I have a family member within Elburton Heights, and these last few months have demonstrated just how wonderful they are. The management team have worked so hard to support each resident, but just as importantly, they have supported us, families, too. Personal letters, cards, photos and videos all personal from the manager who has made so many changes and amazing remained is connected. Can't thank you enough.

My dad came to Elburton Heights in March 2020 after being discharged from hospital, originally for respite. Due to the Covid-19, we are now waiting for assessment as my dad is happy to stay. We have found the home very friendly, caring and clean. Dad had his 99th Birthday on March 22nd and it was very well organised, they couldn't have done more for him. Due to Covid-19, there are no activities. We have been very pleased with dad care but more importantly, dad is happy and feels safe.

My mum tried two homes before Elburton Heights. They were appalling. Elburton Heights has been all we hoped for her. They have a fantastic report with all the residents. I am kept informed. I am very happy mum is in this caring, clean and loving home.

The carers are extremely friendly, supportive and go the extra mile to ensure that Mum's stay has been as painless as possible. On her birthday they made sure Mum was treated as a VIP from start to finish. Even making it extra special by walking her over to the local pub to enjoy a birthday surprise meal with her brother and sister. The staff have been amazing encouraging Mum to become mobile again.

Following a long spell in hospital, my Mother's needs were not able to be met at her previous care home. We were understandably very concerned about how she would settle into somewhere new. Our worries were unfounded. The home goes above and beyond to provide the right care for each resident. The staff are so caring and dedicated that my Mother is thriving. The change in her is outstanding; she is happy, content, anxiety-free, and so well looked after that we are eternally grateful. From management to handymen, everyone works together for the good of the people in their care. Nothing is too much trouble, To quote my Mother - " I love it here, everyone is so kind" what more can I ask for.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. It's great to hear not only how well your mother has settled into life at Elburton but also what a difference it must have made for you to see her flourishing. The team members will be thrilled to be reminded what an important part they ALL play in ensuring residents feel at home and loved.

My daughter loves to come into the home and spend some quality time, singing and chatting with a few of the residents. The deputy manager and the activities director are always including my daughter on ways to help her to enrich the days of the residents my daughter visits.

My aunt has been in this home for six years and everything has got better during that time and it no longer appears rundown.
The cleaning staff work hard to keep all areas clean and fresh-smelling.
The residents always appear clean and tidy.
Staff are very caring but I think more staff should be employed to cope with the large amount of paperwork required.

The activities programme is now more varied. The friends and relatives coffee mornings on Tuesdays is well supported and enables us to visit our aunt in a relaxed, social environment with children and pets welcome.

When my mum first went in the home the manager was good, she left to run another home and it was not the same. Lots of managers came in, no good. Now it is getting back to good standards. The manager now was trained by the same manager that was there when mum went in.

What I like about Elburton Heights is the attitude of the staff, not only to my mother but to me as well. I think the food, service and quality of refreshment is good, my mother always seems to have a cup of tea nearby. Her room is kept clean and so are the common shared areas. I feel reassured that my mother in her twilight years is being kept warm, clean and entertained and treated with dignity. I would like to thank the staff for their dedication.

Made to feel very welcome when visiting the home before my mother was transferred from hospital for nursing care.
This feeling carried on from the moment Mum arrived until her passing.
All the care staff we encountered were very sympathetic and understanding of Mum's situation.
Any requests for help were always met promptly.

Nursing care was also excellent and we were always informed of Mum's medical position.

Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident at Elburton Heights care home since October 2017 and during that time I have seen a marked improvement in her health and general well-being. I put this down to good food and care and my family and I feel confident that she is being well looked after. We have had one or two concerns during the past twelve months, such as the large turnover in staff, some at a fairly senior level. At times it appeared that there were too few staff to provide adequate cover and I raised this at the time with a senior member of staff, who assured me that there was no cause for concern. There was also a failure in the hot water/heating system, which seemed to take an inordinate length of time to repair, however, temporary measures were introduced to alleviate the problem and everything is now back to normal. In summary, we believe that the care provided by the home is of a good standard and we would recommend it to anyone seeking similar care.

During my husband's stay in Elburton Heights, he was treated with the utmost care. The staff generally were extremely caring and also gave me great support at a time when I needed it most. I couldn't have been more grateful to them. The redecoration of the home (which is needed) is ongoing and when it's complete I feel it will be of quite a high standard.
