I know I made the right decision when Ken came to Rendlesham, it was hard as we had not been apart been married for 70 years but he soon settled in, he is very well cared for Ken's only down fall he has a catheter which is a headache some time but the medical team are exellent so have no worrys there. He has a nice down stairs bedroom looking out to garden which he loves and on a nice day sits outside, which makes him happy. He also enjoys his meals says pudding are better than mine, thank you all at Rendlesham for looking after Ken, when I go home I know he is in good hands, and also giving me a smile and chat.

Well it didn't last! My earlier review only reflected the situation for the first 4 weeks of Respite. After that things changed dramatically and ended up with me having to take my partner (who has Alzheimers) out of the home for her own protection and terminating the contract. Following 2 attacks from a patient with dementia she was moved to another section where everyone had physical issues not mental ones and they all remained in their beds all day. She had nobody to mix with except one guy with capacity who was allowed to take advantage of her. This was a shocking experience. If you care for your loved ones you should not bring them here.
We hold ourselves to a very high standard within Care UK and we are sorry to hear that this was not your experience.

Rendlesham provided very good facilities, the whole complex was always clean and welcoming. The staff were always helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They took very good care of my sister-in-law in the last months of her life.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We're pleased to hear that you found Rendlesham welcoming and well maintained, and that our team provided such caring support to your sister-in-law during her final months. Your thoughtful words are greatly appreciated.
I chose to come to Rendlesham Care Centre after having hip replacement surgery for onward recovery. The staff are all lovely and so friendly and helpful. The place has a good feel about it. I was able to join in with activities which I really enjoyed. My room was sunny and contained all I needed for my two-week stay.

My aunt's stay at Rendlesham Care Home has been a wonderful experience for her and myself. I can't find fauly in any area of her care here. Unfortunately, as her care needs have changed over the last few months, a closer home to me would mean I could see her more regularly. I can't say thank you enough for the wonderful care she has had.

Thank you to Rendlesham Care Home. My mum enjoyed her three-week stay. Mum went into your care after having several falls at home. We are pleased to say she is now regaining her confidence. The staff and management have been brilliant, delivering very friendly expert care.
Thanks very much for taking the time to leave us this lovely review. It was great to have your mum staying with us, and we're delighted she's now feeling more confident following her falls. If there's ever anything else we can do to support her, please do get in touch!
My short stay was made very comfortable and I enjoyed Christmas. I should be back again for two weeks, after I get or if I get my op for hip replacement. Management and staff were all very kind and caring.
Thanks very much for taking the time to review us! We're delighted to hear that you were so happy during your stay over Christmas, and look forward to supporting you when you return after your hip replacement.
My dad is getting very good care. He is being well looked after. Dad just said he loves it here!
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear your dad feels so happy and well cared for - it means a great deal to our whole team.
I always find the staff here very pleasant, nothing is too much trouble to them, my sister is happy; her room is always clean and tidy and the kitchen are always helpful with her meals.
We're so pleased you're happy with the experience and that your sister is happy here. Please just let us know if there is anything more we can do to support, or if there is something your sister would like the chef to prepare, just say the word.
Mum is happy & settled here since April 2025.
We're so glad to see you mum so happy with us at Rendlesham Care Centre. Please let us know if there is ever anything more we can do for her.
Friendly welcome, clear explanation of visitor registration. Escorted to my friends room. Given cup of coffee by nice member of staff which was much appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. It's always a pleasure to welcome friends and family to our home, and we're glad you enjoyed your visit. Please do come again soon.
The care home has a happy atmosphere, all the staff are friendly and caring, making a visit on a pleasure.
Thank you for recognising the happy atmosphere the team at Rendlesham diligently strive to create. Your kind words will help to inspire the team to maintain their high standards.
The room was not fit for use, no water in the cold tap, broken loo roll holder, loo seat to low for elderly person and no grab rail. No bedside light and light switch to overhead light by door. Room door "whumped" each time the door in corridor was opened. Snail trails on carpet in room. Broken alarm call. Mother not dressed properly, no socks and no bra, and pad on wrong way round. Mother found in tears on first day of stay and intimidated. Had been told was never going to leave again. When we said we'd take her out for a cup of tea she said she wouldn't be allowed to come. Fellow resident, who spent his time in the dining/common room, shouted continuous stream of filth. Not his fault but not suitable backdrop for mother's meals. When we removed mother, after two nights, an item of clothing had been lost and to this day not found. (It was labelled.) All subsequent calls to care home met with promises to call back but that never happened. Cold water in tap and other issues not resolved.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We pride ourselves on the resident experience and are sorry that on this occasion, you found it has fallen short of the usual positive feedback we receive. We understand that you are in close contact with the management team at the home, who are committed to learning and improving from feedback.
The staff have always been approachable, friendly and efficient. Though I haven't had a chance of personally witnessing activities within the home, there seem to be various things for the residents to take part in and invitations to them regularly offered to residents. I am most impressed by the standard of food. Residents are made to feel really at home with freedom to come and go, as they please (if safe) and take part in as much or as little as they want. Overall a caring and pleasant care home. Well done!
Thank you for sharing your kind words about Rendlesham. It's wonderful to hear that you have found the team approachable, friendly and efficient, and that residents are given the freedom to feel truly at home, with the choice to take part in activities as much or as little as they wish. We're...
The care centre has a very lovely and bright environment whilst also being very safe and secure which is something I noticed almost immediately. It is very clean and welcoming and the staff are lovely. I am mostly escorted by the activity staff and sometimes Community Relations Manager. I was impressed that they knew all the residents personally and they try and introduce me to everyone. It's great to see the residents interact with Scout, I think she really makes a difference. Scout loves all the attention and fuss and we always leave there with great sense of satisfaction knowing we have made a difference to someone's day.
To be honest, it was Rendlesham care home that inspired me to become a PAT dog owner, we both get so much enjoyment from our visits and it's lovely to get to know the residents, they always have some lovely memories to share.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and for volunteering at our home, our residents and team look forward to you and Scout visiting, your visits have had a positive impact on our residents who enjoy making a fuss of Scout and sharing their stories with you. We look forward to seeing you both when you next visit.
What a fantastic care home. My father was there for the last 9 months of his life. He had Alzheimer's and was both mobile and at times aggressive so a difficult patient to look after. Finding a suitable home was to prove a major issue; after short stays he was rejected from two care homes and I tried to get my father into some 17 other care homes. Eventually I found Rendlesham Care Home which accepted him and looked after him with great care and affection. The care home got him on the right medication, he settled in and spent the last few months of his life as happy and comfortable as one could hope for - a big thank you to all the wonderful staff who looked after my father in his last days.
Many thanks for your lovely comments about the care your father received while with us, it was our privilege to care for your father and to hear that he was happy, settled and felt at home with us means everything , the care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families is...
The staff work and interact as an understanding, high standard, kind, knowledgeable and compassionate in every aspect of a quality team approach to and for my darling husband! Our son's friends, and family have offered excellent feedback, on their regular visits. The sense of calm and attention for the residents and staff team alike, truly is heartwarming, impressive and reassuring. Thanks to all.
Many thanks for your lovely comments about the care your husband is receiving, as a team we are dedicated to ensuring our residents are happy, safe and well looked after as part of our Rendlesham family, we are pleased your loved ones and friends have enjoyed their regular visits to us their feedback is appreciated as well.
My friend loves it here. The staff are all friendly and they enjoy the meals here. They also love the room they are in. Rendlesham Care Centre is in a lovely corner of Suffolk, near Woodbridge which is great for a lovely day out.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review. We're happy to hear that your friend is receiving such great care, enjoying the meals, and the friendly atmosphere created by our team at Rendlesham Care Centre. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.
