My Mum stayed at The Aldbury for a month's respite care and she loved it. We as a family were most impressed with the staff and the care they provided. The Aldbury was spotlessly clean, the menu was of restaurant standard and the activities varied and stimulating. Mum is already booked in for another stay.

Since April 2018, we as a family have used a total of 4 local Care Homes to provide short term respite stays for my grandmother. The Aldbury has been by far our favourite and the reason why we return. The building itself has a lovely homely feel to it. It is far from clinical, is light and spacious, and has plenty of outdoor space, which is particularly important to Nanny, who is a real sun worshipper. The staff seem very attentive to Nanny and genuinely pleased to see her when she returns. The quality of the activities and trips also seem very good, and the family are kept abreast of this by phone, email and on social media, which is really reassuring. Nanny seems relaxed and happy when we visit, and largely well presented (which from personal experience of caring for her, is no mean feat!). It also feels that our instructions and requests are listened to and actioned to the very best of the staff’s abilities.

We are extremely happy with the Care that Nanny receives here.

So glad my mum is at the Aldbury. Her dementia is advanced and so her capacity is limited but the staff make a real effort to bring joy to her life, to understand her and communicate with her. She is still able to go out on trips to see her beloved sea and she loves the garden. When occasionally I have a concern, I raise it and the staff act fast to resolve the situation. Thank you Team Aldbury.

My mum spent four weeks in The Aldbury. I was really impressed with how quickly she settled in. The staff were always welcoming and kind. It was easy to arrange visits, and we enjoyed our time sitting on the bench under the vine or exploring the garden. Mum joined in a number of activities, including baking. She allowed staff to help her with her personal chair and enjoyed a haircut. This is all down to the compassion and care she received.

My mum became a resident at The Aldbury earlier this year. The staff have been wonderful during this difficult period and have worked very hard to help my mum settle and support the family. Their communication with me has been excellent and I get regular phone calls to discuss mum's medical and emotional needs. They know my mum very well and focus on her interests to keep her engaged and involved in all the activities.

Immediately on arrival at The Aldbury I am made to feel very welcome and supported. I have been very impressed at the level of support I have received from all the staff. They are very empathetic to the emotional difficulties that dementia can cause to both mum and the extended family. The Aldbury has a lovely warm, happy atmosphere and this is down to the staff who are very dedicated to providing excellent care.

My husband had 4-week respite care at The Aldbury, and during his time there, he was extremely well looked after. Due to Covid restrictions, there was a 2 week isolation period, but during this time, he was never left alone. What very caring staff The Adlbury does have. I have no complaints whatsoever with The Aldbury, and would highly recommend this nursing home.

The wonderful team at The Aldbury not only demonstrate great care for my mum, but they also extend it to my dad and me whenever we visit or call.
Placing Mum in a home during lockdown was a worry, but the welcome she received made it easier. The reception team have always so welcoming and friendly, and I had the pleasure of meeting the chef as I left after a recent room visit with Mum. He went above and beyond to chat about Mum's diet (and fussy ways) and clearly knew my mum despite catering for a number of residents.
I feel complete confidence in the nursing team, who provide excellent communication and are always happy to update me.

The health care and companionship team are amazing. When I visit Mum, they are so patient with her and genuinely care. Mum is so happy in her new home with her new friends and many activities. She has been a permanent resident for 6-months now.

An amazing place for dad. The care is excellent, the people are so friendly and caring. He enjoys all the activities, thinks the food is wonderful. His room is comfortable, everywhere is extremely clean. The staff are so thoughtful as well. Where we couldn’t visit on Christmas Day due to COVID, they sent us a photo of dad and a summary of what he’d been up to. It made our day to receive this!

Colten Care, unbelievable care, go above and beyond, not the cheapest provider but could highly recommend. My father has dementia which is a horrible disease, the care they provide is 10/10. They have taken the pressure off the family and given dad the best care he could have. 100% recommend. Thanks to all the staff.

My brother moved into The Aldbury on 7th January 202 from another care home where he had been resident since end March 2019. I was instantly impressed by the nursing staff, carers and activities team. Everyone was warm and friendly to my brother and demonstrative showing they cared for him and wanted to get to know him and hear about his colourful life. A happy 'anything goes' atmosphere my brother is never stopped from clearing away plates for washing up or moving chairs to an exact position so no reason for him to say 'got away I'll do what I want to do' and get cross. The carers excel themselves no grumbles at keeping changing my brother's wet shorts and being in the firing line to his expletives when insisting on him wearing incontinence pads which he hates. They laugh and joke with him and show him they really care for him by the occasional hug which makes him feel warm and loved which he needs. the activities team are very impressed with their vibrant personalities and enjoyment of entertaining the residents participating in all the games and encouraging them to get up and dance with them when an entertainer is singing. When a resident is not feeling like participating in an activity they go and spend time with them for a friendly chat. The activities team exude fun as they love their job and make the residents feel special by chatting to them giving them a hug and flirting which my brother loves. The housekeeping and laundry are very efficient nonstop cleaning and washing and ironing which they all enjoy and happily chat with the residents. The place is spotless, I even spied the door brass plate being cleaned. The office and receptionists are friendly helpful and easy to communicate with The Aldbury is run as a team all working well together.

My mother has been a resident at The Aldbury since September 2017. I live in Australia and when I was contacted by The Aldbury to say my mother’s health was deteriorating, I arranged to fly over. In the meantime, The Companion Team arranged internet sessions every night so I was able to speak to my mother. This was so valuable and special.
I am here now and once again, I am blown away by the care my mother is receiving from everyone at The Aldbury. Nothing is too much trouble and the teamwork is amazing. Staff from every department pop in to see my mother and offer support to our family. Often a cleaner, the minibus driver, a laundry assistant, a companion team member, the hairdresser, receptionist or management will sit by my mother’s bedside for a few minutes and have a chat. The carers and nurses are regularly in and out making sure my mother is comfortable and the chefs are providing her special food requirements.

I can’t thank The Aldbury enough. This is an exceptional care home.

I was met and greeted in a polite and professional manner by staff and management at all times. The nursing care that my father received was excellent and he was always treated in a friendly manner, with full respect and dignity in an environment where nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend The Aldbury to anyone and would also like to thank the staff and management for their support at a difficult time for me. Thank you.
