Having been involved with The Aldbury for the past three years, I have only good things to say about the home. The care my husband has received throughout this time has been excellent. The carers and nurses are always very caring and supportive. The standard of the food is excellent with a great deal of thought going into the menus. The home is spotlessly clean and never smells. The companion team do a fantastic job keeping residents stimulated, always being very inventive. I would strongly recommend The Aldbury for anyones loved ones living with dementia.

I am in the healthcare profession myself so am quite discerning about the standard of care. My mother in law was in The Aldbury for a short while (just under two months) but these were the happiest for her since being diagnosed with severe Alzheimer's. Every single member of staff looked after her with genuine care and was obviously trained to a high standard. Unfortunately, she had a stroke from which she never recovered so was discharged from hospital and went back to The Aldbury for end of life care. The home came into its own then, looking after not just my mum in law but all of us (her rather big family), nothing was too much for them and she died with the utmost dignity and love.

We have only praise for the home, excellent staff and manager and would not doubt in recommending it to anyone. The best of the best.

My views on the home are positive. It is well equipped and to a high standard, offering excellent care and has an outstanding activity programme. It has been apparent very quickly that my aunt is flourishing in this environment and that the constant stimulation is having a positive effect on her health and well-being. Her hygiene and appearance have also improved dramatically, and her weight gain is evident too (she has previously been very underweight and frail).

Since my aunt’s arrival, I have had follow up conversations with the home and nursing staff. I have reviewed the initial care plan provided by the home and will continue to have an active role. I feel very fortunate to have found The Aldbury and would highly recommend this home to anyone else who is looking for respite or residential care for a relative / loved one.

Christmas Day at the Aldbury was exciting and a happy event. Father Xmas arrived handing out presents to the residents. The Christmas dinner meal got full marks. A real treat, followed by pudding with white sauce. All the staff were dressed up as elves. The Xmas crackers on the table, contained pens, keyrings etc., we all had gold hats on. A really enjoyable day, much happiness.

Ever since my grandmother moved into The Aldbury, she has transformed. All of the carers have treated her with, not just respect, but care, attention and compassion. My mother and I spent Christmas Day at The Aldbury, where we were met with mince pies followed by Christmas dinner. All of the staff made the day incredibly special for the residents and it was great to be able to enjoy the day all together. The Aldbury always go over and above to make everyone happy.

We needed respite for Mum. We wanted to go on holiday ourselves and we were unable to take Mum with us. We looked around many homes for respite for Mum who has dementia. I didn't want her sta in a chair in a circle with others watching TV. The Aldbury did not do this, the stimulation she got was brilliant. From painting, knitting, cooking, singing, crafting, the list is endless. She was so well looked after, she had a brilliant holiday, so did we!

My God-Mother has only been with the Aldbury for 10 days but this move was at the end of a very traumatic 8 weeks for her and those around her. The Aldbury right from the onset made me feel confident that they were able to cope with her complex and distressing needs. I can't thank them enough for everything so far in our journey together.

I'm very happy with the staff who look after my husband very well, he always seems very happy.
The care home itself I consider to be one of the best I've been to.
So that makes it easy for me to let my husband stay here.

I come in every day and it is always the best I can expect.

My father has been a resident for just four weeks and he has settled very well. The staff have been kind and supportive both to him and to all the family at a difficult time. The information and introduction to the home on our first couple of visits was excellent and comprehensive. So far, we feel confident we have made the right choice for our dad.

My mum was in The Aldbury almost 2 years. She's had lots of kindness, trips and activities and at the end very personal care. Staff were able to raise a smile from her even when she was very unwell and my sisters and I felt we could not have done better for her.

My father's health and well being has improved dramatically since becoming a resident at The Aldbury. He is able to walk around freely which he really enjoys. The staff are very kind and helpful and he receives great care from them. The catering side of the home is first class offering constant food and drink. The home is always immaculate and clean. Lovely to have the coffee shop if needing quiet time with a loved one. Such a relief to have peace of mind knowing that he is being looked after so well.

The home really is first class and I deeply regret that my husband was not admitted to The Aldbury when he first got ill. He is now finally very happy and content. Also, I can now rest. My husband and I were shown so much dignity and respect when we arrived at the home. The management and all the staff are excellent.

My husband is very happy for the first time in 10 months.
