The team at Greenslades are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, each and every day, providing care with dignity and compassion.   

Providing nursing, dementia and palliative care, they also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for carers in the community, who would like to plan a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands. These breaks can be for just a couple of weeks, or longer if desired.

The home-cooked food prepared by the chef is delicious, from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to fish and chip Fridays, home-made soups and lighter bites. There is also home-baking every day for afternoon tea.   

This summer, the residents have been enjoying growing their own produce, from radishes and onions, to carrots and tomatoes, which the chef has used in the kitchens. There are raised beds in the gardens, perfect for residents and families who love gardening together. And for those who prefer to watch the wildlife, there are two conservatories overlooking the enclosed gardens.

The bedrooms at Greenslades are spacious and beautifully decorated, with residents encouraged to bring their own items and small pieces of furniture, to truly make them feel at home.

The home also has a hair salon for regular appointments with the hairdresser. And the residents often enjoy pamper sessions in the salon and the relaxation room, with manicures and hand massages. And in the lounges, they enjoy a variety of activities, from games to gentle exercise and music sessions.

A recent addition to the home is a giant interactive tablet, where the residents can play games and test their knowledge.   

And the community are embraced into life at Greenslades, from students who visit regularly, to family and friends, who are welcome at any time. Residents also enjoy regular canine visits too!

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for nursing care start at £1389 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

Greenslades Nursing Home offers everything you could wish for in a nursing home. It is like a second family to residents and relatives. The standard of care is excellent and each resident is treated as an individual. There is love and laughter in abundance. I am so grateful to everyone in the Greenslades

There is a friendly atmosphere in the home and my mother with physical health problems/mobility issues and dementia has settled in well. Staff are kind and caring. Residents are offered a range of activities.

Excellent, caring staff, friendly and approachable.
Room was very tired and no bedside light, so my mother could not turn light on and off at night. Very noisy alarm system outside her room. No accessibility to power sockets if patient cannot get out of bed. Curtains tatty. Gutters blocked above the
room so excessive rain bashing against windows.
Although the staff are excellent the building needs a revamp!

My mum was in Greenslades for twenty months, during that time her care by the staff was exemplary. They showed her kindness, empathy and dignity, which made the last few months and weeks of her life easier for us all to get through. The staff work so hard but always had smiles on their faces and were

During the 21 months my dad was resident at Greenslades. I could not have been more happy with the care he received. Many of the care staff who were working there when he first arrived cared for him for the whole of his stay. The staff were universally kind and seemed to fully understand his needs.
I was always able to visit whenever I wanted without an appointment and always found him well looked after in every possible way.

The last 6 months have seen massive improvements and I know that Dad is in good hands. The Christmas events put on in December for residents, friends and family were brilliant, not to mention how lovely the home was decorated.
It's a tough decision to put your loved one in residential care but at Greenslades,
it feels like the staff are looking after their own family, which makes me very happy.

Wonderful, caring staff who are always friendly and inclusive towards both my mum and us as visitors.

Very friendly and caring team. Great manager. Specific items that need changing are redecorating, vinyl instead of carpet where sensible, online access to resident's care records and named main carers. I know that the manager is aware and pushing for these things. Come on, Sanctuary, invest a little

This has been a difficult year for myself and I knew the Christmas season would be particularly hard, but thanks to all the Greenslades team my mum and myself have been able to make some wonderful lasting memories. Nothing has been too much trouble. Christmas decorations and lights a plenty, music,
entertainment and warm welcoming feeling in the home throughout the whole of December with plenty of opportunity for family and friends to join in. A lovely Christmas lunch and a day spent with my Greenslades family. Thank you all so much, well done everyone.

My review is from March 2023 to December 2023, it's about residents and workers both. Since March 2023 I had to make the painful decision that broke my heart to to put my lovely dad in a care home and I chose Greenslades due to its name and quirky building and kind nature. And I was right, everyone
both residents and workers are amazing, lovely people with very kind, caring hearts. I'm very fond of everyone there and the workers for taking such good care of my dad, while my son relapsed cancer and I got cancer in September, life has been tough. But I'm very happy with his care and I know he's being looked after and he's very happy and that's very important to me. 5 stars for Greenslades.

My grandmother has been in the care of Greenslades for the past few years. I can see that she is happy and well cared for. The staff put on many different activities to cater to all the residents' abilities. It’s been wonderful to see her up and dancing and enjoying the music. Plus, of course wherever
there is cake she will be, so the coffee mornings are brilliant. I’ve always felt welcomed when I have visited the home and the staff are lovely and genuinely care.

Arrived feeling lost (I had been passing out). I heard staff laughing and chatting as they dealt with another room and realised this was a good home with lovely staff. I find the food excellent (like good home cooked food). This had improved my health. My husband was cooking and frankly he is not a

Well looked after friendly helpful staff I've been here for four months and have been very happy here. I am on the ground floor which gives me easy access to the garden where I feed the birds and hedgehogs.
