interacting with each other. I am very passionate about Intergenerational projects, as something magical happens when old and young get together.

After 20 years as a Customer Services Manager for a local Housing Association once taking voluntary redundancy I decided on a complete career change. I took a minibus driving course, brushed up my DIY skills and became a Maintenance Assistant.
Now there is no greater job satisfaction than as part of the Westlake Maintenance Team giving the best possible customer service we can to our residents, fixing whatever needs to be fixed and sharing the experiences as we go out on one of our regular trips in the minibus.
Making a difference during their stay with us is what it is all about and getting to know the residents and their families and learning about their varied and amazing lives makes the job all the more enjoyable.

Sheila Elliott is our new Resident Representative at Westlake House.
She has been selected by our residents as well as staff to take on the role of our Residents' Representative. This position within the home is one of many responsibilities. Sheila will work alongside the residents as their trusted confidant. All topics of improvement, worries, complaints and praises within the home will be handed over to Sheila, where it will then be mentioned in our monthly Residents and Relatives meeting that is held every first Monday of the month.
We look forward to working with Sheila to improve all aspects of life at Westlake House.

My name is Florica Negrean, and I joined Barchester Healthcare in 2022 as a Senior Carer. I have worked in residential care for many years, and I really enjoy getting to know residents and finding out about them and their lives.
I have been one of the Speak Up Champions at Westlake House since 2023. I am very passionate about my role and ensuring that our residents and staff all feel safe and happy.

My name is Dinkle Davis, and I am a Registered Nurse at Westlake House care home. I joined Barchester in 2022 as a Senior Carer and, since gaining my PIN in 2024, have been a Registered Nurse.
I have many years of experience working in residential and nursing care and am very passionate about the care we deliver to our residents.

I love my role, which involves supporting the care team as well as the nurses with clinical tasks; it has a great variety, and no two days are the same. I enjoy helping the residents, talking about their lives and getting to know them and their families.

My name is Kerry, and I am a Carer and the Dementia Champion at Westlake House. I have been at Westlake since 2022. I am very passionate about my role and delivering the highest quality care for our wonderful residents. My role as Dementia Champion allows me to be a voice for our residents and provides me with the knowledge and training to best support our residents and their families.
I am currently working towards my NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care and am enjoying using my years of experience to further my education.

Our house was a stone's throw from the main government hospital called Mpilo - meaning Health.
I always loved to see doctors and nurses go in and out of the hospital, but I never thought I would be a nurse one day.
I came to the UK in November 1999. I began working in Westlake House in 2002 for 6 months and came back in 2004 until 2019. Now l’m back again after a 3-year absence.
Westlake has always felt like my hometown to me. Wherever I’ve been, l always wished to come back home to Westlake House. What a great Home, a great team and supportive management.
There is no place like Westlake House; our residents, relatives and visitors all echo the same sentiments.
When l do retire, l will be forever grateful for having been part of this fine establishment and having had the opportunity to fulfil my childhood dream.
