Summer Lane is a 120 bed purpose-built care home with an excellent reputation, providing elderly care for a range of needs.

The home has dedicated wings specialising in nursing care, dementia care and for general residential care. With 24-hour nurses on-site and top of the range facilities, the home is well-placed to deliver high standards of care in Weston-Super-Mare and surrounding areas. Residents enjoy a range of lounges and dining areas as well as café, hair dressing salon and outdoor seating areas.

Summer Lane Residential and Nursing Home became part of the award winning Country Court Care Group in June 2013. The home has good links with the local community and residents enjoy regular trips out and benefit from visits from community groups, churches and schools. A full range of activities based on their individual preferences provides residents with meaningful opportunities on a daily basis. Daily activities include light exercise, games, quizzes, baking, gardening and crafts.

Mum had Alzheimer's and for the last 2.5 years of her life, she was resident in Summer Lane Nursing Home. It’s fair to say that there were one or two issues, in the beginning, however since the new Manager has been there, things have only improved to the standard it is now at, which in my opinion, is
probably the best care facility in Weston-super-Mare. The food is lovely. The whole place is clean, and well cared for. It is on standard with a four star hotel. But the best praise is reserved for the staff. Their care and love for the residents makes it a home in every sense. Mum was happy, felt loved and was safe there.


The home was not only a home and family for mum but the rest of the family were included. We could come and go at anytime and were always made to feel part of the ‘family’. This is borne out by the fact that my sister-in- law still pops in to visit even though mum has since passed. We all have a fear of care homes but if that is the standard I could look forward to, I would be happy to move in tomorrow. There is always a hug for someone who needs it!!

My aunt has been a resident for the last 6 months. The care has been excellent and we are really pleased with the home. The purpose built facilities are amazing and make it so much easier to take her in a wheelchair around this home. Staff are very kind and always finds the time to be helpful.

My mother has been at the homes for 2months, she is 93years old this year and is very frail.
The care and support she had received for her short-term memory loss has been very challenging for all the staff. They have constantly, responded tremendously, treating her with the utmost care and dignity.
She is always well dressed and looking respectable.
I feel she is safe and well looked after in a caring environment and treated with love and respect. Thank you.

Mum is always clean with clean clothes and dressed nicely. All the staff are very caring and always talk to the lady as they pass. Her room is spotless. It is a shame that mum can't stop to do any activities as I'm sure she would love them.

My dad has been in Summer Lane since July 2016. He settled very quickly in his large room with en-suite. We are all very happy including my dad. Everyone is so kind and helpful and the staff are so caring. He still has his sense of humour and enjoys chatting and laughing with the staff! He enjoys the
activities and is happy to socialise. We are all pleased that he has settled in a lovely home.

Carers and nurses are first class, always sensitive and dedicated to my mother's needs and I have witnessed each day the wonderful care given to all residents. From the most warm welcome at reception right through to staff, we receive the very best care. Attention to detail, the very close attention
and observations on each resident is exacting, done with much love and affection. We are blessed with the most hard working and intelligent carers/nurses/management I have every seen.

I think the level of care is fantastic. My wife is happy here and all the residents I have seen show happiness - a sign of a great home. Any concerns raised is addressed immediately by the manager. She is always delighted to see staff. Definitely recommend this home.

I am writing re the care and treatment my aunt received up to her death on 7th December 2016. The carers and nursing staff were excellent. I cannot fault them. All the staff, from cleaners, catering, repair man, reception, carers and nursing staff were kind and friendly. (I shall miss them). The only
thing is considering the fees I believe her room should have been painted and a new carpet which was stained. Since her death, I see this has been done.

My Mum has been at the home for 7 weeks and the care and support she has received has been very, very good. She has dementia and she has settled very well and she is happy to remain there. I feel she is now safe and will be well looked after. She has started to build up a trusting relationship with
most of the staff who are looking after her which is lovely to see.

Reviews should be allowed to be shown either good or bad. As of Sunday 27th of November 2016 there has been no heating whatsoever at the care home, the residents are given extra blankets to try to keep warm.
Monday night 28th was one of the coldest nights of the year with temperatures dipping below
minus 4. The care staff are doing all they can with little that they have to keep residents warm. The home needs a new boiler.

This home is amazing, my uncle passed away on 27th October 2015. The girls and staff are lovely so great on my uncles last day. One of the girls on her day off came in to work to sit and hold his hand as he passed away. Any one who is thinking of putting a loved one into Summer Lane, I can't recommend
it enough, it is truly a lovely place to put your mum, dad, uncle or aunty. I would put this home as the best. Thank you to everyone there.
