Summer Lane is a 120 bed purpose-built care home with an excellent reputation, providing elderly care for a range of needs.

The home has dedicated wings specialising in nursing care, dementia care and for general residential care. With 24-hour nurses on-site and top of the range facilities, the home is well-placed to deliver high standards of care in Weston-Super-Mare and surrounding areas. Residents enjoy a range of lounges and dining areas as well as café, hair dressing salon and outdoor seating areas.

Summer Lane Residential and Nursing Home became part of the award winning Country Court Care Group in June 2013. The home has good links with the local community and residents enjoy regular trips out and benefit from visits from community groups, churches and schools. A full range of activities based on their individual preferences provides residents with meaningful opportunities on a daily basis. Daily activities include light exercise, games, quizzes, baking, gardening and crafts.

We are very impressed with my mum's care at Summer Lane Care Home, nursing and facilities are also excellent. Mum is enjoying her stay at Summer Lane. Enjoys the coffee shop and socially with her co friends at the care home. Mum has dementia and is coming to terms with this is her new home. The staff
have been excellent. We have requested for mum to change rooms when available having garden access which benefit her wellbeing. Currently she not able to open her door to the garden because there's no security to stop mum leaving the care home (overlooking the garden)

I have been a permanent resident at Summer Lane Care Home since 2022. In that time I have found the staff here take their duties seriously at all levels. The carers complete their work cheerfully and well. The receptionists are welcoming and answer queries willingly. The catering staff will provide
whatever the residents request within reason. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. Visiting families have the use of the coffee shop and courtyard. Minibus outings are arranged by the activities team. Whatever level of care is needed it is well catered for.

After visiting various nursing homes in the area my son & myself were told about Summer Lane by a friend. We visited, what a difference. The reception area and receptionist were extremely helpful. We were shown round and what a difference. The care nurses were all enthusiastic about the residence. The
decor in the bedrooms, lounges etc was immaculate. We did not hesitate putting my wife in the care of all concerned. Many Thanks.

My wife became resident at Summer Lane Care home in late 2022. From the beginning she was treated with care, thought and love helping her to settle quickly to her new life. Carers helped with her personal hygiene without compromising her dignity, ensuring she is dressed in clean clothes and if they
become soiled, to change them in a matter of minutes. The activities co-ordinators are quick to find new things to keep minds and bodies active to enhance the quality of life. The food is good, nutritious and presented well. The nurses provide medical cover in an efficient way but when the alarm goes off, they act with speed, to see none of those under their care are in danger, or if need be, to take action as appropriate. Staff are approachable and would rather resolve issues as they occur than allow them to fester. Regular meetings are held between all parties to report on issues regarding the home, to hear ideas, and clear issues which remain unresolved. A very good home I commend it.

My husband was in Summer Lane for end of life care. It is an amazing place. It is really clean and welcoming. All of the staff are very friendly and kind. The rooms are immaculate. They have en-suite's and really nice furniture in them . The facilities are great including a hair salon and a nail bar.
It was a shame my husband had not gone in earlier, when he was not so ill. You walk in to reception, and it is like a hotel, the receptionists are all really friendly. Then you meet the nurses and the caregivers and they all acknowledge you and make you feel special. The gardens are really pretty. All together this is a really lovely Care home. The manager should be very proud of himself and all of his staff. A pleasure to have been able to visit my husband there , knowing he was being well looked after and cared for. I am so grateful My husband spent his last days there Thank you all

My Mother had a short period having respite care at the home before she passed away but in that period my family and I would frequently visit Mum in the home
We all were so impressed with the care she received and the home itself. It is a clean peaceful environment with so many lovely areas to sit
to watch tv, chat etc and lovey garden area... a number of places to have quiet time
The meals provided looked very appetising, sadly because of mum's condition she wasn't up to eating very much but what we saw the menu and saw Mum eat a little of the cuisine served, we were very happy with the food provided
The Care Home provided our much loved Mum with the best care and we are truly grateful to all the staff there for their commitment to giving our Mum such sympathetic care

My mum is end of life and can I just say all the staff from downstairs from reception, carers, tea ladies etc. have been absolutely fantastic. All so helpful and very caring towards myself and my mum. Nothing has been too much trouble. This nursing home deserves a lot of credit.

My mother has been in Summer Lane since August 24. She is well looked after, she is treated as an individual and all her care needs are facilitated with dignity and respect. I have no complaints at all. My mum is always happy and chatty clean and tidy. The cleanliness of the home is exceptional and
it always smells nice. Her room is lovely and homely having brought her stuff in from home to make it her room. All the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The reception staff are also very helpful and happy. I love visiting my mum and chatting to staff it's like our extended family. Summer Lane you shine. I will always recommend your home.
And the fine dining experience was absolutely amazing, and would definitely recommend this if they have a special occasion and want to celebrate with a meal with family. I'm happy that my mum is happy and that's what matters. The transition from home to care home was such an impeccable move.

Mum was placed at the home initially for respite but is now a permanent resident. It was clear from the very start that she was going to be looked after and her care needs met. All the staff are friendly, caring and empathetic not only to Mum but to the family too. It's peace of mind to know that she
is safe, clean and comfortable. The home provides an excellent environment with clean rooms, smart communal areas and excellent facilities. The care staff are fantastic - however, if some had better English that would help!

I honestly couldn't wish for my grandmother to be in a better home, the facilities are amazing and they provide everything and more.
The staff are all very friendly, accommodating and very professional.
The home makes everyone feel welcome and they treat the residents with dignity and respect and
the level of care is faultless.
My grandmother is so happy and content and it's a pleasure to visit her there.
The decor of the home is impeccable and the rooms are so comfortable.
The cleanliness of the home is fantastic and the food is all freshly prepared and always looks delicious.

The home always smells clean - excellent staff on reception = excellent. Always cheerful and helpful.
Cafe = a very nice feature. Most staff on duty here are chatty and helpful!
The food is excellent.
The care staff are very caring - however, if some had better English that would help! Many are
really excellent at caring.
Activities = not applicable for Mum, but I feel there could be more for many residents. This aspect feels light.

Whether it was the warm-hearted friendliness of the reception staff that greeted people visiting their loved ones, the kind and efficient care given to my father by the health care team, or the attention given to the cleanliness of the home itself. On the regular upkeep of the gardens situated at the
centre of the home's buildings. Summer Lane provided my dad in the last year of his life with an environment that was safe, caring and comfortable. Here the patient mattered, my dad was not just another sick person- a number on the list. The Summer Lane team treated him as if he were their own and we will always be so thankful to them for that.

My husband has lived in this nursing home for 2 years and has always received the most excellent care.

Summer Lane is modern clean and fresh whilst still giving a welcoming feel.
All staff whether management, admin, care or nursing have a welcoming smile and are ready to answer any questions or concerns.
My mother is unfortunately bedbound but we always see residents relaxing or involved in activities,
both inside and out with constant support by staff.

Mum has been here on the dementia floor for a little over a year now and is loving it. She is well cared for and comfortable. The staff are friendly and caring but sometimes communication can be an issue, especially when they phone my father, who is slightly deaf and struggles to understand accents
on the phone.
The home itself is so well thought out and the decor and furnishings are lovely. We especially like the cafe downstairs as it gives Mum the feeling she has been 'out'. It has also been a great place for my father to meet the families of other service users and share experiences and support each other.
