This home and the love and level of care is completely incomprehensible unless you experience this first hand.
The whole staff team are caring, thoughtful, conscientious and always make my relative smile.
The kitchen create the most delicious meals and the housekeeping team always ensure the home is fresh and beautiful. The maintenance always help with all the home improvements.
The nurses are approachable and keep me updated on everything.
The home manager is the nicest lady you could ever wish to meet, who made us feel completely welcome, safe, cared for and comfortable from the second we met her. She took extra special time to meet my loved one, spend time with him before admission and ensure everything was perfect from day one. We looked at 10 homes, Oak Manor was the 10th home we saw and we knew immediately.

I cannot recommend this home more to anyone looking for nursing care and more specifically dementia specialist care.

When you hand over your loved one for others to care for them you trust them to offer kindness and compassion at a difficult time.

Oak manor did just that. They truly cared for my father offering activities and birthday celebrations. Their kindness on the day he passed surpassed all expectations. He was treated as we were with genuine care. The staff are truly amazing thank you this will never be forgotten x

Oak Manor demonstrated an incredibly professional and empathetic approach when supporting and caring for my dad during the last few months of his life. He was always treated with dignity and care. His diagnosis of advanced dementia meant that sometimes his behaviour could be challenging, and a previous nursing home had struggled to manage him.
However from the moment he arrived at Oak Manor he appeared to relax and his placement gave him his dignity back during the final months of his life.
All staff, without exception were friendly and supportive, and welcoming whenever we visited, making us cups of tea and offering hugs when they were needed.

I'm so happy that my dad got to spend his final months with you and will be always grateful for the high standard of care and support he received while he was in your care.

My husband was admitted to Oak Manor in 2024 from a failing Care Home. The contrast between the two homes was stark. There are so many wonderful things to say about this home it is difficult to know where to start.
You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. The home is clean and gives the impression of being loved. The staff are amazing, they do a very difficult job but always professionally, with kindness, care and a smile on their faces. It is evident that they take pride in what they do and are valued for doing it.
This is very much down to the leadership, which is exceptional. They are highly professional, hands on, accessible, approachable and always willing to listen and act when required. The love and care they show to residents and their families is second to none; you feel as if you are all part of a family.
My husband died there recently and the care and support he and our family got from cleaners, care and nursing staff and management was truly wonderful.

Thank you so much.

My father came to Oak Manor in July this year for his final few months of his life. He had complex physical and mental health needs which required around the clock nursing and personal care. He was completely bedbound with limited movement. Every member of staff treated my father with dignity, kindness and patience. My father was not an easy man to look after but the whole team did everything they could to make him feel he was at his family home. We particularly want thank all the staff for their time and effort they took to set up a celebration for our parents 72nd wedding anniversary for the whole family. The support the whole family received in the last few weeks of our father's life was fantastic. Our mother particularly had huge support on her visits to see her husband and we were encouraged to spend as much time as we wanted to until our father died. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Manor for the care of a loved one.

All my dealings with staff doing a variety of tasks (in a testing environment with dementia patients)was that they all cared and took pride in their work.
The management who lead this team are exceptional. All the staff speak highly of their management team .This comes across in vibes of the place and that they like working there.

Happy staff make all the difference.

The care that our father received in the 3 months he was here was incredible. All the staff were kind, caring, knowledgeable and the communication was excellent at all times. The home felt like a home for the residents and the ethos is definitely 'We will fit around what the residents want and like" not the residents have to fit in, with the running of the care home.

My mother has been living at Oak Manor for six weeks and my family could not be happier with the care she is receiving. The staff are extremely compassionate and friendly, and the home is wonderfully busy with fun experiences for the residents. My mother, who has dementia, did not settle at all in two previous homes, and it was very difficult to find a new place for her, but at Oak Manor she has been welcomed with open arms. It has resulted in a real upturn in her levels of happiness and stability, which is a great credit to all of the staff. I highly recommend Oak Manor.

My Father was at Oak Manor for around 6 weeks and the care he received was excellent.
All the staff from Management through to the cleaners, were kind, happy and very friendly. We were always made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door.
My Father had dementia and the care provided was full of kindness, dignified, caring and with patience. As a family, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
The meals provided always looked very appetising, snacks and drinks were also provided in-between meal times.

As a family we were extremely happy that we picked this home for our loved one to be cared for.

The care and compassion shown to my relative in the short time he was at Oak Manor was exemplary.
The first things I noticed was the calm and relaxed atmosphere, the friendliness of staff, and the way staff treated people with empathy, respect and kindness. Staff clearly demonstrated the professional values I would expect.

As a registered nurse and a nurse academic, I would hold Oak Manor as an excellent example of how people with dementia should be cared for. I am so grateful to all the staff, especially the manager, who were so lovely to my relative's son and daughter-in-law after his death.

My dad has been living at Oak Manor for just over 2 months.
My first impressions were that the staff were all friendly and kind. The home clean and residents settled and well looked after.

After a short residency in another care home, my Dad was moved to Oak Manor.
He has some quite tricky care needs and has in the past been difficult to look after, our family were a little nervous about him being moved to another home that potentially couldn't manage him.
We needn't have worried. The staff are all amazing, walking angels there is so much love and care given to not just every resident, but their families too.
My Dad is a retired priest and we discovered that the staff have been singing hymns to him to calm him when he is anxious for instance. The activities co-ordinator went out of her way to find 'Sing Together' videos that my Dad was in and bought a giant screen into his room so he could watch it.
While we visited, every member of staff popped their heads into the room to say hello to Dad and our family and it was clear that they are all passionate about delivering exceptional care.

This place is outstanding, amazing people and care. Thank you.

My Father was welcomed into the home by very friendly and caring managers and staff. His room was made up with his personal belongings all set up for him. In the 8 months my mum has now been a resident at Oak Manor I can't fault the care she gets. It was a slow unsteady start for her getting used to somewhere/something new but all the carers made sure she felt at home and although there have been challenges along the way they have always kept my mum safe and secure and felt part of the family, I've witnessed this first hand. The room she has is beautifully decorated warm and cosy the meals are nutritious and there are always drinks/tea/coffee. All the carers are amazing and I'm so so thankful for each and every one.

The manager runs a great ship.

Laura Older
Laura OlderJob Title:Home Manager

I’ve always wanted to work in care – it is my passion, and I feel extremely fortunate to be the home manager at Oak Manor.

I began my career in care by volunteering at a nursing home, and I loved every second of care home life. As I became a senior carer, I decided I would fulfil my dream of becoming a nurse, studying adult nursing and gaining a first-class degree. As a qualified nurse, I drive the highest standards of person-centred care. Although I love being a nurse, I also love being a manager, with the ability to influence positive change, which I get great satisfaction from.

Getting to know the people we care for, seeing them happy and improving their lives holistically is one of my greatest motivations. Our residents must always be the centre of all we do. When residents choose to make Oak Manor their home, every day will remain just as they like it, with careful note taken of their preferences, from waking times to food choices, hobbies and interests.

We are here for you and your loved ones every step of the way to help, and we will do all we can to put our residents and their families at ease. The most important thing is that they are happy.
