My partners mum has been here for over a year now, and I have visited numerous times. It’s a wonderful environment, every staff member I have met, seems engaged, exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. My partners mum loves living here and chose to stay after a period of respite because it worked so well for her. They have enabled her to continue to enjoy the things that make her happy and in turn that has helped her health tremendously.

At Sunrise of Westbourne, our ultimate goal is to provide the best possible level of care we can. From our carers, nurses and activities team we strive to achieve a sociable and comfortable community our residents can call home. We are so happy to see the improvements made by your partners mum.

Sunrise has been excellent in every way and provided 1st class respite care to my partners mum and allowed her to rest and recuperate following a difficult time in hospital. We are grateful to all at Sunrise for everything they have done and can see how much my partners mum has benefitted from her respite stay at Sunrise of Westbourne.

I've known several of the residents over many years that have gone here and seen how well they are looked after, the level of engagement of the staff and the attention to catering, activities and non-core functions over and above the carers that deal with the day-to-day. Everyone is known by name and their history. Recently, I moved my mother here after moving from Hampshire to Dorset. She has a lovely room, they have made progress quickly with the nursing staff on some of her medical issues and Mum is settling in very well. I like that many of the key staff have been here a very long time and the current ratings are well deserved. Nothing is ever perfect and there are always wrinkles, the difference here is that everyone wants to try to solve it to give every resident a good quality of life and a comfortable experience. Well done Sunrise. Please keep up the good work.

My husband was very pleased to be able to get an emergency respite room as quickly as we needed it and once I was here, for what turned out to be five weeks, I immediately felt comfortable and welcome because of the friendliness and professionalism of the management and care staff.
The restaurant was well run with attentive staff and the daily menu changes offered by the executive chef gave me a wide choice of healthy meals.

But during my stay, it was the attention of all the young care staff, who were kind, caring and lovely to speak to, which was the highlight.

The level of care and the service at Sunrise of Westbourne is outstanding. My nan is extremely well cared for and the staff are very bright and bubbly. Nan has been there for a couple of years now and they joke around and laugh a lot; which is really lovely as it makes for a very friendly environment and we joke within the family and call it 'the hotel' - and it really is like that. The chef is amazing! He really looks after everyone so well. Nan has always loved her food and she often tells me about the special dishes the chef has done just for her. I eat there for lunch whenever I visit. The food is excellent.

My girlfriend's Nan is in Sunrise and has loved her stay there, she even went on a recent skiing trip with the care home's help which she had always dreamed of. I’ve been in and visited a few times with her and there are always lots of activities for residents to choose from alongside the excellent food and lounge area where their friends and families can always come in and visit. The staff are always really friendly and overall, it’s an excellent care home.

My mum has been here for about 6 months - year. All of the staff are very attentive and actually care. They are all friendly and lovely, especially the activities man and the BOC are extremely helpful. My mum is now safe and it is a big weight off my mind knowing she is fed and happy. Lots of trips to go on, food is good and rooms are well decorated. I have sung their praises many times.

Very impressed by the attitude of the staff, no rush, just steady patience. The use of Christian names and a feeling of friendship and understanding. The meals are practical and service excellent. Accommodation is of a high standard and I am leaving with my two-week stay feeling so much younger than my present age of 88. If I should need any other respite in the future, I will use this home. Value for money? Yes!

We received a warm welcome from the moment we walked in the door and the care provided by the team on Dad's floor has been exceptional. The staff all seem very happy and are all prepared to go the extra mile for Dad, especially during the critical settling in period. There are plenty of activities taking place and food is also very good. The most impressive thing however, is the sheer number of staff on hand at any time of the day and their willingness to help with any need or query. They are all wonderful and can't thank them enough!

Should be recognised for an award of excellence!!

Words are inadequate to express our gratitude and commendation for the top-quality, genuine care and love mum received.
Sunrise provided the surety of mum’s safety and happiness when we were away - underpinned with excellent communications.
Staff know and understand their residents, they take time and effort to do so. They offer an environment where the energy and positivity offered by all staff is infectious. They are tireless in their efforts to make everyone comfortable, safe and enjoy their living. Just like any family, this is not always easy but staff achieve this with humour and diligence.
The palliative care offered was outstanding. Staff ensured mum had a comfortable, peaceful passing with her family, we too were cared for throughout this sad time
Family & care home were one – the staff are amazing, committed and special.

Thanks to Management for doing so in such a knowledgeable, efficient, friendly manner.

My relative has been a resident at Sunrise for just 2 weeks and in that time, I have seen a vast improvement. She came from another care home where she was very depressed and her memory was failing.

Sunrise of Westbourne took my Nan in after some hospital visits changed her normal carers capabilities. Her time here has been incredible, full of life, fun, company and great food. Being able to have our entire family join our Nan for a big family meal is a pleasure. We weren't expecting to be able to enjoy all together.

The activities have really helped Nan with her mobility and confidence and are delivered in such a great way. Highly recommend.

Following a short stay in a hospital, my neighbour needed good care and her well-being to be monitored. Sunrise ticked the boxes. Within a few hours and at short notice she was accepted into Sunrise. This is a massive step for her and initially, it will be for 2 weeks respite. We look forward to the experience ending with no fears for future care.

I have been here since it opened in 2006. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Although I already had the skill set I was working as a Bank Chef alongside my own business and was asked to take on the managerial role which was an easy transition. I trained and worked in London, Morocco, France and Italy before returning to the UK and settling in Bournemouth. My food specialities are multicultural and the residents love it when I do theme days. I have been a major part of this home being awarded CQC Outstanding, the CQC assessor loved my secret ingredient “ a bit of love”. I run a monthly Dining Committee where residents can influence what is on the menu, likes and dislikes and I love nothing more than walking around the dining room on a daily basis to ensure their wishes have been followed. I like to surprise residents with their favourite dishes, for special occasions. I have to say I love my job and my residents make me smile every day. I am proud to say I work here.

I am delighted to have been recently appointed for this important role, in delivering a varied, stimulating and educational programme for our residents. I like to think outside the box and ongoing feedback from our residents, it enables my talented activity team to deliver, along with our team of amazing volunteers. I bring to the role my experience of managing teams, Interior Design, Floristry, Art, and Teaching and I even played table tennis for Wales! I am inspired by talking to our residents and finding out what they enjoy and what makes them smile, whether that's an entertainer, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Camera or Theatre Club or 1 to 1 person-centred activities. 110% is put into everything we do here.

I have worked here since 2006, and the things that have remained constant throughout that time are the love, dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. No two days are the same; there is always something going on which makes you smile and our residents become part of our extended family. We are committed to filling their days with happy moments.

My role is to market our home and welcome new residents into it, dealing with professionals and family members. Making a significant decision at a critical time is made easy when we have a beautiful product, lovely food, a great activities programme (including minibus outings) and caring staff, all coupled with happy appreciative residents and family members, this is borne out by our positive carehome.co.uk reviews.
