Review from Aaron M (Grandson of Resident) published on 23 August 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My grandad was a resident from May to July 2021. He had a very poor experience in the care home. Reasons being, he was shouted at by a male career for grabbing his arm as he felt he was falling from the hoist. He had an iPad charger taken from him, so he was without a lead to charge the iPad to contact family members. The lead was replaced by a family member which had to pay for a new one which we still have no idea what happened to the first lead as my grandad did not and could not get out of bed to use it! Family members also took in when allowed, food and drink to supply for my grandad in which he hardly had any of. When leaving the care home the food and drink were not given back so we are questioning where has it all gone as the careers said that he had drunk and ate it which we know he couldn’t have as he had trouble with doing that himself!

We would not recommend this care home as we have had nothing but trouble and the main reason being my grandad did not feel comfortable there.

I was worried to come into the home, but the staff made me feel very welcome and have taken time to talk to me, even when they have been busy. They always check on me and make sure I'm ok. Day and night staff are amazing. The food is very good, and the home is nice, clean and smells nice. I have no problems to report, and I have sat in the garden and played bingo.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm glad to see you've settled in so well. The garden is beautiful, so I can understand why you have spent time in it.

Internal visit with our grandma, what can we say just wonderful from the moment we walked in, to leaving. Grandma looks amazing as always and well-loved and cared for.

The staff as always are just thoughtful and kind, with great leadership from the management team. We can't thank you enough.

Really excellent support and guidance throughout both visits to see my father. Polite on the phone when making enquirys about how he was settling in, the first visit in the pod was excellent. Visit easily organised and excellent inside visits made today. Thank you for everything you do for him.

After a traumatic experience getting to the point of needing to put my father into a home, I am 100% at ease that I have done the right thing for him and this has been possible due to the care and compassion they give to my whole family. The specialist knowledge they have has been so helpful and you can see that they genuinely care.

I had my first visit to Mum today indoors after nearly a year, due to the Coronavirus. The team at Elburtin Heights are amazing and always go the extra mile to ensure residents are well cared for and engaged in activities etc. Communication with family members is excellent, and regular updates are given. I feel very confident about my mother's care here at Elburton Heights.
