I/we visit mum at least once a week and have been very impressed by the high standard of care. I have witnessed several specific incidents where carers have been very, very quick to attend to any disruptive behaviours. There is a lot of care to preserve the dignity of the residents and generally good
communication to let relatives know if there are any particular incidents or concerns.

My father spent his final weeks of his life at The Aldbury, as a family it was a very significant step moving into residential care for both him and my mother, however it was made as easy as possible with the help and support from staff. My father had no verbal communication, however every effort was
made to accommodate this including a staff member devising a simple communication tool. Initially there were a few little difficulties but these were resolved with discussion with the family to seek a way forward in a constructive and sympathetic way. My father spent his last birthday and Christmas at the home, we valued very much the opportunity to enjoy a private family birthday meal in the coffee shop a treasured memory for us all and his final day we cannot thank staff enough for their compassionate support and the peaceful environment provided for him to slip away.

My dad was a resident at The Aldbury from November 2013 to October 2015 when he passed away. Dad was admitted initially as an urgent case to provide respite care for my mum, we hadn't had time to do any research, but it quickly became clear we had got the best home possible for dad. All the carers are
completely dedicated and provide a personal service, bespoke to the individuals, caring and compassionate. This applies to everyone at the home, managers, nurses, cooks, cleaners and receptionists, nothing is too much trouble. Every resident is treated as an individual. Similar care was displayed to my mum when she visited. Dad was very content and happy and we are very grateful he spent his last months here.

My brother-in-law moved to The Aldbury in July after being in two other nursing homes. From the start the dedication of all the staff was clearly evident and he settled in very quickly. Nothing is too much trouble, each person is treated as an individual and their needs are met with respect ensuring
their dignity at all times. My brother-in-law can be difficult at times but all the staff deal with this in a very professional way, diffusing the situation by showing him they care and making him feel special. At the other homes he stayed in his room for most of the time but since being at The Aldbury he asks to go in the lounge with the other residents and has been out on minibus trips. The activities each day are excellent and we are encouraged to join in when visiting.
Before when leaving him we used to worry about the care he was receiving but since moving him to The Aldbury we are quite happy to go home knowing that he is well cared for, clean and as happy as his illness will let him be. We have got to know some of the other residents and considering the nature of dementia there is always a happy atmosphere in the home what ever time of day we visit.
On a personal note I would like to thank the staff for the support given to me and my husband. We are always made to feel welcome from the time we sign in at the reception desk to the time we leave and we would recommend this home to anyone.
