The home is split into two areas, one for dementia nursing and one for dementia residential. That could be for day care, a couple of weeks of respite or a more long-term move.

The hospital transferred my brother to Elm Grove at the request of both of us. He is extremely happy and comfortable and very well looked after. The staff are very friendly and helpful in any way they can. I would highly recommend Elm Grove to anyone.

My mum was admitted to Chestnut Lodge during lockdown and so I've not yet been able to enter and see her - apart from Pod visits. The staff have been wonderful, friendly, helpful and they seem genuinely fond of her already. It means so much to know that she is safe, comfortable and well looked after - I'm really looking forward to seeing her room and how she's settled... soon, I hope!
Thank you so much for your lovely words, and for your patience and understanding during this incredibly difficult time. We are so pleased that you can feel at ease with your Mother in our care, and we look forward to you visiting us soon.
The care staff are fantastic and show great compassion to the residents. I am pleased Mum is in safe hands. The home has been exceptional throughout the Covid pandemic.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we really appreciate you sharing your lovely feedback with us.
My father has only been a resident for three weeks, but what a turnaround. He is very well looked after and eating properly again. All the staff are friendly and very caring - thank you.

It has been lovely to be able to visit mum in a safe, warm environment. Every effort has been made to keep us all well.
Thank you for your kind words - we really appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments and the recognition of the effort we put into our visits!
Our dear mum sadly passed away recently, but the love and support she received from Elm Grove was outstanding. Sadly, most of her time spent in the nursing home was during Covid restrictions, but staff ensured we had regular contact with mum, ensuring telephone calls and face time calls when we were not able to see her in person. We were also regularly updated with emails and photos - a wonderful way to allow us to see what she was up to! The few months prior to Covid demonstrated to us how settled she was, and it was lovely to see the wonderful relationships she developed with all the nurses and carers. From chats when the Daily Sparkle newspapers were delivered to her room, to playing cricket in the garden - mum was always happy, entertained and treated with dignity. We have felt completely supported during our recent loss and would highly recommend Elm Grove to anyone needing to look for a nursing home - the love and care of the staff to the residents is wonderful to witness.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are saddened to hear of your loss and we hope you can go away from this feeling like your Mum had the best care possible.
Very good care, always helpful and caring. Would recommend.

Our mother was initially admitted to assess the extent of her Dementia. She had the family were immediately very impressed with the staff and the surroundings of Elm grove. Since she started full-time care there the staff have been excellent and mum is very at home there. Could not wish for a better home. Thank you, Elm Grove.

My mum has been in Chestnut Lodge for 5 years and is extremely happy, her happiness is the most important thing for me so I know she is in the right place. The staff are so kind and thoughtful and nothing is too much trouble.

I was extremely impressed and reassured with the safety measures in place before and during after my visit today. Rules for visiting were clearly explained. Mum arrived on time, clean tidy and wrapped up well. A carer accompanied mum the whole visit she was kind and attentive to mum, helped prompt mum to engage, difficult because of dementia. Being able to visit after such a long time was very important to me. The staff were empathetic and went to great lengths to reassure they are doing everything possible to keep Covid-19 free. So glad to be able to thank them personally for their dedication.
We are very happy to hear you are satisfied with the quality of our care. Thank you for your praise.
My visit was during the coronavirus lockdown and the home has commenced outdoor visits, which in my opinion has been organised very well, within the safety measures put in place are very well implemented for residents, staff, and visitors.
Thank you for your understanding during such a difficult time. We appreciate it is very hard not being able to see your loved one for such a long time. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
I had not seen my wife since March. I have had now two garden visits. Both were extremely well organised and the weather was good. The care and preparation taken to keep my wife safe and comfortable by the staff and manager were exemplary and fully deserve a commendation.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such kind comments.
Elm Grove is an exceptional care home in every aspect of care. All the staff, from the cleaners, carers, office staff, manager are all so approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I have seen an improvement in my mother since being there, she is well cared for and there is always someone there for her needs, the carers are so good with her. The rooms are light and airy with a garden view, when the weather allows they arrange for time in the garden. Activities are plentiful for those who wish to take part, nothing is to much trouble to anyone that you ask something of. I can relax knowing that my mother is safe and well cared for.
Thank you for your praise. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mother in our care.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the whole team at Elm Grove for their magnificent care and professionalism during all of the Covid-19 pandemic. They have given Mum the continued 'Gold Standard' care that they always do but now in even more difficult circumstances. Whilst we haven't been able to visit Mum, the Elm Grove team have kept us informed week by week of how Mum, residents and staff are doing and this has been an immense help and reassurance. We couldn't ask for a better team to look after Mum so we say a huge thanks and gratitude for all you have done and are doing. We also recognise the sacrifices you have had to make with your families and loves ones to look after our mum. We salute you.
We really appreciate the feedback from the families and friends of our residents, therefore it is always nice to hear from them, feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after.
I honestly can’t put into words just how amazing they are. BUPA are blessed! Thanks to team Chestnut Lodge I have a relationship back with my mum, which had been lost over the years of caring, I can’t thank them enough for that, I truly can’t.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. We really appreciate your praise.
My friend was a resident at Elm Grove Care Home from September 2018 to January 2020 when she passed away. She was always treated with great dignity and care. I have no negative feelings regarding the care she received.
Thank you for such kind comments. We are very saddened about the loss of your friend. Hopefully, you can go away from this feeling like she received the best possible care.
The staff at Elm Grove were fantastic. Our mum was only there for a few days but we really cannot fault the care that she received and we are deeply grateful that her last few days were so tranquil, personal and private. Thank you again for taking such good care of her.
We are very saddened to hear about your loss. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you or your family.
My mother was transferred to Elm Grove Care Home after spending a little over two months in hospital with what began as a urine infection. My mother was 96 years old. She went to Elm Grove on 22nd October 2018 and passed away quietly in her sleep on October 30th 2018. During her short stay, she received incredible care. Thank you to the staff at Elm Grove, especially to two certain nurses.
Thank you for your review of Elm Grove Care Home. We are pleased to hear that you have had a positive experience with the home and appreciate your comments regarding the care your mum received from the staff. We will share your comments with the home manager. Our deepest sympathies, the Bupa Customer Care Team.

Meet the Team (6)

Hi, I am Kim, the home manager at Elm Grove. I started my caring career at Elm Grove 18 years ago and subsequently transferred to Ashley House. In 2025, I came back to Elm Grove as home manager.
I am a very proud mum of one- Amelia, who is 6. I love going on holidays with my husband, Garrick, and Amelia. When that’s not possible, a cold G&T does the trick.

I'm Kelly, the senior activities co-ordinator at Elm Grove. I have worked here since 2022.
I love organising events and activities for our residents. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to bring smiles to our residents' faces. Seeing them smile brings me so much happiness.
I live in Cirencester with my husband, Bruce and 4 children, Ryan, Charlie, Harry and Ellie-May. We have 2 cats, Bonnie and DJ and a dog, Finley.
In my spare time, I love to do things with my family. I play darts and skittles for a family team. I also love doing crafts and making things.

I’m Ian, the chef manager at Elm Grove. I’ve worked for Bupa for just over 7 years now and am very passionate about “inclusivity not exclusivity”, so no one misses out regardless of their dietary needs.
I live just outside of Cirencester with my wife Sophie, daughter Felicity and cat Max. In my spare time, I enjoy family days out, gardening and Sudoku.

I'm Trudi, the head housekeeper at Elm Grove. I have worked here for 18 years.
I love interacting with the residents, and I'm always happy to have a little help from them.
I have a partner, Kev and a daughter, Jess. I live with Colin the dog, Pedro the cat and Fernando the royal python.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing darts and going to rock concerts. I'm also studying for a degree in psychology and counselling.

My name is Mukhtar Muhammad, and I am a senior carer at Elm Grove Care Home. It is here that I found my passion for care, and I truly feel privileged to work in a field where I can support our residents and their relatives while continuing to grow as a professional. I also feel very honoured to serve as a diversity and inclusivity champion, where I focus on fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our team. I have been fortunate to learn from, and continue to learn from, an exceptional nursing team and supportive colleagues. Beyond my care role, my passion for archaeology and history drives my curiosity about how past events shape the present. This connection inspires me to contribute to making the world a better place.

I'm Dan, the maintenance operative. I have been working at Elm Grove since 2023, and I love working with the team and making a difference for the residents. Since being with Bupa, I have had a big input on the building changes and remodelling of the home, as well as turning previously unused spaces into wonderful places for our residents to enjoy.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my fiancée, Leanne and our two boys, Lucas and Arthur. I also play football for a local team and darts for my family team, whilst still finding time to attend my rock festivals.
