Very friendly and caring team. Great manager. Specific items that need changing are redecorating, vinyl instead of carpet where sensible, online access to resident's care records and named main carers. I know that the manager is aware and pushing for these things. Come on, Sanctuary, invest a little bit more in a fantastic team.
Amazing friendly staff. Always there to help when in need with fantastic communication. Always a good range of activities for the residents very inclusive and all person-centred. Everybody treated like family including the relatives.
Such a friendly group of people. They have so much patience and kindness for the people in the home. I have learnt so much from them and hope to learn even more! They have been so welcoming to me as a volunteer and have helped me to expand my interest in care and working with people.
This has been a difficult year for myself and I knew the Christmas season would be particularly hard, but thanks to all the Greenslades team my mum and myself have been able to make some wonderful lasting memories. Nothing has been too much trouble. Christmas decorations and lights a plenty, music, entertainment and warm welcoming feeling in the home throughout the whole of December with plenty of opportunity for family and friends to join in. A lovely Christmas lunch and a day spent with my Greenslades family. Thank you all so much, well done everyone.
My review is from March 2023 to December 2023, it's about residents and workers both. Since March 2023 I had to make the painful decision that broke my heart to to put my lovely dad in a care home and I chose Greenslades due to its name and quirky building and kind nature. And I was right, everyone both residents and workers are amazing, lovely people with very kind, caring hearts. I'm very fond of everyone there and the workers for taking such good care of my dad, while my son relapsed cancer and I got cancer in September, life has been tough. But I'm very happy with his care and I know he's being looked after and he's very happy and that's very important to me. 5 stars for Greenslades.
My grandmother has been in the care of Greenslades for the past few years. I can see that she is happy and well cared for. The staff put on many different activities to cater to all the residents' abilities. It’s been wonderful to see her up and dancing and enjoying the music. Plus, of course wherever there is cake she will be, so the coffee mornings are brilliant. I’ve always felt welcomed when I have visited the home and the staff are lovely and genuinely care.
Arrived feeling lost (I had been passing out). I heard staff laughing and chatting as they dealt with another room and realised this was a good home with lovely staff. I find the food excellent (like good home cooked food). This had improved my health. My husband was cooking and frankly he is not a good cook.
Tasty porridge. Nice room.
The home has made some huge improvements recently, they are such a fantastic team, they look after not only the residents but family as well, there's a real homely feel to the home and it looks like winter wonderland. Well done Team Greenslades.
Good, happy staff.
Carers seemed to be very caring and understanding. All staff were considering our needs as well as the service user.
Well looked after friendly helpful staff I've been here for four months and have been very happy here. I am on the ground floor which gives me easy access to the garden where I feed the birds and hedgehogs.
Mum had 5 weeks of respite at Greenslades and although it took 7-10 days to settle in, she came out having gained a little weight and was much less agitated. All the staff provided us with a warm welcome and detailed updates on request.
The kindness and care shown to my father during the seven months he lived at Greenslades was excellent. All the nursing and care team were supportive of the family as we all navigated a difficult time in Dad's life. The nursing team liaised with the GP to ensure Dad was comfortable and well cared for following a serious head injury. End-of-life care was dignified and we were given space as a family to support Dad in his final hours, privacy was shown but assistance was on hand if we needed it.
Our visit, unannounced received such a welcome, our old friend had been reluctant to leave her home to go to Greenslades, yet the staff, the nurses, the carers were so kind, so patient and so thoughtful that she soon appreciated the move. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our friend was able to keep paintings, pictures, bedding covers in her room which looked homely and welcoming. We did not know that such compassion could last and it did until sadly she died. My grateful thanks for helping her last moments and holding her hand.
My friend was frightened to go into a care home but grudgingly accepted a 'short-term' stay after recovering from a fall. We checked out the CQC, all good, then made an unannounced visit prior to her admission. It was perfect, clean, tidy and well-ventilated. An excellent menu and staff who were unfailingly caring and thoughtful. Her stay was short but the care was exceptional and we are immensely grateful.
I would recommend Greenslades Nursing Home to anyone who needs care and is treated with dignity. The staff are wonderful and they make you feel at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. My very dear friend who was in the home for just 13 months, from day one she got all the care and support, in other words, well done Greenslades.
Thank you for your glowing feedback. It's heartwarming to hear you were happy with the dignified care shown to your friend. I'll be sure to pass on your feedback. Thank you again.
From day one of leaving my wife at Greenslades Nursing Home, my overall feelings were good ones. Now six years further on, my feelings have not changed, if anything they have strengthened as my confidence and trust in the management and staff has increased. Which in turn gives me invaluable peace of mind.
Our mum spent a very short time here and sadly peacefully passed away on the 2nd of October. During Mum's stay, the nursing staff were very kind, caring and supportive. A particular mention is worthy of two lovely staff who spent the last few days with Mum and us and totally showed compassion and kindness. They worked under immense pressure from staff shortages but did not allow this to distract from spending quality time with Mum in her final hours. The care system is clearly struggling throughout the country, so it is not surprising that staff are under pressure. They work long hours and are expected to cope. We are so truly grateful for all the care and attention we were provided and on behalf of Mum, we thank you so much.
Mum has been a resident for around a year and we could not be happier. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. Mum loves the food, which is great as she was not really eating much before moving to Greenslades. The home is always clean and welcoming.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review - it is so appreciated by our team. It's so wonderful to hear how your mum is doing with us at Greenslades. Best wishes, Fae

Meet the Team (2)

I started off in care when I was 19, looking after my father and decided this was what I wanted to do for a career as I wanted to make a difference.
I have worked my way through all roles in all different sectors of social care to get to where I am now. I have been in management for 10 years now and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Care is my life and passion and I love learning something new every day. I am honoured that I can say that I truly love what I do and I am privileged and lucky to have a career with a company that shares the same passion.

I find my role very satisfying, I enjoy helping the families and friends of our residents with whatever they may need.
