My wife moved to Greenslades in October 2014 with vascular dementia and died in August 2020. During these 6-years, she was looked after so well that I do not believe that any other nursing home in the country could have done a better job, and it was done with love.
Best wishes, Fae.
My late mother suffered from Dementia and was a resident in your nursing home in Exeter for a number of years, until her death in October 2020. While in your care, the staff exercise care and patience while attending to her. I live in South Africa and regularly phoned the home enquiring about my mother's wellbeing and health. I was always well greeted and found the staff very helpful. The carers were exceptionally helpful and always went out of their way to help Mum. On behalf of my family and that of my brother, we wish to say thank you and God bless for all you did for Mum.
Greenslades is a lovely home, a nice one big family homely feel with a very good management team. All the staff at Greenslades are really marvellous. The manager is compassionate and understanding. My dearest Mum is well looked after by very caring staff who are totally dedicated to giving the residents the best care possible. The meals are very good and the menu is varied. There is a good range of activities for the residents. I phone every day and I am kept updated with my Mum's care and daily wellbeing. It is so reassuring. Recent garden visits have been lovely. Thank you to all the staff at Greenslades for what you are doing and all that you do.
Thank you for such a lovely review - it's wonderful to hear how pleased you are with mum's care. Best wishes, Fae.
I will be looking further into removing my stepdad away from this home. If you have a loved one needing care please do not choose this home
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We take your feedback very seriously and I understand that you are now liaising with our business services team. We do have to protect our residents and maintain social distancing during our new visits which is why you were encouraged not to say goodbye with a hug. We really appreciate your feedback at this time. Best wishes, Fae.
However, the staff are very caring and there is a feel of relaxed organisation in keeping with the needs of the residents. I would, therefore, recommend Greenslades, but with reservations.
My husband was transferred from hospital to Greenslades with advanced dementia and medical problems. I have to say the carers have been very good. He is now eating and is cheerful, which is excellent seeing the problems he has been facing.
Thank you for your kind words about our home and team, it is lovely to hear that your husband is doing well with us. Best wishes, Fae
Greenslades took my cousin into their care when many other places would not. Staff always seem kind, positive and compassionate when I see or speak to the. Since living at Geenslades, my cousin has started to leave his room more and had been mixing with other residents which he would not previously have done.
Thank you for your kind words about our team, it is wonderful to hear that your cousin is doing well with us. Best wishes.
I am very happy with all the staff who are like family. They do a very good job of looking after everybody in the home. I thank them for all they do looking after everybody. Thank you so much for all you do, thank you, thank you.
I have found the nursing home to be extremely well organised and provides excellent care to the residents. The staff carry out a large range of tasks in a professional manner. The only downside is when staff have to cover when they have sickness or holiday at short notice.
Thank you for your kind words about our team, I will be sure to pass your feedback onto the Home Manager. Best wishes
Cannot find any fault at all. Everything you need was there.
Thank you for your kind words and brilliant scores. I will be sure to pass this onto the manager and the team. Best wishes.
I found the staff to be responsive and caring with kindness. The deputy manager and nurses and carers were willing and available to answer any question I might have had regarding my wife, and to attend any requests to toilet use and to attend to her comfort when we visited each day. Management and staff made an excellent effort to make my wifes birthday as good as possible for her and her visitors.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home and for your lovely feedback about our team. I will be sure to pass this on for you, our team will really appreciate your kind words. Best wishes.
Very hard working and authentically caring staff who were always approachable with concerns. Extremely considerate and helpful when my mother passed away. Management was also approachable and helpful. My mother was given the freedom to live life to the fullest and her specific individual needs and wishes were accommodated. The kitchen staff were fantastic but budgetary constraints meant my mother felt there was room for improvement in the menu offering.
Dear Dominic, thank you so much for your kind words. I will be sure to pass this onto our team, they really appreciate any feedback. Our catering teams provide themselves on their menus, and the choices available which are of the same standard across all of our homes so I am sorry to hear that you...
My sister-in-law was left in bed for two weeks as the only hoist in the building was broken and, apparently, could not be brought upstairs. One lift was out of order for two weeks. Her hair was in a dreadful state, she wasn't washed properly (dirty neck) and she was smelling. Not fed properly as they said she wasn't hungry, but I persevered and she ate nearly everything. I was there for two hours and saw no staff at all. Nobody came to check her. A dreadful smell of urine and faeces on the ground floor. Wearing the same t-shirt for days and never saw her in a nightdress, although she had several. The whole place is a shambles. I am a carer myself.
Dear A S, thank you for your feedback. Taking all feedback very seriously, after speaking with the home's manager, I understand that your concerns have been addressed through Sanctuary Care's safeguarding process and were not substantiated. Tselane's door is always open for you to discuss your sister-in-law's care and any other queries you may have. Best wishes, Fae.
We had previous knowledge of Greenslades from two years ago when a neighbour of ours was admitted into the dementia unit. When my dad became poorly and needed nursing care there was only one obvious choice for us and the standard of care that my dad received in his final months was excellent. The staff are caring and mindful of the dignity of the resident, whenever we visited dad he was always clean and tidy, as he was when he was well. The staff and carers kept us up to date with dad's condition, even if the news was not good and always acted in a very professional manner. He was very happy there and passed away peacefully and with no pain or discomfort.
Dear Alan, thank you so much for your kind words, your feedback really is invaluable to us. I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your father, but I am glad to hear that you were pleased with his standard of care throughout. I will pass this onto the manager and her team. Best wishes
Resident left for long periods of time alone. Not moved in bed and commode found dirty on many visits. Sink found with waste in it. Food cold and tasteless. Resident left on the commode for long periods of time. Bell answered after a very long wait. Never any staff around. Nobody contacts you to say how the resident is and they don't let you know when they are taken to A&E until the morning. Very sad.
I am extremely saddened to read this review which I do not feel is an accurate or a fair reflection of the care we provide. Please do feel free to get in touch on 01905 335436 as you have not mentioned these points before. Kind regards.
I was lucky enough to be sat with mum every day all day for this I will be forever grateful.
Thank you so much for your kind words about your mothers stay with us at Greenslades. Our team work really hard to ensure kindness is at the heart of the care we provide, and it is wonderful that you agree. Best wishes, Fae.
But we were very pleased to find this one.
He was treated with gentle care and he was looked after in a dignified manner, he was fed and kept clean. The staff took time to talk to him.
As he neared the last 10 days all the staff were very kind to me too.
Allowing me to stay with him.
The care was excellent the staff and management were also excellent.
I would happily recommend this home.
Staff were very caring, doing a job which must be very difficult. It's difficult to give an enthusiastic review about a time which is so painful but we were looked after very well.
Dad went into Greenslades in September 2017 after his dementia worsened following a stroke and seizures. The staff managed his move with empathy and understanding and kept me up to date with any changes in his condition. He was well looked after, respected and I believe loved by the staff. Unfortunately, Dad's health deteriorated and was confined to his bed for the last ten days of his life. The team were brilliant, he was kept warm, clean and, although the team were busy, they tried to keep him nourished. We were kept up to date of his condition. At the end, the dignity shown to Dad and the family was second to none. Thank you all.

Meet the Team (2)

I started off in care when I was 19, looking after my father and decided this was what I wanted to do for a career as I wanted to make a difference.
I have worked my way through all roles in all different sectors of social care to get to where I am now. I have been in management for 10 years now and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Care is my life and passion and I love learning something new every day. I am honoured that I can say that I truly love what I do and I am privileged and lucky to have a career with a company that shares the same passion.

I find my role very satisfying, I enjoy helping the families and friends of our residents with whatever they may need.
