My mother was in Aldringham Court for three weeks following a stroke. She was 95.
The kindness, respect and care that all the staff gave to her was superb.
The kindness and care they showed me, as her daughter, was second to none. Making sure I was ok and fed and watered in the hours I was sitting with Mummy.

Thank you.

My parents (both mum and dad) have been at the home for a few months and on every visit (which is a 5-hour drive from Somerset) I have been made to feel very welcome and all the staff have been so helpful and courteous. Mum and dad are so well looked after and are very happy considering their ill health. The food is amazing and always hot and healthy. I feel safe in the knowledge that my parents are safe and well cared for considering the distance they are from me.

My father had urgent need for care after discharge from hospital and the home rose to the challenge of addressing this need. My father enquired on the Friday, I visited the home on the Saturday. The home manager came out to assess my father on the Sunday and my father was admitted to the home early afternoon on the Monday. The manager and staff have since made my father feel really welcomed and safe in his new surroundings. I could not have asked for a more professional and caring service.

We were grateful to Aldringham Court for caring for our mum (age 94) for 2 weeks' respite after 3 weeks in hospital. The manager was lovely - exceedingly person-centered and has plans for improving facilities and gardens. The staff were polite, kind and respectful.
Nice building and lovely furnishings. I would like to hope that all the manager's plans for a family room, a better minibus, nice gardens etc all come to fruition.

I thought some of the staff needed more leadership - some were new and lacked confidence. I was not sure who everybody was and their different roles.

As a family, we have been very pleased with the care that Mum has received at Aldringham Court.

The staff have been very attentive and we cannot praise the manager enough. The home is kept spotlessly clean and food has been very good indeed. All in all, we would give the home, staff and manager 10/10.

I found the home a very friendly experience. Everyone was most friendly and conjured up a family experience with people most friendly to each other. Cleanliness was to the fore. The manager was most accommodating and helped me in all my queries.

Beyond my wildest expectations. I'd never have thought my father could progress so far so fast and it's all down to the dedication and understanding shown by the whole team at Aldringham. His physical and mental strength is now unrecognisable from the frightened, depressed and anxious man that arrived just a few weeks ago. I'm so grateful his quality of life has been returned to him.

Over seven years, my husband has been once a year for two weeks of respite to give me a break. As soon as I arrived with my husband to show him around the nursing home, I was so impressed with how we were received. Staff were excellent, could not do enough, we were taken "everywhere". A lovely home, my family visited my husband while I was away and all said staff fell over themselves to help and care for him. I know he enjoyed it by what my family saw, he played me up so I know staff had a hard time with him. I would love to have my husband in Aldringham Court in June.

I could not ask for better care for my mother it was hard enough to accept she could not stay at home but the only thing that eases that is the fact she is here, it is wonderful, they are all so friendly and always have time to discuss any queries I have. Thank you to everyone

It was my husband's 80th birthday, and the home provided us with a lovely buffet for our family gathering. Chef also made a lovely birthday cake. It helped to make my husband's birthday a day to remember. A good time was had by all.

The staff are very friendly and professional. My sister seems to be quite happy in your home, although I think her room is very small - no view and the bedlinen seems very old - could be better.

Elaine really enjoys working with the elderly, she finds it so rewarding and loves her role.
Prior to working at Healthcare Homes, Elaine was an Activities/Health Care Assistant.
Elaine believes you need to be kind, compassionate and understanding, to have a good understanding of dementia and the needs of the very ill and frail and to have an understanding of equality and diversity.
The favourite part of her working day is going to the resident’s rooms for one-to-one talks and also enjoys organising entertainment and watching and taking part.
Elaine's biggest professional challenge was changing from her carer role to activities and her biggest career highlight is getting the home ready for Christmas and organising events for the residents.
The qualities that make Elaine stand out are to be kind, compassionate and understanding. Be a good listener and a good role model for the team
Outside of work Elaine enjoys walking, gardening, crafting, sewing, crochet, knitting, swimming and spending time with family.

Her most enjoyable part of working at Aldringham Court is making a difference to an individual’s day; just a little smile or reassurance.
