My mother was very poorly when she was admitted to Summer Lane, having not eaten for several weeks and suffering from a severe chest infection/UTI. The nursing care my mother has received there has been exceptional. Her improvement since January has been amazing. The carers have been able to gradually and gently persuade Mum back to eating a good balanced diet, and as her strength has improved, she can now spend time in the lounge and restaurant where she has company. The attitude of all the staff at Summer Lane is without exception open, friendly and helpful, and my mother is very happy there.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are so pleased that Mum has improved and is now able to take part in day-to-day life here at Summer Lane and, more importantly, that she is enjoying it. I will pass on your kind comments to my staff.
My mum became a resident of Summer Lane in August 2022. What I appreciate most about Summer Lane is the warm and accommodating management and staff. Moving to a care home was a hard transition for my mum, but I'm thankful despite the challenges early on, she was met with kindness, empathy and patience. Since then, I know she has grown to love each of the staff, enjoys joking around with them and giving them hugs. As her son who lives in America, I'm thankful she is not only in a place that provides the practical assistance she needs to take care of herself in this stage of her life but that she's surrounded by people who genuinely care about her.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home. We are glad to hear that you are happy with the care, kindness and empathy that we provide for your mum. I will share your kind words with the rest of the team.
Wow, from the initial welcome, the beautiful surroundings and most importantly, being listened to about Dad's needs. The wonderful care and relationship they have built with my precious Dad are amazing, and we are so grateful that he is in your care, and a big thank you to the team for the support that you also show us as his family in what was never our or my dad's ideal situation.
Thank you, Summer Lane.

My wife has been at Summer Lane since October 2021, in the secure dementia suite. The whole team at Summer Lane are wonderful caring professionals making sure my wife is extremely well looked after in sometimes very difficult circumstances. They also worry about my well being which a great reassurance for our children. I feel we are so fortunate to have found this lovely home it is like a 5-star hotel. Wonderful.

My experience of Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home is that it is a kind and caring place to offer help and support to the residents that stay there. The staff that work there are very friendly, kind and considerate. It is a good care and nursing home with a nice atmosphere.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback about Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your review.
What lovely care my dad received here. Sadly he had to receive palliative care. The compassion and kindness to us all were very comforting.
Thank you for your lovely comments, and we are sorry dad was only here for a short while but glad we were able to support you all through a very difficult time.
My aunt has been a resident at Summer Lane for nearly three years and is still as happy and content today as she was at the beginning. We are always made welcome when visiting, and although always busy, staff are happy to help and are patient and attentive to residents' needs. The recent refurbishment has created a nicely decorated, clean, bright and efficient environment which still remains warm and welcoming. As we live two hours away, if anything unusual should happen to my elderly aunt, such as a fall, the staff phone me straight away to tell me, and the in-house nursing care provide an immediate assessment and arrange further care if necessary, so I know not to worry. Staff will also accompany my aunt on any hospital outpatient visits she might need, which is a great help to us. We look forward to our next visit when the building works are completed and everything returns to normal.
Thank you for your lovely review, and we are very pleased to know that your aunt is still happy and content here and that you always feel Summer Lane is warm and welcoming. Good communication between us and our families is of the utmost importance, so we are pleased you feel we are keeping you informed at all times, enabling you to feel confident that your aunt is being well cared for.
There are currently some building works being undertaken, which can make parking difficult at the moment, but we look forward to seeing the completed project.
Thank you for your kind comments. I am glad you and your uncle are happy. We believe good communication is paramount to giving good care, so we are always happy to meet with you to discuss any future issues you may have.
The staff at every level are wonderful, patient and kind. The home is run efficiently. It is modern and clean, yet the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. My mother is looked after properly by the nurses, carers and ancillary staff. She has dementia and is happy there, content and calm.
Thank you for your lovely review, and we are pleased that Summer Lane has met your expectations and that your mum is happy and content.
The staff are very friendly and kind.

I have been looked after by all the staff. It's been a learning curve! They have made it possible for me to cope and I will always be grateful.
Thank you for your review, and I am very pleased that we have been able to support you through what has been a very difficult time for you and your wife. Please rest assured we will always be here not just to care for your wife but also to support you in any way we can.
The overall care and welfare given to my wife were outstanding from all of the staff, and I could find little fault with Summer Lane care home! And the only reason I moved my wife into another care home was because of the distance involved with travelling to visit her. If given our time all over again, I would have no doubt about placing her again into Summer Lane care home!
Thank you for taking the time to give us such a lovely review, and I will pass on your comments to my staff to let them know how pleased you were. We hope your wife has settled well in her new home and that it has made life a little easier for you.
My husband settled well at Summer Lane, and the staff treat him so caringly. They are very friendly to myself as well. They always inform me if anything happens, like him having falls, that kind of thing.
Thank you for your kind review. We are glad that your husband has settled well and that you know that you will always be informed of any changes, which hopefully gives you peace of mind at all times.
My husband seems to have settled for very well at Summer Lane. It took some time because of lockdown and then visiting with masks on behind a screen, which really confused him as he is very deaf. I am happy that when I visit him, he is always up, dressed and comfortable. It's good to know he is well looked after when I can't visit when I was unwell myself.
Thank you for your kind review. Lockdown definitely was challenging in many areas but we are very pleased your husband has settled well here at Summer Lane and that you know that when you are unable to visit he is well cared for.
The home has recently gone through redecoration and revamps to existing facilities, and there is such a lovely feel to the home - with a beautiful garden room and outside space, hairdressing salon, café and social areas.
Communication between myself, the managers, the finance team and the great nursing team is very good - which is so reassuring.
I cannot praise the team enough for their care, and I am now happy to say that my friend is settled and content at Summer Lane Nursing Home.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and such a lovely one. We are so pleased that the resident you care for is happy and content and has settled well, as you quite rightly say, it is a very anxious time for all. The revamp has gone well and now gives even more lovely areas for our...
When my husband was offered a place at Summer Lane, we were delighted. All of the staff are so welcoming, friendly and caring. The food is excellent, which he thoroughly enjoys, always an empty plate! It's a difficult decision to put a loved one into care, but know now we've done the right thing. Thank you all at Summer Lane.
Thank you for your lovely review, and we are pleased that Summer Lane has met your expectations and is meeting your husband's needs well. As you say, it is a difficult time putting a loved one in to care, and we are extremely happy that it has confirmed to you that you have made the right decision for him. I will pass on your thanks to my staff.
My wife has been at Summer Lane for 15 months now. Overall, we are happy with the service we receive. One regular problem is the loss of various, but especially laundry items. Staffing often seems to be on the low side. The only meal I have seen is the 4.30 pm meal, this always looks good and is well presented. Because of the staffing situation, the girls have little or no time to spend with the residents.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home. It's lovely to hear that you're happy with our care here at Summer Lane; it is our pleasure to care for your wife as part of our Summer Lane family. Please do come and have a chat next time you visit, and I will be happy to address any concerns you have about laundry items and staffing levels.
My mum became a resident of Summer Lane Care Home in April 2022. She has since been very well cared for. She has a lovely room and surroundings. There is a lovely dining room for meals. The carers are so helpful, and Mum is so well looked after, and I know she is safe.
Thank you for your kind review; we appreciate you taking the time to leave one. We are so pleased your mum has settled well, and you are happy that she is safe and well looked after.
