My wife had a severe stroke and after over six weeks in hospital, I got her into Sunrise of Westbourne. They look after her extremely well and I find the staff and service most excellent. She seems reasonably happy and very content. It is an excellent nursing home.

Our close friends mum went into Sunrise of Westbourne, has sadly since died but she had 3 very happy years with Sunrise. Everything was seamless for my friend from the moment they assessed her to the moment she went in.....very quickly she improved by the constant kindness and stimulation she received, when we visited her we were always made to feel welcome by the team and it was so obvious she was happy, relaxed, and felt at home and safe. It was also a great relief for us to see our friend happy with his decision about putting his mum in Sunrise.

Could not recommend more highly.

At a time when emotions were running high, Sunrise Westbourne helped me in moving my aunt into a nursing home and made it so much easier.
Their friendliness from the start was amazing and their outstanding care to ensure she settled in well and met other residents with similar backgrounds/hobbies really was appreciated.

I cannot believe how well my aunt has settled in, made friends and joins in (and now encourages other residents) with the many and varied activities including little trips out on the minibus, which go on throughout the day/evening.

I moved in her mid-January having never lived in a communal complex before I had mixed feelings. However, it is now September and I must admit I am very happy here.
The staff are both pleasant and helpful whilst the other occupant's ladies and gents are very friendly.

All in all, I must say and often speak very well of Sunrise of Westbourne and recommend it when necessary.

It is difficult to find words to adequately express how pleased my family is that my grandfather resides at Sunrise. The care he receives is fabulous and he is treated with dignity and the utmost respect at all times. The home itself and the staff are wonderful. Knowing he is so well looked after is a big relief for us given we live overseas and are not able to look out for him personally on a regular basis. The ongoing updates we receive from Sunrise reassure us that my grandfather continues to be well. Thank you to everyone at Sunrise for all you do.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Sunrise of Westbourne for the last eleven months. The care, consideration, patience and support that she is receiving from everyone at this home is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble. The food and all facilities are excellent. She also receives good nursing care whenever she is feeling under the weather.

Whenever we visit she is happy and frequently says, "I do not know how you found this place but you could not have found anywhere better".

My husband who came here on 1st March 2017 with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's has deteriorated since then. I consider him to be very well looked after and cared for despite his numerous falls.

The staff are always friendly, welcoming and informative keeping myself and my daughter updated with his well-being.

My relative was admitted to Sunrise as, after neglecting himself following the death of his wife, he was suffering from malnutrition and general poor health and welfare. After only 2 weeks, he is brighter, smiley and eating. Smartly dressed and clean. A credit to the staff and ready for the next part of his life.

My late mother received excellent care for 6.5years until the end of her life.
The staff were knowledgeable about the challenges her condition presented and handled them with competence, tact and good humour.

Her health improved after moving in from hospital and she lived much longer than medical opinion had predicted.

It was easily one of the hardest things I have ever had to do - placing my darling dad into the hands of a residential care home. Sunrise seemed an obvious choice having had regular contact with my parents and inviting dad to attend the memory café each month. Even so, I felt much apprehension when full-time care became our only option.
All of my fears have been proven needless as Sunrise has excelled in their efforts to settle dad into his new life and a warm welcome is always received by his guests.

I am wholeheartedly delighted in their care for my dad.

Within the last 10 days, there has been a marked improvement in my aunt. She has had her hair done, made a good friend. Came to visit on Tuesday this week and she was playing a game with other residents, came to visit yesterday and she had already gone out on the trip.

When she's here, she is better than she's been over the last few months.

It's a lovely place to work and a great place to call home.

I have been working in Westbourne Tower Care Home for over 15 years. I have progressed throughout the company from Care Assistant to Lead Care to Reminiscence Coordinator and now Deputy Manager. I am very proud to lead a team, many of whom have been long-service team members, who constantly provide quality care whilst keeping our core values at the forefront of everything we do.

Steve BishopJob Title:Dining Service Co-ordinatorJoined: 2007

I have been here since it opened in 2006. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Although I already had the skill set I was working as a Bank Chef alongside my own business and was asked to take on the managerial role which was an easy transition. I trained and worked in London, Morocco, France and Italy before returning to the UK and settling in Bournemouth. My food specialities are multicultural and the residents love it when I do theme days. I have been a major part of this home being awarded CQC Outstanding, the CQC assessor loved my secret ingredient “ a bit of love”. I run a monthly Dining Committee where residents can influence what is on the menu, likes and dislikes and I love nothing more than walking around the dining room on a daily basis to ensure their wishes have been followed. I like to surprise residents with their favourite dishes, for special occasions. I have to say I love my job and my residents make me smile every day. I am proud to say I work here.

I am delighted to have been recently appointed for this important role, in delivering a varied, stimulating and educational programme for our residents. I like to think outside the box and ongoing feedback from our residents, it enables my talented activity team to deliver, along with our team of amazing volunteers. I bring to the role my experience of managing teams, Interior Design, Floristry, Art, and Teaching and I even played table tennis for Wales! I am inspired by talking to our residents and finding out what they enjoy and what makes them smile, whether that's an entertainer, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Camera or Theatre Club or 1 to 1 person-centred activities. 110% is put into everything we do here.

I have worked here since 2006, and the things that have remained constant throughout that time are the love, dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. No two days are the same; there is always something going on which makes you smile and our residents become part of our extended family. We are committed to filling their days with happy moments.

My role is to market our home and welcome new residents into it, dealing with professionals and family members. Making a significant decision at a critical time is made easy when we have a beautiful product, lovely food, a great activities programme (including minibus outings) and caring staff, all coupled with happy appreciative residents and family members, this is borne out by our positive carehome.co.uk reviews.
