Our grandmother / mother has been a resident in Lincoln House for just over a year. The past 6 months have been very challenging and distressing but despite this the staff have remained positive and upbeat. This week was a big birthday and they made a huge effort to make this day as special as it
could be under the circumstances. Beautiful cakes, flowers, afternoon tea and favourite meal for lunch taking time to help open cards and gifts and sing Happy Birthday. We obviously wished as a family we could all visit in person but we are so grateful that it was such a lovely day and we know that the best care possible is given at all times.
Reply from Garry Gardiner, Director of Operations at Lincoln House Care HomeThank you for your kind words. We will ensure that the great team at Lincoln House receive your feedback. We have seen the photographs and it looked like everyone had a great time at the birthday party.

Lincoln House was a necessity rather than a choice because of NHS pressure to discharge, and therefore booked on a temporary basis. However, Mum chose to stay as she felt "comfortable, cared for and safe". As a retired physiotherapist with vast experience of homes, I saw Lincoln House through a daughter's
and a professional's eye. Apart from the high standard of personal hygiene, cleanliness, activities, garden's, GP support etc, the huge positive point is the staff's sensitivity of care. From a lady who was hesitant to be leaving her room to one who joined in everything but who was bed-bound in her final weeks, the carer and staff gave a seamless, supporters and never rushed, always allowing Mum to keep her dignity and independence of choice. Amazingly impressive.

My mother has a lifetime fear and antipathy of going into a home; her view of her four years at Lincil House proved to be in direct contrast.
She felt safe and secure. She was engaged and entertained. She participated in activities and was very content with her accommodation and surroundings.
Above
all, she was cared for, looked out for and love. We, and she, could not have hoped for more.

My mum lived at Lincoln House for five and a half years, having gone there for end of life care. Testimony, therefore, to the wonderful care she received, as well as her own will to live, that 'end of life' turned out to be years rather than weeks. She continued to receive nursing care throughout this
time.

Mum wasn't just 'in a home' but 'at home'. Nurses, carers, catering staff, cleaners, maintenance, admin and entertainment staff were all instrumental in making Mum feel she was living in her own home; in her own personal space with staff who quickly became friends, calling at her door for a chat as well as to give care or help. To feel you are still a part of society and valued; is crucial.

All homes up and down the country have ups and downs, and care homes are no exception. But after so long at Lincoln House, give praise where praise is rightly due. They are a credit to themselves in the quality of care they provide, and I would recommend them too highly to everyone. Excellent.

The care and attention that was given to my mum whilst a resident at Lincoln House, and also to my dad as a daily and day-long visitor, I am positive was second to none. I did not want Mum to be in a care home but sometimes it cannot be avoided. So, if it had to be, then I think we were fortunate that
she went there.
I personally cannot thank all the staff, carers, cleaners, admin, everyone for their kindness to us as a family, enough.
Thank you!

I honestly don't know where to begin. Every single person that works in Lincoln House Care Home was incredible. As far as I'm concerned, they are all angels on earth.
The care my mother received was exceptional. Their empathy throughout her stay and after her death is something that gives me enormous
comfort. I cannot thank them all enough, from the cleaners, kitchen staff, maintenance, reception, carers and nurses.
Wonderful people, thank you so much.

One word sums up this home - fantastic. Lincoln House is a home from home environment, from the rooms to the tasty food served. The deputy manager was so helpful from the moment we looked around and all the staff over the entire duration of Nan's stay have been so kind, caring and friendly. During Nan's
final few weeks, as difficult as they have been, the staff have been incredible. They treated her with love, kindness and respect. Nothing was too much trouble and I wasn't left out either, getting a hug when they could see I needed one. So supportive and always on hand to offer reassurance and answer any questions. They were so thorough with all their checks and were in regularly and promptly. Nothing was too much for them. I cannot thank them enough for making such a hard time that much easier. I could not recommend this place more and I would definitely give this home a 10/10, should I be asked.

The resident I visit is truly thankful to everyone caring for him. Although he was very reluctant to leave his own home, particularly as he'd shared it with his late wife, he realised he could not have remained there. He is grateful for everything everyone does for him. He says no one could do more.

The manager came out to assess me at my home.
I was coming into the home for respite. She was lovely, made me feel at ease when she was explaining about the home. When I arrived at the home I was made very welcome.
My room was lovely, the food was nice and I haven't had home-cooked food for a long
time. The staff made me feel part of the family. I didn't have time to get bored as all of the activities being put on.
Everyone was lovely a really nice place I would recommend to anyone and I will be going back.

My father-in-law never wanted to go into a care home, but his health left him unable to care for himself. He is now getting used to life in care and he finds the majority of staff very professional and caring, to the point where he feels they treat him like a good friend. We can only praise the staff
at Lincoln House for making him feel as comfortable as he can be. He is now getting more involved with the activities run by the entertainment team, which has helped a lot with his mental well being.

An amazing place, full of love, laughter and joy for all the residents concerned. I go home every day totally uplifted. The activity program is fantastic. The breadth of things to do and singing is wonderful! As for the care staff, can't fault them. Food and meals are delicious, wonderful choices all
catered for. Finally not forgetting the admin staff. The wonderful, helpful, kind ladies on reception, your patience and understanding is so very much appreciated. Couldn't ask for a better place to be. My Dad's choice and I understand why!

Both my parents were cared for by the fabulous staff at Lincoln House. They were happy there and were always treated as individuals and with respect and dignity. They were kept comfortable, warm and safe.
The food was brilliant and they both enjoyed their meals and were delighted when we could share
those important times with them.
Following the sad death of my father, the care workers took time to ensure mum has the extra support she needed.

Our mum spent just over 10 weeks at Lincoln House. From the minute I took her into her room, she was given excellent quality care; from the food, nurses to personal palliative care, always doing the best possible care for her in every way. We as a family spent many hours with our mum, sometimes through
the night, the nurses were always popping in to check on our mum and giving us plenty of tea & coffee.

Let's face it - care homes do not attract the best of press reports of late and it was with some trepidation I entered Lincoln House some nine months ago. NOTHING is too much trouble. Headed by a most efficient management team the whole operation gels, from the very varied entertainments programme
to the facilities available. If you are considering a care home don't take my word, go and see for yourself!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.664)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.664) out of 10 for Lincoln House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.789 for Lincoln House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (146 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 180 Ratings = 4.789
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lincoln House Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
