Moving Mum to a care home from the hospital was a traumatic experience for our family, especially as she has been used to one-to-one live-in care at her own home previously. We need not have worried! The staff and management at Aldringham Court made us all welcome and did the utmost to ensure Mum settled in quickly. During Mum's eight months at Aldringham Court, she was always treated with care and respect, ensuring her wishes were seen to and her dignity preserved. The home and grounds were well maintained, the choice of food and drink was excellent, and the overall care and attention Mum received was excellent.
It was Nan's 100th birthday today and the care home done absolutely amazing! Such a positive vibe and place to be. Cakes and entertainment. Made sure everyone was okay and happy. Thank you to all the careers.
Always friendly and approachable and staff willing to help.
Have a good choice of food for the residents and lovely activities.
Lovely house and surroundings with beautiful gardens, good choice of food and activities. Like how the staff join in and are very approachable. Staff are friendly and certainly work hard to please all.
Found the care home clean but found the care very poor especially as it was end-of-life. My dad's care book was not filed in for hours, so was there anyone going in to see him? His personal care was not good. Dirty cups left overnight and food. The home lost our contact details. There seemed no organisation. Went to collect my dad's things and the staff didn't know he had passed away. Just think he was a room number, not a dad.
Thank you for taking the time in reviewing our home as we take great care in listening to what our customers say. I am very sorry to read your feelings towards a hard-working team, wanting to do the best for our residents. when...
My brother called the home this morning and asked them to take mum out of the bed so we can take her outside. I last took her outside for some fresh air a week ago last Saturday, considering mum is locked away in her room 99% of the time, they just turned up at the care home and they were told they're not allowed to take mum outside and they have to stay in the lounge. I went in after and asked them why they are not allowed to take mum outside today but they didn't answer. I asked who gave mum breakfast, again no answer. Whoever gave it to her didn't wipe her mouth after, so she had dried food around her mouth.
Both staff and management were very good in all aspects of running the home, both for residents and visitors. My mother was very happy there with staff care, food, and activities. All phone and email contact was very good.
Thank you for your lovely review, I will pass this on to all staff. It was a pleasure to have your Mum with us and we look forward to staying in touch.
My only complaint has been a lack of communication, but this has improved since the appointment of the new manager. I am not really in a position to comment on options, as I am not allowed in due to Covid. My husband makes complaints, but always had done, and some may be attributed to his condition.
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review, we value your feedback and will continue to try to communicate with all families during this difficult time. This is made easier with your regular visits and an opportunity to talk face to face. We are very grateful for the support you give us to provide the best possible care to your husband.
All staff have been very pleasant and welcoming and happy to help with any queries or problems we have had. Extra measures have been carried out with care and efficiency.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review. I will pass this feedback on to all staff.
My father has been in Aldringham Court for the past two years and has settled here and seems to be happy with the care he is receiving. This is now his home and I hope he has a few more quality of life years left at the Court. Thanks to everyone! in these difficult times.
Thank you for your lovely review and we hope we have many more years working together to keep Dad happy and safe.
My mom has been in residence here for 4 years now and is very comfortable despite the difficulties with lockdown. The staff work very hard to see residents are well looked after and we appreciate this very much.
Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review. We are working very hard to expand our activities programme and would be happy to receive any feedback for things that you feel Mom might enjoy.
The staff are always friendly and helpful but kept very busy at times. They are able to have their own television in their rooms which is good. It will be nice when they can go outside again when the weather gets warmer.
Thank you Dana for taking the time to give us such a lovely review. I will pass this on to all staff.
Aldringham Court has become a really lovely home. The staff and management do their utmost to keep residents and relatives happy.
Thank you for such a lovely review, we will continue to work hard to ensure all residents, families, and friends are happy and involved in the activity of the home.
After an initial period of respite care in the home, my mother deteriorated when back home and the staff were incredibly helpful in arranging a speedy readmission. The response to her immediate care needs provided my mother with relief from some of her symptoms. Staff are approachable and are handling the extra work that COVID precautions entail, with a smile. Knowing that my mother is being well cared for at this difficult time, provides me with peace of mind.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It is a pleasure to care for Mum and we thank you for all your support during this time.
It's awkward to review as we have not been in the home to visit for over a year.
My mum was very ill in hospital and wasn’t able to go home but needed respite in a nursing home, my mum cried and didn’t want to go into a nursing home at all, but finally agreed after a lot of talking and the reassurance she would go back to her own home after having respite. When I mentioned Aldringham Court mum agreed as she is from Leiston so thought she may know some of the staff and other residents, from the first day of mum being in the home she settled in very well and the staff were fantastic and made mum feel at home. Mum made great progress with the encouragement of the staff and after a couple of months decided she didn’t want to go back home she wanted Aldringham Court to be her home now, this has made my life so much easier as I know my mum is safe and being very well looked after. Speaking to mum on the phone regularly she is always happy and content. I couldn’t be happier with mum's progress.
Hi Kellie, thank you for such a lovely review I will pass this onto the staff. It is a pleasure to care for your Mum and we are so grateful for your support.
We couldn’t have asked for a better home for my mother in law to have had her final 4 months in. All of the staff are welcoming and so kind and loving to the residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble. We are eternally grateful to all of the staff at Aldringham Court for everything they did for her and us.
My mother was cared for in Aldringham Court following a catastrophic stroke in October 2012. It is a testament to the quality of care she received that she continued to live very comfortably until December 2019, over seven years afterwards, when old age finally caught up with her. My mother was quite a character and her situation did nothing to diminish her sense of humour which was appreciated over the years by several members of staff who I can honestly say became very fond of her. Thank you very much for everything you did.
Thank you so much for taking time to write such a lovely review. It really is much appreciated by us all.
Mum is well cared for and content. She likes the staff and she likes her room. I was made very welcome.
Thank you very much for taking the time to give us feedback - it really is much appreciated.
My wife was only in for a short time but the care she was given was so good I could not believe it was second to none. It was first class all the way. Unfortunately, my wife passed away. It was very hard to leave her at night but I could go home because the team would take care of her at all "cost".
Thank you so much for taking the time to send in a review. I am very proud of the Aldringham Court team and will be sure to pass on your comments!

Meet the Team (5)

I enjoy getting to know our residents and their families, ensuring everyone feels safe, supported and valued while leading a dedicated team committed to providing outstanding care. I have worked in care since 1999, gaining experience across nursing, residential and dementia care.

Prior to working at Healthcare Homes, Elaine was an Activities/Health Care Assistant.
Elaine believes you need to be kind, compassionate and understanding, to have a good understanding of dementia and the needs of the very ill and frail and to have an understanding of equality and diversity.
The favourite part of her working day is going to the resident’s rooms for one-to-one talks and also enjoys organising entertainment and watching and taking part.
Elaine's biggest professional challenge was changing from her carer role to activities and her biggest career highlight is getting the home ready for Christmas and organising events for the residents.
The qualities that make Elaine stand out are to be kind, compassionate and understanding. Be a good listener and a good role model for the team
Outside of work Elaine enjoys walking, gardening, crafting, sewing, crochet, knitting, swimming and spending time with family.
Her most enjoyable part of working at Aldringham Court is making a difference to an individual’s day; just a little smile or reassurance.

I take pride in keeping our home safe, welcoming and looking its very best for residents, families and visitors. With 25 years' engineering experience, including 20 years in care homes and hospitals, I love working alongside our fantastic team and helping to create a comfortable environment for everyone.

I love getting to know our residents and creating fun, meaningful activities for everyone to enjoy. With over 10 years' experience in care and a background in event planning, I'm passionate about making every day special for those who call Aldringham Court home.

I joined Aldringham Court in 2016 and have worked in care since 2008, after completing my Nursing Degree in Romania in 2007. I enjoy supporting our wonderful team and building strong relationships with our residents and their families to ensure everyone receives compassionate, person-centred care. I am currently working towards my Level 5 Diploma in Adult Care Leadership and Management.
