Everyone is so kind there, including reception staff and office staff.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and staff.
My mother was at Elm Grove for over 2 years, she sadly passed away 7th January 2018. During her stay, I can honestly say the care and love given to her and the family was exceptional. It was mum's 2nd home. The activities for the residents was great and we were always invited to attend. Although it was tough leaving we were comforted, that great care was given to mum. We were lucky to find a truly special place.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and kind words. I hope that it gives you comfort knowing that your mum was safe and well cared for.
I am more than happy with the care for my mum, she has improved a lot since being in Elm Grove. The carers and staff are all on hand to talk to if you have any concerns. Very clean and tidy home and nothing is too much trouble. Mum is always smiling and well dressed and clean when I visit. Thank you all.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that your mum's health has improved and that she is happy. I hope this gives you peace of mind knowing that she is safe and well cared for.
It's difficult to know how to thank all the staff at Elm Grove. So many of the carers have been there since my mum arrived 7 years ago. Their patience is amazing, the love they show and the respect when moving from chair to hoist is amazing. How can you show your thanks individually? Only by telling you that as a company, it's a well-run ship!

The communal living areas are spacious and there are always activities to provide interest and stimulation. The staff are polite, helpful and caring towards the residents. The home is local to us, so visiting is easy and we are always made to feel welcome. We are very happy with BUPA Chestnut Lodge.

Excellent. Very friendly, capable staff.
My husband and I celebrated our 65th wedding anniversary with an excellent tea party, beautifully laid out on Tuesday 17th July 2017. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your 65th Wedding Anniversary and I'm sure that the staff enjoyed celebrating with you both.
Very good care to patient. Very good food.

I can not fault their dedication and kindness given to making her life so pleasant and meaningful. Dementia is a horrid illness and very frightening at times, but all the staff make mum feel loved, safe and happy.
A big thank you from myself and all her family. You have taken the worry from our shoulders and given us joy.
Thank you for your review. It is so nice to know that you feel like this about our staff and that your Mum is happy, safe and loved.
If I or my daughters has a query, it was always dealt with quickly and with it, seemed to be without any trouble to the staff, so helpful and kind always.
Treated his death and worked with undertakers most kindly and with great dignity and respect. Thank you.

I have had contact with Elm Grove Care Home since 2002. I have been impressed by consistently high standards of care provided. My mother was happy and well looked after the last two years of her life. The staff were friendly, helpful, gentle and caring. As a friend to several residents since I observed the same standard of care for them over the years. In 2016 my husband received excellent palliative care for his final weeks of life. It was such a blessing to know that he was in capable and caring hands. The staff were a wonderful support for me too.
Thank you for sharing your lovely feedback with us, we really appreciate it. I am so pleased that you are continually impressed by our staff and the standard of Elm Grove, and that they provided care and support for both you and your mother. I will pass on your kind words to the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
Mum has dementia and relies on continual nursing care. She is treated with a great deal of care and attention to her welfare. Staff have got to know Mum and her preferences - even down to her favourite biscuits - and show a genuine interest in the rest of the family. Mum no longer takes part in activities - thus unable to give higher assessment.

Not much variety and not much choice. Drinks are sometimes cold.
The fees are very expensive and do not give value for money.
Thank you for your review. Your comments are extremely important to us and key to the services we provide. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve the areas you have highlighted.

My father has been in the home for 18 months and has been well cared for. His health has improved considerably due to entirely to the efforts of the staff. He is given the opportunity to participate in activities and encourage to socialise. The staff are friendly and attentive we are always offered a cup of tea when we visit. The only downside is the laundry! sadly items go missing on a frequent basis!

Meet the Team (6)

Hi, I am Kim, the home manager at Elm Grove. I started my caring career at Elm Grove 18 years ago and subsequently transferred to Ashley House. In 2025, I came back to Elm Grove as home manager.
I am a very proud mum of one- Amelia, who is 6. I love going on holidays with my husband, Garrick, and Amelia. When that’s not possible, a cold G&T does the trick.

I'm Kelly, the senior activities co-ordinator at Elm Grove. I have worked here since 2022.
I love organising events and activities for our residents. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to bring smiles to our residents' faces. Seeing them smile brings me so much happiness.
I live in Cirencester with my husband, Bruce and 4 children, Ryan, Charlie, Harry and Ellie-May. We have 2 cats, Bonnie and DJ and a dog, Finley.
In my spare time, I love to do things with my family. I play darts and skittles for a family team. I also love doing crafts and making things.

I’m Ian, the chef manager at Elm Grove. I’ve worked for Bupa for just over 7 years now and am very passionate about “inclusivity not exclusivity”, so no one misses out regardless of their dietary needs.
I live just outside of Cirencester with my wife Sophie, daughter Felicity and cat Max. In my spare time, I enjoy family days out, gardening and Sudoku.

I'm Trudi, the head housekeeper at Elm Grove. I have worked here for 18 years.
I love interacting with the residents, and I'm always happy to have a little help from them.
I have a partner, Kev and a daughter, Jess. I live with Colin the dog, Pedro the cat and Fernando the royal python.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing darts and going to rock concerts. I'm also studying for a degree in psychology and counselling.

My name is Mukhtar Muhammad, and I am a senior carer at Elm Grove Care Home. It is here that I found my passion for care, and I truly feel privileged to work in a field where I can support our residents and their relatives while continuing to grow as a professional. I also feel very honoured to serve as a diversity and inclusivity champion, where I focus on fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our team. I have been fortunate to learn from, and continue to learn from, an exceptional nursing team and supportive colleagues. Beyond my care role, my passion for archaeology and history drives my curiosity about how past events shape the present. This connection inspires me to contribute to making the world a better place.

I'm Dan, the maintenance operative. I have been working at Elm Grove since 2023, and I love working with the team and making a difference for the residents. Since being with Bupa, I have had a big input on the building changes and remodelling of the home, as well as turning previously unused spaces into wonderful places for our residents to enjoy.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my fiancée, Leanne and our two boys, Lucas and Arthur. I also play football for a local team and darts for my family team, whilst still finding time to attend my rock festivals.
