The staff at Barchester Longueville Court Care Home are helpful, friendly and professional. They have given us support and information and advice when needed. The excellent standard of care given has meant that my Grandmother has outlived everybody's expectations and she is still with us.

Staff so a really good job of dealing with a number of elderly people with a range of illnesses - and with a smile. Activities encourage residents to join in with whatever takes place that day and if bed bound some go to when appropriate.

I have been visiting Longueville Court every Wednesday for about 2 years. I visit 2 friends at the far end so I see most of the building and the employees inside. I have seen them at their best and at their worst in summer and in winter. The standard and quality is excellent. The manager's door is always open.

Once again overwhelmed by the care and attention to detail and how well my relative is cared for. She could not be anywhere better and as a community nurse, I have always been able to find some fault with some care or some aspect of the home. This home is the only place I have ever been in that truly feels like a home I would want any of my family or myself to be cared for if needed.

After the first home Mum was in Longueville was heaven, you walk in and no nasty smells, anyone would think they had walked into a fantastic hotel, basically it was home from home, with a huge family added. Every single person employed from gardener up to Manager was a member. The care was wonderful and no-one could have been treated better from my point of view even with her problems. Mum loved it, appreciated all the hard work put in by everyone there. Sadly she passed recently, even the doctor and undertakers couldn't have been more caring at the end. She was treated with dignity by them and it was a peaceful end for her.

My mother has lived at Longueville Court for 3 months and the standard of care is excellent. The staff are very friendly and always willing to do extra to make the residents feel happy. There is a very good choice of food and drink and a very varied activity programme to keep the residents occupied, including trips out. Visitors are always welcomed with a warm greeting from the receptionist, I would thoroughly recommend.

My dad was a resident in Longueville Court, Memory Lane Community for 3 1/2 years. His care was 5 star. Every member of staff from admin, the gardener, cleaners and carers were wonderful. They looked after my dad so well and to myself after he passed away. Family is the word I would use to describe them all.

I can honestly say, in my experience, this is the best care home I have ever visited and I am grateful for the care that they provided here for my grandmother. The staff are beyond amazing, their attitude and care toward residents is above and beyond expectation. My family was given the chance of another year with my nan because of the attentive, wonderful care of these people. She was comfortable, happy and relaxed in this care home and we were able to enjoy the last of our time with her here. I cannot praise and thank these lovely people enough, their brilliant balance of professionalism and the ability to treat patients and relatives as if they were their own family, sets them apart from any other home I have been to. There are no words to fully explain the work these people do here - they are angels. Thank you so much and I would highly recommend anybody considering using Longueville Court to go ahead and visit for themselves.

Review from Richard C (Partner of Resident) published on 7 January 2016 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My partner was in hospital and we looked at almost all the nursing homes in Peterborough, and we were pleased when we were offered a place at Longueville Court. When we were shown around I was impressed by they number of staff around, and it has been my experience that there is always staff available. All the staff are pleasant and helpful, and they genuinely take an interest in her welfare. Many care homes reek of incontinence, but that is not the case at Longueville Court. There is a varied programme of activities including some talented outside acts. friends and relations are encouraged to visit and receive a warm welcome when they do so. My mother was a resident at another Peterborough nursing home and I soon realised that she was not getting the attention that was warranted, so it is a great relief that my partner is in an excellent home.

The care shown by all staff including nurses has been excellent. They go the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy. The Kingfisher Unit is the specific area I am talking about. Staff are sometimes stretched to the limit (when they are always working hard and running around to get things done) which is unfair on them. They always had time to smile and say hello in passing to my mother but it would be great if all carer homes had a person to spend one hour a day with a resident to just talk, hold hand, be there, it makes all the difference.

I am writing this as the wife of my husband who, passed away yesterday after 4 and a half years as a resident of Longueville Court Care Home, Peterborough. My husband had the best of care in this lovely place, from the cleaners, the maintenance staff, the carers, the nurses, and the management, in fact everyone. He had such loving care and I can't praise them enough.

Right from our initial visit management and staff showed genuine concern and provided the highest quality support in both making arrangements and organising the transfer to the home. The home was very clean, well decorated with an abundance of facilities for residents to visitors alike. Staffing levels were high and all were helpful, kind and very supportive at all times of the day or night. We all felt that the support provided made mums last few days the best they could be under the circumstances. Nothing was too much trouble and for that I truly thank everyone at the home.
