Etheldred House is a purpose-built care home, providing nursing and residential person-centred care to adults aged 65+ including those living with dementia.

The care home, which offers long term and respite care is situated in the village of Histon with good access to local shops and a library. Cambridge city centre is five miles away.

Etheldred House is divided into four houses over two floors, Apple, Pear, Cherry and Strawberry, each with its own communal lounge, dining area, kitchenette and bathroom facilities.

All bedrooms are single occupancy with en-suite facilities. The upper floor is accessed by stairs or a lift.

Other facilities at Etheldred House include a café and a children's play room.

Etheldred House provides:

Etheldred House is a lovely home, staff are all so welcoming and caring towards the residents and visitors. The care my friend received was amazing they couldn’t have cared for him better! They have many areas in the home that you can go to, a cinema room, a prayer room and a great cafe to socialise
in. The lady in reception is amazing. Thank you for all you do!

My mother has been cared for in an exceptional way by all the staff since being admitted with Alzheimer's in 2010.
Everyone has been extremely compassionate and knowledgeable with her care.
Her family and friends have always been made welcome at any time of day or night.
I could think of no better
place for her to have lived during her final years of life.

There is an abundance of care provided at this care home. The care our mother has received has been exceptional. The home provides support for all the family as well. All the staff are wonderful and Etheldred House truly feels like home. Thank you.

Sadly my late mum didn't have chance to enjoy the activities due to her poor health, but the last few weeks of her life spent at the home were made as pleasant and as sociable as they could be. My mum was treated with dignity and great care; the nursing team were hugely supportive to our family at a
most difficult time.


The admin team were also very supportive and always approachable.

I could not be more thrilled with level of service and professionalism within this home. I knew as a family we had made the correct the decision by coming here. Everything was clean and had the feel of being incredibly well looked after. The staff came across fantastically well and were happy to answer
our questions that we had about the place and type of care that will be given. The staff were all very knowledgable and helped to put our minds at ease. This is such a good fit for us, and the communication with the home has been unrivalled and fantastic.

Enrica became the Care Manager at Etheldred House in November 2008 and is a Registered General Nurse.
