Without naming names I can say that you are fortunate to have individuals on your staff with very high standards of care.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that your sister is receiving compassionate and professional care from our team. Your appreciation means a lot to us and will be shared with everyone at Greenslades.
He had multiple physical needs ( he had end stage Parkinson's as well as other serious health conditions) which were not always met by overworked nursing staff.
Any exercise, (even just helping him to stand) which would have encouraged him, was frustratingly denied him, because of staff shortage, and he was left in bed or his chair most of the day, unless family intervened.
Staff were friendly and helpful when asked. Some staff were excellent and went out of their way to help him.
Perhaps the greatest shock was being interrupted with my son, as my husband was taking his dying breaths, to be asked by a nurse why we had no funeral plan.
Greenslades undoubtedly suits the loved ones of many families but I do not recommend it for someone with multiple complex needs, especially end stage Parkinson's.
We are deeply saddened to read about your experience at Greenslades and your feedback is truly invaluable to us.We really appreciate the kind words you have for our team who supported both yourself and your husband during his time at the home, and we're so sorry to hear that you feel we fell short...
It has been wonderful to see the improvements in my mum's mental and physical health since moving into Greenslades. She is clean, well-fed, bright and happy. The staff are fantastic with her and have taken the time to get to know her well. Mum really enjoys the variety of activities and loves having the company of the other residents and staff. The food is excellent and mum enjoys it all. It is a huge relief to our family to know that Mum is so well cared for and is happy and thriving, despite her Alzheimers.
Thank you so much for your kind words, our team at Greenslades will be so proud to read your comments. We're thrilled to hear about the positive changes in your mum's well-being since joining us. Our team takes great pride in providing personalised care and creating a warm and engaging environment,...
The staff at the home were excellent during my father's stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always welcoming. They were happy to chat about what had happened during the day. The room was a good size and the lounge was very homely. Although Dad was only there for a short time his care and attention were greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that you felt so welcomed and supported during your father's stay with us at Greenslades. It's heartening to know that our team could provide the care and attention he needed, even for a short time. Your appreciation means so much to us, and we're glad we could make his stay as comfortable as possible.
I found the staff to be very professional, kind and helpful. The home was always clean and they were having home improvements done as well, painting etc. The staff were approachable and would always answer any questions you had.

The food is of good quality and plenty of it, drinks are readily available.
There are plenty of daily activities to keep everyone occupied and you do have the choice to participate or not - nothing is forced onto you.
There is a social media page where you can see what the nursing home has been doing so for families who cannot visit as often they can see what activities the residents are participating in.
The home is very quick to get in touch if there are any concerns with my parent which is very reassuring to us all.
Thank you for your kind words for our team at Greenslades. We're so pleased to hear that your parent feels so at home and holds the staff in such high regard. It's wonderful to know that the cleanliness, quality meals, and daily activities bring such comfort and enjoyment. The team will be delighted to read your kind words, thank you.

The carers and nurses are kind and help to make her feel at ease.
I appreciate all they do for my mum!
Her bedroom is cleaned daily and my mum enjoys the food.
It always breaks my heart to leave as I can only visit once a week due to living in North Devon, but I know she's looked after and her needs are attended to.
Thank you so much for your kind words about our team at Greenslades, we're delighted to hear that your mum has settled in so well and feels at home here. It means a lot to us that you trust us with your mum's well-being and feedback is greatly appreciated!
Fantastic end-of-life care for my mum, primarily down the quality of the staff. I found everyone to be incredibly supportive, responsive, knowledgeable and caring. Furthermore, nursing staff made numerous phone calls to update me of any immediate changes to my mum's health so I could change plans and be with her. Greenslades is fairly central in the city and while it didn't have gardens like a few other homes, it was very clean, had decent food and is very well run. I can thoroughly recommend for a family member.
Thank you for your review for Greenslades, especially written at such a difficult time, the team will be touched to read your kind words and personal recommendation.
Very happy with the care my husband is receiving. The staff are excellent very caring and friendly. Nothing seems to be too much for them and do everything with a smile on their face. A very happy atmosphere. Thank you

Utterly wonderful environment for the residents. Daily activities including dancing, gardening, pottery, arts and crafts with lots of family interaction encouraged. A welcoming environment for residents and family. My mother is happy and smiling and gets lots of attention and care. Staff absolutely amazing without them she wouldn't be here. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful review, the team at Greenslades work so hard to enrich the lives of their residents with so many wonderful activities and experiences and will be delighted to read your comments.
Greenslades Nursing Home offers everything you could wish for in a nursing home. It is like a second family to residents and relatives. The standard of care is excellent and each resident is treated as an individual. There is love and laughter in abundance. I am so grateful to everyone in the Greenslades team.
Thank you for your five-star review of Greenslades; we have passed this to the wonderful team, who will be touched to read your comments.
There is a friendly atmosphere in the home and my mother with physical health problems/mobility issues and dementia has settled in well. Staff are kind and caring. Residents are offered a range of activities.
Thank you for your review for Greenslades, it's lovely to hear how well your mother has settled in - the staff are certainly fantastic there.
Room was very tired and no bedside light, so my mother could not turn light on and off at night. Very noisy alarm system outside her room. No accessibility to power sockets if patient cannot get out of bed. Curtains tatty. Gutters blocked above the room so excessive rain bashing against windows.
Although the staff are excellent the building needs a revamp!
Thank you for your kind words of praise and high scores for our team. We are sorry to hear the environment of the home has fallen short and would like to reassure you that plans are in place for a revamp with improvement works coming up.
My mum was in Greenslades for twenty months, during that time her care by the staff was exemplary. They showed her kindness, empathy and dignity, which made the last few months and weeks of her life easier for us all to get through. The staff work so hard but always had smiles on their faces and were always very welcoming. Thank you from us all to everyone at Greenslades.
Thank you for your review for Greenslades, especially written at such a difficult time, the team will be touched to read your comments.
During the 21 months my dad was resident at Greenslades. I could not have been more happy with the care he received. Many of the care staff who were working there when he first arrived cared for him for the whole of his stay. The staff were universally kind and seemed to fully understand his needs. I was always able to visit whenever I wanted without an appointment and always found him well looked after in every possible way.
that were planned with residents and how happy my friend is. We felt as though we were part of the family and had known everyone for years. The way the staff welcomed us was priceless. We left feeling incredibly confident that our friend will have a fabulous Christmas with the Greenslades team. Thank you guys for everything.
It's a tough decision to put your loved one in residential care but at Greenslades, it feels like the staff are looking after their own family, which makes me very happy.
Many interesting and appropriate activities are organised including pamper sessions, art, music and games.
Great home-cooked food which Mum loves!

Meet the Team (2)

I started off in care when I was 19, looking after my father and decided this was what I wanted to do for a career as I wanted to make a difference.
I have worked my way through all roles in all different sectors of social care to get to where I am now. I have been in management for 10 years now and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Care is my life and passion and I love learning something new every day. I am honoured that I can say that I truly love what I do and I am privileged and lucky to have a career with a company that shares the same passion.

I find my role very satisfying, I enjoy helping the families and friends of our residents with whatever they may need.
