Best place out of the three homes that I've been to.
Staff are very caring and polite.
I find the room a bit carmped and another chair would be good for visitors. TV remote doesn't work but my visitors can work the TV manually.
Food and drink is good. Nurses are good and look after my general health.

It is expensive and will take all my life savings.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. I've asked the Home Manager to have a chat with you about your remote etc. I'm glad you feel it's the best home out of the three you've been to! With best wishes

Mum had been in the home since the beginning of January and we had been delighted with the care she received, all the staff were amazing. Mum loved the activities and was very settled there. Mum sadly passed away in the home on 16th March and the care and support from all the staff on that day were amazing and very heartfelt at a very sad time.

Our first visit to see my parents. The staff are very kind, helpful and courteous. The care home is clean, tidy and well-presented. Facilities and activities are good. We joined them for a coffee morning and the cakes were delicious. An all round 10 out of 10.

Very impressed with overall care from everyone here. The things that residents do are amazing. They have a better social life than me! Everyone is treated kindly and patiently, even though it must be so difficult at times! The loveliest thing is that the staff always seem happy in themselves and this translates to the residents. No one seems to get cross with them though I’ve seen some very trying behaviour. Well done to all of you and a big thank you! From the wife of the resident and dog.

Dad has been here since February. I am impressed with the care and compassion shown by all carers. They are so gentle, and patient and have a smile and a sense of humour. They take time to get to know him and his likes/dislikes. Dad's needs are met and he is consulted as to his wishes, retaining some dignity. I have also been impressed with the activities on offer. At first, I baulked at the idea of dad doing painting or crafts, things he would not do before dementia, but realised that the stimulation and variety of activities offered are so valuable. Dad does not always take part (his choice) but we love checking the social media to see what has been going on - this is a fantastic resource and much appreciated. We especially enjoy the coffee mornings. We all appreciate the way we are welcomed in and are able to bring dad's dog who has become a favourite of residents and staff. While we would rather dad was at home, we are happy with this home, his care, carers and the facilities on offer.

My mum joined Elburton Heights Care Home three years ago on the dementia unit, she was unable to care for herself. At first I was dreading the thought, though it was for the best. At first staff were not sure how to take my mum, and she them, but after a couple of weeks she settled in well and I realised very quickly that the staff picked up on her little ways, which helped my mum be part of the Elburton family. The unit she is on is very secure and she is free to go wherever in the knowledge she is safe. The entertainment is second to none, of which Mum takes part in most of the activities. It is so satisfying to see the photos posted for family members to see and the smiling face of my mum, she's made friends and is happy. It turns out my fears were misplaced and it was the best decision made to place her in a caring home: Elburton Heights. Thanks to all the caring staff at Elburton Heights. My mum is happy and content and that is all down to the whole team. Thank you from a grateful daughter.

We were very nervous and apprehensive when our father came into Elburton Heights, as he had been independent up until his fall. It’s the openness and friendliness of the staff that have put our minds to rest. Any questions we have had are dealt with quickly and positively. Dad’s pain is being taken seriously and is being addressed. The staff are treating my father as an individual and all the interactions we have had are positive and very supportive. A lovely, caring place.

The best decision we ever made was choosing this care home for mum after she suffered a massive stroke in 2015. She has been looked after phenomenally well. The love shown to her - and indeed all of us in the family - has been very much appreciated. Every aspect of care has been first-rate, from the quality of the food to the support of her religious beliefs, and we truly believe her happiness over the past seven years is down to the excellent staff who work here.

Following a few weeks spent in hospital, my mother went to this nursing home. She had vascular dementia. She was made very welcome and her care was excellent. She was there for two months before she died in February, having just been accepted for permanent care. It was sad that she didn't benefit from longer there - the staff were very caring and friendly.

My Dad went to live at the home in February. He had Dementia. The care he received was wonderful particularly from six staff members, to name but a few. I was very skeptical about my Dad going into a home but I soon realised that he was well looked after and cared for and the staff also really liked my Dad. Sadly my Dad recently passed away and my only complaint is that the new manager never bothered to even phone my mum to offer her condolences or speak to us when we went to collect my Dad's belongings which were very disappointing. Other than that I would have given 5 stars.

My Mum moved into the Dementia Nursing section of Elburton Heights in December 2021. I can honestly say I have nothing but praise and admiration for the entire staff and the way they cared for her. The staff were always cheerful, helpful, and full of compassion. The home makes a lot of effort to involve residents in activities where possible and ensure that they are as engaged as they can be. The home seemed exceptionally clean and the dining room and food looked lovely. My Mum received all her end-of-life care under the careful supervision of the nurses here. I am eternally grateful for their care and compassion in her last few days. Finding a home for a loved one is a daunting prospect, and I am happy to have found Elburton Heights. I was finally able to feel she was properly cared for and safe. Thank you.

When my brother was first admitted to the care home he was in reasonable health and wellness and was in good health. He had very bad sores on his legs. He was still the same when he was admitted to the hospital about three weeks ago with what I believe to be pneumonia and has since passed away. He also had dementia which I was told he never had. I do believe he would still be here if he was treated properly in the first place.
