Elburton Heights Care Home

My mum lived at Elburton Heights for 12 months after she suffered a stroke and was no longer able to live at home. Abi met me on short notice and was able to take mum in as soon as she left hospital . From day one, the staff were fantastic. They took an interest in mum and my family and formed a genuine bond which was reassuring for me and important for mum as she settled into her new environment. We were able to make her room truly hers and the convenience and familiarity of the home's location in Elburton village was practical but a key part in making the move as normal as possible. The team made a fuss of everyone at Christmas and made mum's birthday special - they really went the extra mile. The care mum received during her last few days and the sense of loss everyone felt showed how mum was very much part of the Elburton Heights family. Thank you to all the staff - you were brilliant.

My mum loves music and they were playing sounds of the 60s in the dining room. I have overheard staff talking to mum when I arrive and it's always been with kindness and care. They completely understand her needs and have taken time to know what she likes in terms of activities and meals. I am so pleased she's somewhere so lovely.

Choosing a care home is stressful and daunting but we have made the right decision without doubt. Care and kindness from all staff has been exceptional from day one so a big thank you to you all. Activity team is wonderful and have got to be congratulated for their enthusiasm and dedication. A warm and friendly atmosphere always - thank you so much from all the family.

From the care home manager to the kitchen staff and the amazing activities team , they have given my husband the best possible life.

Elburton Heights is a very caring and inclusive home. The activities team are fantastic and all the staff treat my father like he is a member of their family. The premises is clean and has a lovely garden which is great for the residents and visitors wellbeing.

My husband John is very frail with the final stage Parkinson's/Dementia. The staff are so good to him and although I miss him dreadfully I know he is in the right place! The staff are wonderful!!!! He asked me today where all the young ladies are?

I'd like to give my appreciation to management care staff entertainment staff for all the hard work that went into Christmas decor, magnificent entertainment food and all the attention that was given to the residence every day they were entertained and fed

I'm so happy with the care at this home for my mum. She has been in some bad ones, but this care home is awesome. The staff are amazing. Elburton Heights is not overcrowded. Mum has everything she needs, plus safety and security, our family is happier.

The home always smells clean and fresh, they show kindness to both David, me and all the family, thank you.

The manager of Elburton Heights went above and beyond to look after my Mum. She treated her with respect, empathy and kindness. The manager and the members of staff made time to talk to me on the phone and reassure me when I was very concerned about my Mums mental health. I am very grateful for their help during a very distressing time.

Love the activities dept. staff are great lots of variety and now a new pub!

The whole organisation, staff, facilities, site including the garden, are excellent and to be well recommended.

Fantastic staff who are friendly and show genuine care for the residents, their family and friends. There are always plenty of activities available for residents should they wish to participate. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have all of the amenities that a resident could wish for. In summary this is the care home that meets all of the resident's needs in a caring and friendly manner that other care homes struggle to achieve.

The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. I am informed by the unit manager if my husband has any health issues and the action that is being taken. Any concerns I may have are dealt with immediately. Generally, he appears quite happy. The carers are kind and considerate towards my husband and myself when I visit.

I could not have been happier with the care my mum was given. The staff were exceptional and I cannot speak too highly of the place. The best thing about it was the fact you were welcome to visit your mum any time you wanted - you didn't have to pre-book as in other homes. We were told they had nothing to hide by the manager, that was very much the case as we never found anything untoward, the family was still the same. I would highly recommend this place.

My mother went into Elburton Heights in May 2023 after a fall in her previous care home left her unable to walk. After a bumpy start, she settled in really well. I can't praise the care she received enough, they were absolutely amazing with her. She wasn't the easiest to deal with, but with patience and care from the excellent staff, she was comfortable and content. When she died in November, everyone was so kind and respectful to us. I would recommend Elburton Heights to anyone who needed care.

Overall, I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. I felt very cared for, safe, and happy during my time at Elburton Heights. However, I do feel that there is a lack of interaction between the administrators and the residents. There is also a lack of staff during meal times, which could lead to a safety issue. The food was tasty, well-prepared, and plentiful, but the menu was very limited and repetitive.
