We visited the home for Mum as a family. It felt right from the moment we arrived. We were welcomed by a very cheerful receptionist who offered us a drink in their really welcoming cafe area. We went into the manager's office, who told us all about her home. She exhibited great attention to detail and allowed us to ask questions.
We were then shown around the home. All staff greeted us with a smile, and more importantly, they had a good relationship with the manager. We could pick up that they respected her.
There were lots of staff everywhere.
The home was really up together, no malodours anywhere.
The bedrooms, although small, were clean with well-cared-for furniture.
Mum was then admitted this week after a very stressful period in hospital, and the detail all staff have gone into is tremendous. She saw the GP on her first full day, and we signed and assisted in the completion of risk assessments and her care plans and met with all key staff.

Mum is happy. She says the staff are kind and care well.

When Dad first moved into Barchester Bloomfield Care Home back in April. He was very happy there. He loved doing all the activities and got a lot out of them. He enjoyed the food. Most of the team on Ashway were absolutely fantastic in his last few days before Dad passed away. The unit manager and the staff were so professional in how they handled Dad and how they spoke to us. They kept us up to date on what was happening which was very comforting at the time. I would recommend Bloomfield to anyone. Thank you to you all.

Staff are really friendly.
My grandpa has settled well.
He really enjoys the meals.

You are always made to feel welcome when you visit and can pop in at any time, which is great as I often work shifts, so I know I can stop by anytime.

I cannot find any faults with the way Mum has been treated. From the friendly and caring admin staff right through to the nursing staff, Mum has always been treated with respect and dignity to a high standard. The food is freshly prepared and appetising. The reception is light and airy and immediately makes one feel welcome, always tea and coffee and delicious cakes. Rooms are comfortable, and bright and all areas are spotlessly clean. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers and nursing staff. Mum feels safe and is enjoying every day; she is now more animated and no longer lonely, which is all we as a family could ask for.

Living abroad it's difficult to ensure the safety and care of my grandma, however, I have found this in the staff/care team at Bloomfield. After coming out of hospital we needed to find a centre in which there would be tailored care and support that was built on a person-first philosophy. My family and I have witnessed this carried out during recent visits. The staff treat my grandma with both dignity and respect which is paramount.

I cannot rate the home highly enough. Mum is treated as an individual and is warmly greeted in name by all the staff as they go about their duties. The home has such a lovely warm and friendly, family atmosphere and provides plenty of activities to enrich the lives of the residents.

Mum says the food is amazing and the staff are so friendly. It is a lovely, clean and modern environment where I am quite happy to take my young grandchildren to visit Mum and they enjoy the lovely, free homemade cakes in the reception area. When I leave I go away happy knowing that Mum is being cared for in the best place she could be.

From day one, the care has been exceptionally high. All the staff are caring, and competent and treated Mum with dignity. All the family were made welcome and nothing was too much trouble, day or night. I'm glad we chose Bloomfield for Mum's final days, she was treated so well. You should feel very proud of all the staff here. Thank you so much to every one of you.

My mum lived in Bloomfield Care Home from April 2018 to September 2022. Her move involved being uprooted from her home of over 50 years, where she had lots of friends. Staff and residents supported her transition to this new way of life. For this, we are enormously grateful. From November 2019 she was blind, bedridden and very frail. All staff supported her and she built strong relationships with many, especially during Covid. Their love and care sustained her through months of having no visits. Despite her frailty, Mum continued to enjoy food. The kitchen staff were happy to produce food that she liked.

As a family, we always felt welcome and part of the team, helping Mum live a rich and often joyful life. Any problems that she had were dealt with professionally and with compassion. Mum was very sociable. She knew how hard everyone worked to keep her comfortable and appreciated their interest in her life stories and their embrace of family and friends from far-flung places.
