I have been visiting my mum in ford place daily since her admission nearly three years ago. The nursing and caring staff are brilliant, they look after Mum with great care and dignity, they are friendly and approachable. I would like to include all staff at Ford Place, the cleaners, cooks and the caretaker, they all do a wonderful job, and are very willing to go the extra mile to give Mum what she likes to help her feel at home.
I am made to feel welcome by all the staff when I visit and the manager will always find time to talk to family members.
Thank you everyone for your care and support!
The managers, nurses and carers were all absolutely wonderful.
They were all the most amazing, friendly and caring staff.
I couldn't have wished for a better place for my mum to be cared for. All the staff went above and beyond their call of duties wonderful place!
The manager, nurses, and carers all seemed to really care about the residents they were involved with. Upon our departure, there was someone there trying to start more programs for the residents to be involved in/with to help keep them more mentally active and physically engaged.
Everyone we encountered were treating the residents with dignity.
The weekends seemed to prove more challenging for the workers as the help was scaled back.
All things considered, Ford Place Nursing Home was a good place.
My mother has been in Ford Place Nursing Home since March 2009 until she passed away on 31st October 2017.
The care she received in those years was exemplary.
The care and support for mum and our family have always been over and above anyone can imagine.
It is very difficult to put into words and express all our thanks to all concerned in the short time here for mum and our family.
Every day walking through the front door a warm feeling waves over you, always a smile never left alone from any of the staff.
Thank you all who were part of mum's life here.
My heart is broken but mum is at peace now.
My aunt was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and because she had several other infirmities eg blind, deaf and very poor mobility, I could no longer manage her in her own home.
Ford Place Nursing Home was able to care for her very specific needs and made her remaining four months as comfortable as possible. Both the nursing and care staff were admirable under what sometimes were very trying circumstances. She was able to have a dignified death after a very distressing illness which for her relatives was the best we could hope for and we are all very grateful.
Father-in-law moved to Ford Place after 9 weeks in hospital, very weak, frail and a little bewildered. After only a few days, besides telling us he is pleased to be at Ford Place he is clearly clean comfortable and happy. His medical needs are clearly well met by a cheerful and responsive team, where nothing is too much effort. The friendly staff are clearly led by able and attentive managers who we witness in close daily contact with residents and staff alike. Everyone demonstrably goes the extra mile to service, not just the residents, but their visitors too.
The home is set in beautiful, peaceful grounds and the accommodation everywhere is airy, bright and comfortable making our time and father's a pleasant experience.
Living some distance away poses problems for us but the help and assistance we have been given by the management team has been truly outstanding. Our sincere thanks to all at Ford Place.
I find the staff excellent as is the food.
Patient arrived on 6th September 2017. I first came to see him that afternoon. I was greeted with courtesy and kindness and taken to see the patient. Since then he has been looked after with great care and kindness. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very caring. The food is very good, he is asked what he would like and if possible it is prepared for him. All the staff do an amazing job.
I visited my best friend who was terminally ill. Although he was only with Ford Place for 6 weeks, he was given the best care. His every need was attended to. All the staff are the best - awesome. I could even take in my adorable Jack Russell, who my best friend loved. Staff and other residents got to know her too. I could take him little treats and he was spoilt by the staff, especially with his love of ice cream. I have told my family Ford Place is where I want to go, I know it's the best. I think I made new friends. God Bless to all the staff.
Very friendly managerial staff. Warm welcome and asked if I'd like to view the whole house and grounds. Clean and fresh throughout. No nasty smells excellent good decor and ongoing decoration in progress. I was told that a new service provider had been in place since Nov 2016, and that staff seemed pleased with how the change had panned out very well for the residents and staff alike. Overall a very pleasant experience and the resident very well cared for all bed linen and their clothing clean and white. Keep up the good work.
It's a big step when your relative goes into a care home. Our mother went into Ford Place after a month in a hospital. She needed some special nursing care but also her dementia had worsened. I was very impressed from the moment I walked into this lovely building. I saw a number of happy residents. My mother had been given a lovely room with great views of the garden. The nurses and professional carers are a high-quality team. I feel 100% that my mother at this very vulnerable time of her life is in excellent hands. I cannot recommend Ford Place more highly.
Have no problem with Ford Place. The food, cleanliness and running of the home is first class. My brother has settled very nicely and gets on very well with the staff who are very friendly and caring.
If you have to use a home, look at this one.
End of life care was exceptional.
My Dad passed away almost two weeks ago at Ford Place. I was fortunate to be with him for the last 10 days of his life so was able to witness the level of end of life care he received from the staff. To say it was outstanding is no exaggeration. Every member of staff from the manager to the cleaning staff did their bit to ensure that Dad was pain-free and comfortable. There were frequent visits from all levels of staff to just see how he was doing and hold his hand for a few minutes. Their caring also extended to me and I was often asked if I needed anything including cups of tea, sandwiches or lunch. The nursing staff always made themselves available to answer questions or provide reassurance and emotional support when needed. Thank you, everyone, at Ford Place for all the hugs and kind words, they all helped me to cope at a very sad time in my life.
Ford Place is a lovely old building with a well-kept garden. The garden is accessible to wheelchair users. There are lots of birds and squirrels. There are regular activities for the residents held in the communal sitting room. Those include, bingo, sing a longs etc. For the more mobile, there are trips out eg. Bury Cathedral. Residents are attended at regular intervals to ensure they are fed and watered if they cannot use the "grand" dining room.
Ford Place Nursing Home is excellently run by the manager and staff. A welcoming place, with a warm reception, and very friendly. My uncle is well cared for.
I have, by proxy, experience of a great many care homes whilst searching for one appropriate for the needs of my - now deceased - in-laws. They lived in Sussex. Had they lived in Norfolk I could - without the slightest reservation - have placed them in Ford Place, Thetford.
Their work is so exemplary I wrote an unsolicited letter of thanks to the management for their care towards my Mother who is now resident in the home. Faultless. In all honesty (as hard as it might be to believe) there exists no aspect of their care and professionalism towards the residents in their charge that I have found wanting.
The staff here are very friendly and they are looking after my Mum very well.
Ford Place is a lovely home, so clean and comfortable with everyone friendly and caring. My partner is very happy here. Which allows me to relax and enjoy my break. Thank you.
