A Victorian country house built in the 1860s by a naval admiral for his family, the Depperhaugh Nursing Home has been converted to accommodate adults who require 24-hour care.
The home is set in seven acres of beautiful gardens, with a large and picturesque pond. There is a wealth of wild birds to be seen - ducks, pheasants, wrens, woodpeckers, finches and barn owls - and often a glimpse of animal...

My brother has been a resident for 4 1/2 years. During this time he has been well looked after and he has been happy there. The staff are friendly and very caring. The facilities have been improved over this time - money well spent.
They are friendly and welcoming to the visitors and my cousin loves to have a joke with them which they react to and that makes him laugh.
Everyone one of the staff are very attentive and try to cater for everyone's needs, which must be difficult at times, but they give 100% effort in doing so.
I cannot praise the home and the staff enough for all they do for the residents and their visitors.
Well Done Depperhaugh!
Food is good. Friendly caring staff.
The new manager as of August is very good.
The Depperhaugh has a lovely atmosphere, extremely friendly and caring staff. It feels like 'home from home' when we visit. The Management are always available to chat and always keep us up to date and informed of events. The care for our friend is outstanding.
My daughter and I thought The Depperhaugh was welcoming, very clean, well managed. Residents were kept busy with activities and trips to Diss. Food was excellent and well presented. Registered nurse on duty 24/7. Care excellent. We would recommend The Depperhaugh to anyone.
Mostly I have found the staff caring and co-operative. My mother's possessions have gone missing and some have been restored to her. She does have no memory or control of what she has done with them (all are named). Some of her clothes seem unfamiliar.
My siblings and I have had to draw attention to, and arrange treatment for, ailments and conditions which needed attention. I am pleased with the entertainment provided.
Occasionally there is a strong smell of urine.
I feel my Mum is very well cared for and the staff are always very friendly, approachable and always ready to answer any questions we as a family may have. The day rooms are always kept clean and fresh looking. Mum always says she enjoys her meals. The grounds are well kept.
The care home is always clean and fresh. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is always a good atmosphere here. Most of the residents have dementia but the staff are very kind and attentive to them. The home itself is in a large old house with large rooms, high ceilings and lots of light. There is a large garden where it's lovely to sit in the summer. I would hate to be in a home but if I had to be, I would prefer this home to any of the others I have seen.
My father is extremely well cared for, his personal and medical needs are well catered for by a very professional, caring team of staff. All the staff are very kind to him and are now able to predict his needs as he cannot communicate with them very well. He could not be in a better place.
When visiting my uncle, he is always well cared for and his room is always clean and fresh. The home, in general, is always clean and the residents are happy and conversive.
During my wife's residence at Depperhaugh I can only praise the management and staff for their dedication to patients within the home.
My mother came to The Depperhaugh for end of life care and received the highest level of respect and nursing. I was also given support and guidance when she passed away. Everyone was so kind at a very sad and difficult time.

Meet the Team (3)

I have worked at Depperhaugh since January 2022 having come from Norfolk and Norwich Hospital having worked there for 17 years. At Norfolk and Norwich, I worked in Intensive Care and medicine for the Elderly and then became a Clinical Educator, and then a Ward Sister within Gynaecology. I chose to come to Depperhaugh Nursing Home because I wanted to come back to my roots, having started my care career in the same area. Person-centred care and offering residents dignified care has always been a passion for me and Depperhaugh is a great place to embrace this passion. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, walking with the dog and taking the opportunity to relax. Although my job comes with great responsibility it is incredibly rewarding to watch the home grow and evolve with great staff to support me.

After qualifying as a nurse in my homeland of Romania, I moved to England to work for Kingsley Healthcare. I have worked at The Depperhaugh for over 9 years, joining as a staff nurse in December 2014. We are lucky to have many long-serving staff who see this as their home and regard the residents and their colleagues as family. I love working with people and, as a qualified nurse, I like to get involved in the care side as much as the management side. I like to see people getting better as it means we are doing our job properly.

I started work at The Depperhaugh in August 2019 as a support worker. I enjoyed my time in care and covered a mixture of both days and nights. I have a caring nature and take pride in my work, so when the head housekeeper position became available, I was ready for a new challenge. I am proud to be part of a hardworking team that ensures the home is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. We received great feedback and appreciate that people are aware of our hard work.
