My father has been in Westbourne Tower for less than two weeks but I can already see a huge improvement. He has started to eat again after starving himself for four months and he looks like his old self. The staff are all lovely, kind and caring and treat him with the TLC that he was denied before. The home is clean and nicely furnished and the food looks and smells delicious.

Dad is being well looked after and the staff have done whatever they can to help him. Unfortunately, he is deteriorating and the staff have offered suggestions on how we can make him more comfortable. We are glad we chose Westbourne Tower for him.

After researching several options, I ultimately chose to move to Westbourne Tower Carehome. During my visits, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and I had the opportunity to spend time with other residents before finalising my decision. From the very beginning, I have been met with exceptional hospitality and service from all the staff. I am already feeling at home and have no regrets about leaving my apartment. Thank you for making my transition a smooth and positive experience.

After extensive research, we chose to move my father to Westbourne Tower Care Home. We visited several care homes before making our decision, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere at Westbourne Tower stood out to us. The staff's friendliness and adaptability made the transition seamless for my father. He had the opportunity to connect with other residents before making his final decision, which reaffirmed his choice. We are very happy to see him settling in.

My good friend has recently moved in after her 98-year-old husband passed away.
She was obviously very apprehensive about leaving her flat which they had shared for many years.
When she made the initial tour of the Westbourne Tower we were both very impressed so the decision was made to move in.
She settled in very quickly and we are all very happy with the care and attention she has been given by all the staff. Whenever we visit the staff are very friendly and professional and we have no worries when leaving her in their care.
She wasn't eating well at home but now she is enjoying the wonderful meals and indeed has put on a little weight.

A huge thank you to the Senior Director of Community Relations and her team for making this move such a good experience.

Mum has been a resident for three months. She is much improved physically and in her mood. She seems to be enjoying life again. The level of care is excellent, and I have been very impressed at how quickly all the staff get to know residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble, and it means a lot to us to know Mum is safe and comfortable. The variety of activities has opened her life up again.

Reply from Wendy Blow, Senior Director of Community Relations at Westbourne Tower Care Home - Avery Collection

Thank you so much, Jane, for trusting us with your Mum. She is a great addition to our home, always smiling and engaging; she has settled incredibly well and gets involved with most things. I think meal times are a favourite for her as she has a lovely chat with her table companions.

We received very quick comprehensive responses to emails when we made an initial enquiry. We were very impressed when we came to lock around, and I am delighted now that my father has moved in. The staff are very kind, there are lots of activities, and the food looks amazing. My daughter enjoys visiting Grandpa now that he is closer to us, and the staff welcomes our visits, which is lovely.

My mother took up residence at Westbourne Tower in mid-July 2023. Initially, the stay was for a four-week period but she enjoyed the welcoming and caring environment so much that she intended it to be her forever home. I cannot praise the staff, facilities and accommodation highly enough and have recommended it to several friends in similar positions.

I have been here since it opened in 2006. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Although I already had the skill set I was working as a Bank Chef alongside my own business and was asked to take on the managerial role which was an easy transition. I trained and worked in London, Morocco, France and Italy before returning to the UK and settling in Bournemouth. My food specialities are multicultural and the residents love it when I do theme days. I have been a major part of this home being awarded CQC Outstanding, the CQC assessor loved my secret ingredient “ a bit of love”. I run a monthly Dining Committee where residents can influence what is on the menu, likes and dislikes and I love nothing more than walking around the dining room on a daily basis to ensure their wishes have been followed. I like to surprise residents with their favourite dishes, for special occasions. I have to say I love my job and my residents make me smile every day. I am proud to say I work here.

I am delighted to have been recently appointed for this important role, in delivering a varied, stimulating and educational programme for our residents. I like to think outside the box and ongoing feedback from our residents, it enables my talented activity team to deliver, along with our team of amazing volunteers. I bring to the role my experience of managing teams, Interior Design, Floristry, Art, and Teaching and I even played table tennis for Wales! I am inspired by talking to our residents and finding out what they enjoy and what makes them smile, whether that's an entertainer, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Camera or Theatre Club or 1 to 1 person-centred activities. 110% is put into everything we do here.

I have worked here since 2006, and the things that have remained constant throughout that time are the love, dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. No two days are the same; there is always something going on which makes you smile and our residents become part of our extended family. We are committed to filling their days with happy moments.

My role is to market our home and welcome new residents into it, dealing with professionals and family members. Making a significant decision at a critical time is made easy when we have a beautiful product, lovely food, a great activities programme (including minibus outings) and caring staff, all coupled with happy appreciative residents and family members, this is borne out by our positive carehome.co.uk reviews.
