We'd like to pass on our sincere thanks to you and your team, with special congratulations to Vincent.
Yesterday was my father's funeral and my uncle attended in our home town.
We know the huge efforts involved to have made this happen and would like to commend Vincent on an outstanding job.
As you're probably aware, in 5 years of your care, my uncle had never left the building, so this was a remarkable feat with all aspects managed and considered.

We are truly grateful and hoping this will be the first of other trip.

We can not fault the care given to Mum during her time at Kernow House. It was such a relief to know she was safe and so well looked after. Staff were always friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Mum settled in very quickly and we instantly knew we'd made the right choice in care facilities. The home is situated within walking distance of some great shops and a cafe which we were able to utilize enhancing Mum's quality of life. We'd like to thank everyone at Kernow House for the care and compassion shown to both Mum and family we will be eternally grateful.

On arrival at your nursing home i was always made to feel very welcome.
The open kitchen diner was always very homely with guests watching tv, being asked their own choice of breakfast.
The home always felt clean.
The residents are very well looked after and respected for their individuality.

Every visit was a special one each with their own memories and take my friends mum out in her wheelchair for a coffee.

After our Mum moved from another care home in Tavistock to Kernow, I can't tell you the difference of care she received. I went from crying every time I left her to sleeping like a baby knowing she was in such good care. I can't Recommend the nursing home enough, the level of care she received on a daily basis from the cleaning staff the amazing nurses, and the delicious food. We sadly lost Mum Last week and I can honestly say the compassion shown by every member of staff in the home for Mum's last few days was incredible. There wasn't a moment we weren't checked on looked after, offered tea coffees food nothing was too Much trouble. Mum was always kept so clean and tidy and she loved having her hair and nails done in the beauty parlour. When Mum got really poorly towards the end, they even gave us a hand in the minibus to take her down to Garden centre which was one of her most favourite things to do especially at Christmas with all the decorations. Thank you so much for everything.

The care that my father is receiving is Kernow House is exceptional. It is a huge weight off my mind knowing that my dad is being so well cared for and is totally safe. The staff treat my father like one of their family and show him so much love and empathy. All his needs are well catered for and he wants for nothing. From the senior nurses to the cleaners, everybody shows the same passion and respect to the residents.

My lovely Mum has been a resident in Kernow House for the past 5 years with dementia. She had 24 hour nursing care & my prayers were answered when she became a resident in August 2020. She was peaceful & content, calling the staff "her girls"! Mum was "peacefully & painlessly promoted home" into the arms of Jesus on Nov 3 2025. I can honestly say that I don't have enough words to thank & praise the staff on Millaton Unit enough for the amazing care, genuine love, respect, compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness & support they showed Mum (& us) in the 5 years & during the last 3 weeks. Mum was treated like family, which has helped us immensely in our loss & healing. The lovely welcoming smiles from the receptionists when we arrive, the support, contact & the genuine care from EVERY member of the staff & management has been OUTSTANDING & always accessableNothing has been too much trouble for them. Thank you, for making my Mums final years, peaceful, content, safe & loved.

It is always a sad ,and potentially scary ,scenario when a loved one needs the special attention of a nursing/care home.
With that being said , I can honestly think of no better place for our dear friend to be .
Kernow is beautifully appointed and offers ,not only the inherent skills of each and every nurse, but constant attention, comfort and dignity.
We were able to decorate her room to make it feel more familiar , our friend visited often with Sophie, the Golden Retriever and we were able to join her in the dining room.
I really can't find adequate words with which to thank everyone ; from the smiling young woman at reception, to Jackie the O.T manager, Jo who first sat with us on the first fact-finding visit and then on to each and every nurse involved in our friend's care.

What really impresses me , apart from my praises above, is the genuine care and consideration shown to family and friends , all of whom are processing their own fears and anxieties. Thank you . Thank you !!

A huge thank you to the staff led by unit lead, for smooth admission from hospital for my mum's partner. Such a warm welcome with care and compassion. As a family what has been a tough journey it is such a pleasure to see him settled, engaging with others and an open bright space to roam. To be able to visit and also for the dog to be part of an amazing community accommodating each individuals care needs and to feel at home. Thank you and I am already looking forward to my next visit.

The level of care which my dad is receiving is 2nd to none. The staff are lovely and there are many activities on offer eg: therapy animals, music events, parties, art projects, bar on Fridays etc. My dad has been involved in an art project where he restored a chair which will not be exhibited in Chester.

The manager of the home was excellent in communicating with me prior to my husband arriving at the home and since. The staff are all extremely polite, friendly and caring. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they also care for the relations of the people that are in the home. The cleanliness of the home is excellent. Cleaners are always present as are carers if here is an accident. The standard of the food is also excellent with thought and care in the layout of the tables and assistance given when needed.

We were visiting our brother at the care home for the first time. We were very impressed and the staff were lovely and very helpful. We especially liked the beautiful tray of coffee and biscuits which were given to us while we were talking with our brother. We were only there for 2 hours so we did not get to see all the facilities but we hope to spend more time there on our net visit. Thank you.

Both my father and mother received the best of care at Barchester Kernow House Care Home for nearly twenty years and we have no concerns in recommending the home to families in a similar situation. The home is spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble regarding our parents' well-being and care. All the staff were approachable and pleasant and you knew, on leaving the home, that our parents were treated with dignity and respect. The staff made dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia more bearable for us, as a family, and we will always be grateful to the manager and the team for the high level of care they provided.

My mother has been a resident of Barchester Kernow House Care Home in Launceston now for a few years and I cannot recommend their care and attention to detail enough.
The care team and management are clearly a very driven unit to deliver such exemplary care and upon my regular visits to Mum, I find the whole experience a pleasure and to know my mum is really being cared for.
I reside some distance away and have had options in the past to move Mum closer to me and see a her lot more frequently but I could not dream of this based on how happy Mum and family are.
Mum is always found happy, clean and very well-fed!
In summary, despite our hardships in life with such matters taking their course, I'm rather glowing about this particular care environment.

Hope this review might help someone making those first hard steps in decision-making.

The care my father has received at Barchester Kernow House Care Home over the last two years has been second to none. From the moment he arrived, the staff made him feel at home and ensured he was content and happy. I have always been made to feel especially welcome whenever I have visited and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The meals are well varied and of a very high quality and the activities programme is wonderful; I have been lucky enough to experience singing and a visit from the ice cream trolley with my father whilst visiting which brought him a lot of joy. I couldn't have asked for anymore from Kernow House, everything has been brilliant and I would highly recommend them.

My sister, aged 89 years, has been at Barchester Kernow House Care Home since 2019, initially in St. Pirans Unit and from 2021, in Millaton. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2012 and now requires full-time care - following a previous residential care home plus a separate nursing home. This enables us to comment with comparative experience.
We feel so fortunate, as a family, that our sister and favourite godmother to several of our grandchildren is so well looked after in her final years.
There is genuine belief, from the general manager down to the unit nursing care and support staff, to recognise and respond to the individual needs, moods and support for our lovely family member. When visiting, it is clear to see how much the staff love and enjoy what they do.

We continue to appreciate the safety, love and care which she gets.
