Mum has been here for over five years. The staff are always very welcoming when I visit. The care Mum receives is very good. The activities have improved recently as they have a new activity manager.

The staff were very attentive and kind. Staffing levels appeared good. Procedures were professional and logical. The decor of the home was modern and appealing with specific features designed to help residents. The layout of the home is good with the residential community on the top floor. Access between
floors by lift. A good range of activities but with fewer at weekends, the missing factor here was physical exercise for residents especially those that need encouragement for their health. Food menus were very good (English) but sometimes portion sizes were small.

My experience of this care home has been 1st class in the 5 years I have been here. All the care staff are very good and the entertainment with activities is excellent.

My mother is new to the home. All the staff have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. Staff are committed to learning what Mum needs with her limited communication, gaining her trust and maintaining her dignity ad comfort. I have been very reassured by the professional and caring approach
and commitment to ongoing communication. However, I do ask that staff continue to remain very calm and kind with Mum when she is frustrated and challenging. Please just give her time and company.

I stayed at Alice Grange for a week's respite whilst renovations were completed at my home which was local to the home. I brought my own need and hoist etc. I found the room small due to the size of my bed and I was unable to access the external door. I also had a toe injury and this was treated well
by the nursing staff. I found all the carers very friendly and was happy with them helping me. My hoist is not the usual one but they were all happy to use it with my guidance.

I have visited several friends in different care homes all of which are not a patch on Alice Grange. Everything about it is absolutely perfect. The staff are always there but in the background. Unobserved by me but always there when needed.

My husband was bought here from hospital immediately the first impressions were great. Lovely decor, warm and very clean. The staff welcomed my husband and myself and very quickly attended to his needs. His comfort was paramount to all staff.

The care, love and attention given to me by all members of the care team and management were always outstanding. The amazing staff helped me in the most possible way. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, from the lady who runs Barchester Alice Grange Care Home, the lady that fills up the
coffee and the nurses and care staff, they are all just lovely. Thank you for everything!

We have been really pleased with the level of care that Alice Grange has been able to deliver for my very poorly wife. All the staff work tirelessly to ensure that all my wife's needs are met. When issues arrive and staff are made aware they are very quick to find solutions and do not ignore requests
or concerns as previous homes we have been to have done in the past. All the residents seem happy and relaxed which, we feel, is down to the cheerful, positive attitudes of the carers. The activities provided are well-planned and appropriate with excellent variety. The staff are really enthusiastic and engage the residents effectively. The food is excellent.

I spent ten days at Alice Grange for respite care after knee surgery. I was very impressed with the standard of care I received. The staff were very friendly, caring and supportive.
My room was spacious and very comfortable.
There was a good choice of meals available. It was only on the Sunday that
I felt the staff were rather stretched.
I would be more than happy to visit again should the need arise and would recommend it to my friends.

This review relates solely to the efforts of the activities coordinator and her team went to make my Mum’s 100th birthday party a memorable occasion. This was in spite of the difficulties created by the Covid outbreak in the home and the heat. I am sure that when Mum has had time to reflect on the
day’s events, she will realise what hard work and commitment the staff have made. A big thank you also goes to the chefs for making the cakes and catering for the family lunch.

Dad entered the care home in April 2021 and was met with smiling faces which was good as he was very apprehensive about going. He settled in well and received excellent care. I was made very welcome and I was able to bring my own bed, chair and books. This made the move much less difficult for me. The staff were very understanding and have really made a massive difference to my well-being. They are kind and helpful and they are good people and know the best for me.

Over the last 14 years, I have had the privilege of serving the healthcare sector by managing and leading frontline care services for our elderly population. I have come into contact with many individuals who have willingly shared their life experiences and wisdom. This has reinforced my sense of duty and heightened my level of respect for our elders.


My passion is person-centred care. I truly believe in the values of responsibility, integrity, kindness, compassion and doing what we can do for others. I love to see my residents happy with full smiles on their faces, content and having a quality of life whilst in our care.


The team and I are fully committed to embedding the core principles of empathy, care, compassion and integrity in the Alice grange community.
