Please do not be conned into leaving your loved ones in the care of the manager here. A catalogue of falsehoods spiralling out of control made an awful situation heartbreaking. A complaint was logged using their link yet never acknowledged. The manager is not to be trusted and is very well-rehearsed when it comes to blatant lies to distance loved ones who see the place for what it is.
Gardens are lovely but you won’t see a resident in them, the viewing unit Skylark is beautiful but your loved one won’t go in there! In fact, the majority of residents seem to be crammed into Kingfisher with minimal staff.
The quiet corridors of Skylark are very different to the screaming and desperate pleas for help that is heard through the rest of the corridors! The physio that is advertised is non-existent so don’t expect to see your loved one walking after that stroke.

The whole place is based on lies and cover-ups.

Mum has been at Longueville Court for 18 months and is very well cared for on Memory Lane. Mum is safe, always very clean and enjoys her food. Dad joined the home on respite a year ago and has stayed, as he is able to be with Mum. The nurses and carers show respect, kindness and compassion, which Dad comments on when he sees the care that mum is getting. The activities team have a great sense of fun and they go out of their way to please dad, such as picking up his newspaper every day and making a special Valentine's tea for them. Thank you, chef! Kingfisher Unit are very kind to Dad and the lead nurse is excellent at communicating any issues to me. I have every confidence in the team led by the manager who always makes time to help my parents and our family, as does her deputy. Longueville is a safe, caring and happy place. Thank you one and all!

To date, I have been very pleased with the care the Barchester - Longueville Court has provided for my mother who has dementia. The staff notifies me regarding any issues or concerns. My mother is looked after with respect and she is allowed to walk around the corridors which she enjoys and to seek company from the staff ie allowed to sit in the nurses office. There appear a variety of activities for my mother if she so wishes to take part. The manager is always available via phone or e-mail which is appreciated.

My experience at Barchester Longueville Court was nothing short of 100% excellent. It was spotlessly clean, friendly and the staff couldn't do enough to help you with your requirements, medical or mental. My time helped me through a very difficult time in my life and gave me back a zest for life. The food's excellent too!

Main the staff place the place so good.

My father was a resident at Longueville Court Care home and our family experience of the home is it's extremely well managed with a superb team of staff from reception and admin to highly competent, compassionate, caring and professional care staff as well as highly qualified and experienced nursing staff. In addition support staff such as those in maintenance, cleaning and laundry demonstrated considerable care and dedication to the needs of residents and my father in particular. Nothing was too much trouble. During the last two weeks of my father's life the level of care, compassion, sensitivity to need was of considerable help to us as a family especially during the challenging COVID situation and associated restrictions the care home has to operate within to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and residents. Care home staff and especially the care home manager, made a very difficult situation just that little bit easier, for which we are extremely grateful.

1. Care provided very good and thanks to care staff.
2. Strongly suggest that all staff have the training to help them with communicating with families more sensitively and to meet resident confidentiality. Bigger coffee space.
3. Activities on offer need to be broadened so residents with Alzheimer's have more sensory and musical experiences and more trips out.

4. Think Memory Lane Longueville needs updating and renovating. Would be nice if it had a nicer name and newsletter had news from Memory Lane.

Food terrible in lock-down but much improved now. Five-star food when I came here in January. Mum spent the last 18 months of her life at Longueville Court. She was treated so well, just as if she was everyone's grandma. The staff is amazing. The rooms were much larger and nicer than anywhere else I have seen. Nothing is too much trouble here. Sadly we couldn't be with Mum in her final weeks but we are comforted to know in her final moments they never left her and held her hand until the end. We are eternally grateful.

I viewed another home a few months ago but unfortunately have been unable to Longueville Court since Mum has been there due to COVID-19. I cannot, therefore, complete some of the boxes below. Mum resides on Memory Lane, having moved from the NHS system in April. It is extremely hard not to be able to visit her (for reasons that we fully understand and support). However, the staff has been immensely helpful in enabling me to communicate with Mum by telephone on a regular basis. The staff has kept me fully informed of Mum's health and day to day condition.

My Mum was a resident at Longueville Court for 8 years, she died on 24/04/20, not from the Covid 19 virus, but other causes. I want to praise the staff, Carers and Nurses for looking after my Mum so well. From the moment she arrived, she was treated as though it was her own home and she became one of their family. She suffered with Alzheimer's, and at times as the illness progressed she became very difficult and sometimes unpleasant to care for, but the staff always treated her so kindly and had patience beyond belief. In the last 2 years or so she became confined to her bed and got more frail and the Skylark team really loved her and found ways of handling her so she didn't get distressed, it was lovely to see. I had complete confidence that my Mum was being kept clean, cosy and calm, fed well etc. They would play her cd's, dress her in her favourite clothes, spray her with her perfume, cuddle and calm her when she cried. Additionally, they supported me, becoming like friends.

My mother, aged 91, first stayed in Longueville Court for respite care after a fall at home in which she broke her wrist. The staff at the home treated her with respect and kindness, even though she made it clear she didn't want to be in a care home! Her second stay was a short one, only two weeks before she died. Again, she was treated with dignity and kindness. The staff, especially on Kingfisher, are very compassionate and patient.
