My mother came into Lincoln House on March 27th, 2018.
Since she has been here, the home has treated her very well.
They have tried to manage her pain regularly and she has settled in after a little while as she was rather upset and distressed when she first arrived.
She is on CHC and her health
has not improved but they are managing her pain.
The staff are very good to her and we feel as a family that she is safe and being looked after.

I, being her daughter and looking after her for thirteen years plus, am so happy and relieved to have Lincoln House to put Mum in.
The experience her and the family have had is second to none. People and care are wonderful.
I can now rest and be relieved she is in safe hands.
Thank you to all the
staff, management and those who all play a part in running and making this a wonderful place.

My father has been in Lincoln House since March of this year. Lincoln House is exceptionally welcoming and has a warm homely feel.
My father is happy and settled, he has a comfortable room and enjoys waving to the staff and visitors as they pass his window. He enjoys a lovely breakfast each morning
in the breakfast room and then wanders to his favourite chair in one of the two cosy day rooms. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and caring and always have a smile on their faces. I have peace of mind that he is well cared for and safe. Thank you Lincoln House.

Pleasantly surprised! Residents happy and chatty with lots of laughter and my friend loves being there and hopes to stay.

The place felt fresh and clean and staff are very helpful. A very happy visit and has uplifted my preconceptions of a care home.

Before my wife became a resident. I made several enquiries about Lincoln House and decided this home was what my wife needed. Having been there since three days before Christmas 2017. All have been great and all the staff treat you like part of a large family "no" Mr or Mrs, just Christian names which
is good. Nothing is too much trouble and we all are pleased how my wife is looked.
Reply from E Bayne, General Manager at Lincoln House Care HomeThank you Ian - I am really pleased that you and your wife are happy with the care provided at Lincoln House.

Brilliant nursing care home. Viewing of the whole site was open/friendly - all rooms (bedrooms/offices/lounges/showers) could be seen. All staff spoke to us.

Once a resident, my mum had a homely bedroom, she felt it was hers and just like a real bungalow. The staff were so kind, accommodating and

saw to her every need. It was clean in the lounges, kitchen area and corridors. I, as a visitor, was always welcome. It was safe and phone calls to me were made directly when there was a change in condition.
Reply from Emma Bayne, General Manager at Lincoln House Care HomeThank you for your kind words - positive feedback is always shared with the team. I am really pleased that we made Mum at home and also welcomed her family.

I was very impressed by the end of life care offered to my father. The staff treated him with respect, compassion, tenderness and dignity. They were always accessible, warm, friendly and understanding towards me in the last weeks of his life. They communicated his situation to me clearly and kept in
regular contact. After his death, the staff dealt sensitively with family dynamics and needs. Their guidance throughout the process was invaluable.

Surroundings are excellent and well-furbished rooms and communal areas.

The care received by father was second to none with seemingly no problem that could not be overcome. From the admin staff through to the nursing staff, all were excellent and empathy with residents was very good.

There was

a wide variety in the choice of meals and food was always fresh and cooked to a very high standard and served hot.

Management were always available to discuss any issues and with nurses on site and a surgery nearby, there was comfort in knowing that help was always available.

An excellent home where smiles went miles. Thank you.

The staff brought my mother to my house in the mini-bus (my mother is wheelchair bound) so mum could enjoy her 90th birthday lunch with her 5 children who hadn't been altogether for 18 years. The staff collected mum and took her back to her room.

Incredible pleased with the home and Mum is happy

there.

It was such a stressful time when we knew mum could not live by herself anymore and we could not have found a more caring and loving home. The peace of mind we have with her living here is amazing and all the staff are awesome.

My Grandmother has been a resident now for over two and a half years. I can honestly say moving to Lincoln House was the best thing she has done for herself. My Grandmother is treated so well and looked after by some excellent staff. Staff are always incredibly friendly to us when we visit and are always
happy to answer any questions we may have.

I would certainly recommend Lincoln House as a caring and pleasant home.

What a wonderful welcome we received at Lincoln House when I accompanied my husband from hospital, for end of life care. Everyone is so friendly and relaxed, and the general atmosphere is homely. It seems nothing is too much trouble, from a shower at an odd time to a meal of food not on the menu!

The

visitors' kitchen is a useful facility for heating soup, getting ice for drinks or making a cuppa! There are activities to entertain people but my husband enjoyed the peace and quiet and was checked regularly.

You won't find better!

My father needed palliative care. The carers were excellent, providing him and his family care with kindness, skill, and a smile. The food was fantastic, fresh local asparagus and sumptuous chicken pie would persuade him to eat if anything would. Many times they went out of

their way to go above and beyond to help; from admitting in record time to finding him lip salve.

Two other facts are important. First, life simply isn't always perfect (this is as close as it gets). They dealt with concerns as something to address, not be defensive about. That is so unusual!
The 2nd major plus is their GP. I have lots of experience of palliative care in nursing homes, and he is exceptional; up front, practical, and kind. I saw lots of examples of him going in (unpaid) out of hours and going way beyond what could be expected of a GP. Prior planning is key to a good death, and he planned effectively.

I am very grateful for the care they gave my father and his family, in his last days.

Reply from Emma Bayne, General Manager at Lincoln House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review us. Your positive and touching words will be shared with the team and our supporting GP. I am proud to be the General Manager of a team which goes the extra mile.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.664)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.664) out of 10 for Lincoln House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.789 for Lincoln House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (146 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 180 Ratings = 4.789
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lincoln House Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
