Staff are amazing & could not be more helpful toward my dad. They always say hello when I visit and the home feels welcoming. The home is always clean, but could do with some modernisation in some area's.

Since my father has become a resident, he has been cared for by empathetic and professional staff. I have witnessed them making him feel valued as a human and not just some old man in his final stages of life. As a dementia sufferer, he can be unpredictable. The staff are always patient with him. Reception staff are always welcoming and attentive.

TOTALLY RECOMMEND KIRKLEY MANOR ! - As a family we recognised that my Father was in need of some additional care, immediately as respite, but potential leading to full time residential care. Having never had to deal with this we were rather lost as to the process but having read online reviews and CQC ratings websites we contacted Kirkley Manor. From the very start PROFFESIONALISM shone through, from the original enquiry with Chloe, to the show round with Troy, they took care of us with the deepest of respect. Lavinia came to my Fathers house to do the initial assessment and a few days later we were able to take my Father. Initially aprehensive of course, EVERYONE he came into contact at Kirkley was amazing, compassionate and caring. Sarah the Manager, Donna the 'drug lady!', Tracey the Carer, but unfair to name them indvidually as this is a real TEAM EFFORT. My father really enjoyed the quality of food, and he said 'if this is where I need to be, then I give it the thumbs up!.

Very apprehensive about finding and moving mom into a residential care home, however with dementia and Alzheimer's mom was going out at night time and getting confused about how to get home. Took mom for a visit to Kirkley manor along with my brother to look around and assess the facilities and environment. Was greeted and given a tour of the building and showed the activities time table, bathrooms/ shower rooms dinning rooms and lounges and also the bedrooms. Staff are always friendly and smiling and treat you as family on visits. Mom has already settled in very well and looks so much better after a few weeks. Any issues and I can call and likewise if they need anything from me they can always call me. This home smells really clean and doesn't have the strong disinfectant smell of other homes that I have visited. Really pleased with our choice of care to look after mom.

I work at a local Teaching GP practice. I contacted Kirkley Manor to see whether I would be able to bring some students to visit and meet with the staff and residents there as part of their GP training.
From first contact all the staff there were friendly, helpful and eager to support us. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the students had a wonderful time. We all commented on the beautiful building, the rooms, the gardens, and the freedom and choices the residents have in Kirkley Manor. Its clear they focus on patient centred care, and the needs of the individual is priority.
The students were given ample time to talk to lots of residents, and they too loved meeting the students and hearing how their training was going.

One of the comments from the students at the end of the day was the wish that they could visit every week! Overall and very lovely, bright, welcoming home with clearly caring and dedicated staff.

I found the staff very kind, helpful and courteous at all times even in the middle of the night. Nurses were extremely understanding and gentle and totally efficient when changing dressings and wound. My only complaint would be the "toilet in the cupboard" which I found extremely difficult to negotiate and it would have been so much nicer had it been larger or if an ensuite was provided for each room.

Apart from the above, the chefs always tried to supply me with any food requested but not on the menu. The bacon sandwiches with lashings of brown sauce were delicious at breakfast time. I will miss them. I made some good friends with members of staff and have only fond memories and my thanks for all they did for me.

I visited my father on a number of occasions during his time in Kirkley Manor. I was always welcomed as a visitor and staff were very caring to my father. It was a long illness and a difficult time for the family, staff were very supportive and my father was looked after very well. When he died I was impressed at how well this was handled. I would like to express my thanks to all the staff in Kirkley Manor.

The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There are activities for residents to get involved in. I know my mother is in safe hands when I'm not there. The carers always have time to speak to you, even when they're busy. They sit with my mum and chat with her when she's worried and confused. The nurses always keep me informed on my mum's condition and will explain to my mum why she needs her medication.

This is our first time experience in a nursing/care home and found it very friendly and understanding, always something for residents to do even if it's just watching a film or playing games always a good cup of tea at hand if needed. Hygiene is very good, clean and smelling fresh, very good caring staff, a helpful receptionist and a smartly dressed dining room.

Every time we have visited my mother-in-law she has been engaged in activities, from crafts to singing. The staff have always been so accommodating from the care assistants to the manager and not to forget the receptionist who seems to know everything. My mother-in-law reports the food is lovely and I must say it smells nice. The home is clean and tidy without being clinical and it smells sweet. The grounds are very well maintained, full of colour even in November.

This is our family's first experience of a care home for our mum and I can personally say that it is run very professionally, it is very clean and all the staff are very patient and caring.
Food and hygiene is excellent and the care home staff always make you feel welcome when visiting.

My mother has always been very anxious but since she has been in the home this has improved, that for our family means so much as it takes any anxiety away from us knowing she is very happy.

My mum became a resident in Kirkley Manor in May 2024, just for rehabilitation care after struggling with mobility issues. This is the first time Mum has been away from her home by herself after losing my dad last November. We knew she would struggle but the care she has received has been amazing. The staff have been friendly and helpful, she has loved her meals in the home. The home manager Gener has always gone out of his way to make sure Mum was getting everything she needed. Mum is now able to come home (July). Highly recommend to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.
