An amazing place for dad. The care is excellent, the people are so friendly and caring. He enjoys all the activities, thinks the food is wonderful. His room is comfortable, everywhere is extremely clean. The staff are so thoughtful as well. Where we couldn’t visit on Christmas Day due to COVID, they
sent us a photo of dad and a summary of what he’d been up to. It made our day to receive this!

Colten Care, unbelievable care, go above and beyond, not the cheapest provider but could highly recommend. My father has dementia which is a horrible disease, the care they provide is 10/10. They have taken the pressure off the family and given dad the best care he could have. 100% recommend. Thanks

My brother moved into The Aldbury on 7th January 202 from another care home where he had been resident since end March 2019. I was instantly impressed by the nursing staff, carers and activities team. Everyone was warm and friendly to my brother and demonstrative showing they cared for him and wanted
to get to know him and hear about his colourful life. A happy 'anything goes' atmosphere my brother is never stopped from clearing away plates for washing up or moving chairs to an exact position so no reason for him to say 'got away I'll do what I want to do' and get cross. The carers excel themselves no grumbles at keeping changing my brother's wet shorts and being in the firing line to his expletives when insisting on him wearing incontinence pads which he hates. They laugh and joke with him and show him they really care for him by the occasional hug which makes him feel warm and loved which he needs. the activities team are very impressed with their vibrant personalities and enjoyment of entertaining the residents participating in all the games and encouraging them to get up and dance with them when an entertainer is singing. When a resident is not feeling like participating in an activity they go and spend time with them for a friendly chat. The activities team exude fun as they love their job and make the residents feel special by chatting to them giving them a hug and flirting which my brother loves. The housekeeping and laundry are very efficient nonstop cleaning and washing and ironing which they all enjoy and happily chat with the residents. The place is spotless, I even spied the door brass plate being cleaned. The office and receptionists are friendly helpful and easy to communicate with The Aldbury is run as a team all working well together.

My mother has been a resident at The Aldbury since September 2017. I live in Australia and when I was contacted by The Aldbury to say my mother’s health was deteriorating, I arranged to fly over. In the meantime, The Companion Team arranged internet sessions every night so I was able to speak to my
mother. This was so valuable and special.
I am here now and once again, I am blown away by the care my mother is receiving from everyone at The Aldbury. Nothing is too much trouble and the teamwork is amazing. Staff from every department pop in to see my mother and offer support to our family. Often a cleaner, the minibus driver, a laundry assistant, a companion team member, the hairdresser, receptionist or management will sit by my mother’s bedside for a few minutes and have a chat. The carers and nurses are regularly in and out making sure my mother is comfortable and the chefs are providing her special food requirements.
I can’t thank The Aldbury enough. This is an exceptional care home.

With regards to the rating of satisfactory for security, you raised some issues after your Dad had been discharged from our care which you had not raised before. Having been involved with The Aldbury for the past three years, I have only good things to say about the home. The care my husband has received throughout this time has been excellent. The carers and nurses are always very caring and supportive. The standard of the food is excellent with a great deal
of thought going into the menus. The home is spotlessly clean and never smells. The companion team do a fantastic job keeping residents stimulated, always being very inventive. I would strongly recommend The Aldbury for anyones loved ones living with dementia.

I am in the healthcare profession myself so am quite discerning about the standard of care. My mother in law was in The Aldbury for a short while (just under two months) but these were the happiest for her since being diagnosed with severe Alzheimer's. Every single member of staff looked after her with
genuine care and was obviously trained to a high standard. Unfortunately, she had a stroke from which she never recovered so was discharged from hospital and went back to The Aldbury for end of life care. The home came into its own then, looking after not just my mum in law but all of us (her rather big family), nothing was too much for them and she died with the utmost dignity and love.
We have only praise for the home, excellent staff and manager and would not doubt in recommending it to anyone. The best of the best.

My views on the home are positive. It is well equipped and to a high standard, offering excellent care and has an outstanding activity programme. It has been apparent very quickly that my aunt is flourishing in this environment and that the constant stimulation is having a positive effect on her health
and well-being. Her hygiene and appearance have also improved dramatically, and her weight gain is evident too (she has previously been very underweight and frail).
Since my aunt’s arrival, I have had follow up conversations with the home and nursing staff. I have reviewed the initial care plan provided by the home and will continue to have an active role. I feel very fortunate to have found The Aldbury and would highly recommend this home to anyone else who is looking for respite or residential care for a relative / loved one.

Christmas Day at the Aldbury was exciting and a happy event. Father Xmas arrived handing out presents to the residents. The Christmas dinner meal got full marks. A real treat, followed by pudding with white sauce. All the staff were dressed up as elves. The Xmas crackers on the table, contained pens,
keyrings etc., we all had gold hats on. A really enjoyable day, much happiness.

Ever since my grandmother moved into The Aldbury, she has transformed. All of the carers have treated her with, not just respect, but care, attention and compassion. My mother and I spent Christmas Day at The Aldbury, where we were met with mince pies followed by Christmas dinner. All of the staff made
the day incredibly special for the residents and it was great to be able to enjoy the day all together. The Aldbury always go over and above to make everyone happy.
