The care home is excellently run in all areas. My husband is very happy there and the attention to his needs at all times is very good. The staff work very hard to accommodate all possible things to be done for all the residents. Everything that is done for the residents and my husband cannot be faulted. My husband and I feel very lucky that he has the care that he receives from them.

Reply from Eden Tomlinson, Customer Service Adviser at Chilton Meadows Care Home

Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your husband's stay as comfortable as possible.

Cannot complain, a lot of staff, most, are very helpful and friendly. Would like to say a big thank you to the activities. More of different choices are possible on menu? A lot of money, but I'm guessing down to the government.

My mother went into Munnings House, initially for respite care in February 2023. She is now a permanent resident. The staff have been absolutely amazing. Every person there, regardless of job role, go out of their way to help. They made her so welcome and show such kindness and warmth. I was supported also in the transition of leaving my mum. Nothing is too much trouble. I know she is cared for and happy. I couldn't ask for a better home for her.

Reply from Fran Donno, Customer Service Adviser at Chilton Meadows Care Home

Thank you for your kind words. We hope Chilton Meadows Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. It is always nice to hear words like 'kindness' and 'warmth' being used to describe our care and we are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. We hope to continue providing your mother with the best possible care.

My mother spent her last couple of months at Beech House Chilton Meadows.
From the moment we arrived everything felt right.
The staff were on hand, always alert, kind and respectful.
The accommodation is basic however, the whole building is maintained well, is kept clean and the services provided for residents are good. Food is really up there. A menu every day which most people would be pleased to see in any restaurant. Having already been in a prior care home Chilton Meadows was a breath of fresh air. Thank you Chilton Meadows for looking after my mother, for showing her the kindness you did and for caring for her. I know she was not easy but you all appeared to manage her. A safe, kind and warm environment best describes Chilton Meadows.

Keep up the good work.

My dad has been a resident since December 2022 and has been there for eight months. As a relative, I feel confident in knowing my dad is safe and happy at the care home. Although there have been some changes in staff during this time, it has always been positive. The new unit manager has a “can do” attitude and works hard to build motivation in the staff, as well as a positive and caring environment for residents. Staff will go that extra mile, and after conversations with them, I can leave knowing my dad is in good hands. What a great team!

My nan has just reached the amazing age of 100 years old. This is with the care she has been receiving from Chilton Meadows Care Home. She has been a resident for over five years and is very well looked after.
To celebrate her birthday they organised a buffet lunch and lots of decorations which was so special. This was followed by a birthday party on the grounds outside with a singer and lots of fun and laughter.

Thank you to each and every one of you that is caring for my nan, we are forever grateful.

Mum spent fourteen months in Chilton Meadows Care Home after her dementia became too much for us to cope with at home. She was as settled and happy as her dementia allowed her to be and we found the staff to be very patient and caring with her even when she was sometimes agitated. We will be forever grateful to Chilton Meadows because their help allowed us to have a relationship with Mum again prior to her passing.

Amazing care home. The staff are attentive and caring.
My mum has only been here a couple of months and loves it. She gets involved with all the activities. Being surrounded by lovely caring staff has transformed her life.

In her words, there is nothing to complain about she is well looked after and the food is nice.

My dad's room is filthy. I have taken many photos of this on two occasions when visiting the home. His water hasn't been changed for days. This was brought to the attention of the staff. My dad has complained that the water is not hot enough to have a shower. He has also stated that he doesn't know what choice of meals before he actually gets to the table. His room has been due for repair for months, and still, nothing has been done about it.

Mum has been at Chilton Meadows Care Home for nearly a month now and is now there permanently. She is settled and so much happier getting the most amazing love and care. The staff on manning house have gone above and beyond with the care that they give my mum, she is always smiling and laughing. The care assistants are such fantastic ladies and are always there when I have questions, so they don't just care about my mum they have also supported myself and family too. One of the care assistants has always kept me updated on my mum and her progress. And we go to see Mum once a week and FaceTime at least once a week too. Looking forward to seeing Mum on their day trip to Felixstowe.

Mum was in a lot of pain with her leg and was given paracetamol on my asking and taken back to her room. I am a lot happier with Mum's care since the new lady has taken over in Mum's unit. She's more involved with activities, although is unable to take part but likes watching. Mum has her hair done by the hairdresser but I would like it washed more often in between appointments. I understand Mum's room is being decorated this week which will be a big improvement. Mum's weight is steady so I understand she is eating well. Overall, I'm a lot happier with Mum's care and the staff are very nice.

The unit staff are wonderful and despite being clearly stretched, do everything they can to make Mum happy and comfortable.

However, extremely disappointed with the lack of engagement from the senior management which has been non-existent the whole of 2022.

There is always a good atmosphere at Chilton Meadows Care Home, my mum has been in Munnings House for nearly eighteen months with advanced Alzheimer’s. The staff are always caring and respectful to Mum. Communication is great, always contacting me if necessary regarding Mum's care. The food is fabulous and Mum eats very well. Mum appears very happy here and responds well to staff. She likes to sit in the office and the staff are happy to let her. I’m really happy with Mum's care, especially during Covid, the home made good decisions about visiting and I always got to see Mum. They coped well during very difficult days and I appreciate that I was able to see Mum. I would recommend this care home.

My dad was at Chilton Meadows Care Home, Munnings House for the past two years. He had Alzheimer's and I was pleased with the levels of care and attention he received. He was always well kept, enjoyed the food and in good spirits. The consistent communication between the care manager, patient and family members was very helpful. Staff went above and beyond to make sure Dad had everything he needed and kept us informed, especially throughout lockdown when we couldn't enter the home. He has unfortunately passed away now but staff couldn't do enough to help. He was very settled, made comfortable and passed away with dignity. Thank you to all the Munnings House staff and manager.

Sadly my mother has just passed away after receiving five months of care which we could never repay! Care staff were caring and professional - and compassionate at end of life. Rooms were always spotlessly clean and the food served was always of a high standard. There was a varied activities programme for those who wished to be involved. Would recommend.
