Every time I go to the home I always get a good vibe from all the staff, so I know my mum is safe there. I am probably there six days a week, 2 to 3 hours a day.

We were extremely fortunate to be able to see my mother happily settled at the Bloomfield Care Home. She is treated with the utmost respect and care and there is nothing that the staff won't do for her. She is 103 years old. Her family lives in Canada and the staff here have become her surrogate family. We couldn't be more thankful.

Mum arrived six weeks ago and from day one, the care, facilities and staff have been wonderful. The bedrooms, common rooms and gardens are inviting and the activities enjoyed by Mum most of the time. Everything has been thought of for the resident and family.

The entrance lobby is a welcoming space from the moment you walk into Barchester Bloomfield Care Home with tea and cakes and smiling staff, residents and family passing contentedly by.
The senior managers are inspirational leaders who never cease to amaze me with their professionalism, empathy and care - for me and my mother. Everything clearly runs like clockwork.
My mother's room is wonderfully maintained and always appears fresh. Mother has nothing but praise for the homecooked food and having eaten with her, I was equally impressed with the restaurant quality.
But what is most impressive is the incredibly high standard of nursing care and well-being support my mother receives. Staff are not just responsive to her requests, they anticipate her needs and clearly communicate well between themselves. The staff regularly ask for my opinion as to how they can make my mother feel as comfortable as possible.

I am extremely happy that my mother is in Bloomfield and it gives me peace of mind to know she is so well cared for. Throughout my mother's admittance and continuing nursing care, I have nothing but the highest praise.

From the time Dad arrived, the staff welcomed him and made him comfortable.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always on hand to help or give advice.
The food is wonderful, the rooms comfortable and the activities are on hand daily for all to participate.

As a family, we have been very happy with everything, including the staff interaction with us.

I experienced a rapid decline in my mother-in-law before she moved into Bloomfield, and the change in herself now has been amazing to watch.
Bloomfield is, without a doubt, a proper home where she is not only cared for but loved by everyone.
She has become part of a large family where all members of staff work and provide a very high level and standard of care towards everyone.

I was taken back by the amount of activities provided to stimulate mind, body and soul - absolutely five stars.

I was very apprehensive about committing to living the rest of my life in a care home, having read many varying reviews of them. However, Barchester Bloomfield Care Home is certainly a home-from-home in all respects. There is an excellent, varied menu and the meals are tasty and well-cooked. The staff are all very friendly and always ready to help. Assistance is never far away with the individual call bell. My room is a good size and I have some of my own furniture. The home is well-maintained and is always very clean. There is a weekly programme of activities which is varied to suit all interests.

Overall, after only a short while, I feel happy and well cared for in my new home.

We visited our nan for her 100th birthday and the staff were very helpful as always. They had prepared a lovely room with banners and large helium 1, 0, 0 balloons, along with food and drink. It made the day so special and enjoyable for all.

I'm so happy with the care my mother has been given since she arrived at Bloomfield Care Home, the manager and all staff members have been so kind helpful I cannot thank them enough, at my mother's last home she was left in her room all day every day and was just giving up on her life, now she has reason to live and I can see such a change in her, there are so many activities she can take part in and she is so much happier now.

Having transferred to Barchester Bloomfield Care Home (93 years) from a nursing home, my mother has been well cared for and her diet has vastly improved due to the time taken to help her with her meals and fluids. She has gained weight from the encouragement, having lost an awful lot of weight prior to being moved here. The management, team of carers, even the receptionist have all proved helpful, informative and caring. Due to living in another country (Ireland), I have peace of mind she is being looked after by caring and experienced people.

Staff were very friendly and caring and involved in the resident's care. All information regarding residents were passed on to staff members involved in their care. Staff kept relatives up to date with any issues and dealt with anything raised by family and fed back to family as well. Very happy with the care given and the welcoming atmosphere. Staff were happy and always said hello on visits. Food seemed very good with options offered. Activities on offer and were varied if clients wanted them.

I wanted to leave a review for the excellent care my dad received from all the care staff and nurses within the home. They were always so helpful and really showed that they cared for him and helped me when I needed support to understand why dad needed so much care. The management team was very good at explaining everything to me and gave me and my brother time with dad before he passed away. I would recommend Bloomfield to anyone who requires a care home. Thank you to everyone at Bloomfield.

I have been working in health and social care since 2005, I have a nursing background and achieved my Bachelor of Nursing in 2004. I love my job and find it extremely rewarding to work in a care home setting rather than a clinical hospital, I am privileged to have such a long-term involvement in someone's life and to make a difference in their day, putting a smile on their faces and helping them with any concerns they might have.

I am a mother to a lovely little girl, aged ten and the wife of a very supportive husband. We love spending precious time together and have many hobbies, such as playing the piano, singing, riding our bicycles and having friends around.

It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be able to get to know our residents, as well as their friends and family. Finding out and implementing what is important to them, as well as for them.

I joined Bloomfield in December 2025 and have really enjoyed becoming part of the team.
