The Hollies is set in a beautiful location, with various buildings and apartments to suit the needs of those it serves. I was very impressed with the high standard of decoration and cleanliness and felt as if I were staying in a luxurious hotel with stunning grounds and view. But this would be nothing without the excellent nursing and caring staff who are second to none. I can't praise them enough. I would be very happy to come here again should the need arise. Every person who lives here is treated with dignity and respect and the atmosphere is one of family. It is friendly and a happy place to be in - just right for any who need the special care that is needed after an operation and aids in recovery in every way, as you rest and receive their tender, love and care.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will pass on your kind comments on to our staff. It was a joy to have you here with us while you recovered from your operation. We hope that you are settling well at home after your stay with us and wish you all the best for the future.

The care given to Dad for the last months of his life was outstanding. Every member of the team contributed to his well-being and comfort. Everyone knew his name. I was so impressed with the whole ethos of The Hollies. The kindness and support our family experienced was above and beyond. The registered manager and the head of clinical care were awesome from the beginning. The rooms are spacious and some with decking too. All are ensuite. Freshly painted for arrival. The nursing care given was exceptional. Special thanks to you all.

My mum was looking into respite care for post-op recovery and found The Hollies. She was really impressed with the staff, in particular their medical knowledge and attention to detail. Mum only intended to stay for a few weeks, but sadly received a terminal diagnosis, so her stay at The Hollies became permanent. We had many chats about Mum potentially moving back home, but she was adamant about staying at The Hollies as she felt so comfortable there. I was particularly impressed by the continuity of care; all the staff got to know my mum very well and she really enjoyed chatting with them every day. For me that was so reassuring, as I knew that Mum was seeing the same faces every day and every staff member was up to date with regards to her care plan/medication etc. After every visit, I left knowing that my Mum was in very safe hands. I felt very supported during my mum's last few days and I was able to stay in the neighbouring room which meant I was there for the precious final few hours.

Thank you for your review and I have passed this on to our staff as your kind comments have touched all of our hearts. Your mother is missed dearly by all departments of The Hollies. Mum and Dad moved into The Hollies in December 2020 and lived there for just over 2 and 3 years respectively. The care they were given was exceptional - the staff showed them enormous kindness and respect, and we felt wonderfully supported as a family. Nothing was too much trouble, and when Mum died, Dad was looked after with love and compassion which helped him cope at a really difficult time. We know that moving them to The Hollies was the best decision we could have made - they couldn't have asked for better care.

A very distressing visit. Advised that 2 hourly medication for pain relief arrived after 6 hours. Missing meals arriving very late. Bed made at 3.30 pm on the day I visited at my request. Very sad lack of care, depending on staff who understand somebody's 'state' when suffering from severe pain.

Both my parents became residents at The Hollies Care Centre, my mother at Holly Oaks and my father at The Hollies. We can not thank the staff enough for the excellent care they were both given during this time. From the first visit to arrange care for my mother, the team were welcoming and friendly, Dad then joined her a few months later, when Mum sadly passed away they supported all of us, going above and beyond by moving Dad in with Mum at this precious time and supporting him afterwards. Dad had a further happy year at The Hollies where he enjoyed the activities and trips out and made many friends. Dad was well looked after in the week leading up to his death and again, the team supported all the family. A big thank you for looking after both so well.

My father became a resident here after becoming severely ill and was unable to care for himself presenting with complex needs. The Management and staff were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable and highly trained. My father received exemplary care from the get-go until he sadly passed away. The home is modern and finished to a high standard and extremely clean. The food is absolutely beautiful and has a great variety. And the grounds and views are second to none.

My father has been a resident at The Hollies for a few months now, and I (and my family) are very happy with the excellent care he receives. All the staff that we have come into contact with, from all areas of the home, are friendly, helpful, and extremely caring. It is great to be able to visit at any time as there are no restrictions. The room is lovely, and there is a good choice of vegetarian food, which always looks very appetising. There are a range of activities on a daily basis and really well-organised special events that friends and family can attend, which Dad has enjoyed. It is a very stressful time moving a loved one into a care home, but the staff were so helpful and supportive to us, and we felt very lucky to have such a lovely home nearby for Dad. A big thank you to everyone at The Hollies for looking after Dad so well.

As a family, we couldn’t speak more highly of The Hollies and the exceptional love and care they demonstrated not only to our mum but to each and every member of the family and her friends. We feel incredibly lucky to have been able to have Mum looked after so beautifully. The staff are really special, kind-hearted individuals and made a home away from home for all of us. The dignity and respect which every member of staff displayed was over and above, we were really touched by the genuine care of every person we met. We received excellent medical support and enjoyed a fantastic coronation weekend and Christmas Day - all of which helped to make really special memories for us.

I cannot express too highly the care that my partner has received since moving to The Hollies Care Home. Deciding to move a loved one into care is a heartbreaking decision. However, not only have all the staff treated him with love but have also supported me, for which I am so grateful. He is content, what more can I say?

Our friend has been a resident at The Hollies Care Centre for over a year now and during that time I have been very impressed with the level of care and facilities available to residents. The staff are excellent and genuinely strive to ensure that residents are happy and healthy. The range of activities is amazing and our friend has had the opportunity to enjoy many new adventures and experiences. The recent Coronation party for residents, their families and friends was outstanding.

This is an exceptionally good care home that feels like a home.

The rooms are nicer than average, the food is very good and there are lots and lots of activities going on all week. Mum comments on the lack of staff/lack of consistency at times but in my opinion, this is normal in care homes at the moment and better than some/no worse than most. Laundry is an issue with items getting lost, but again that's standard. What was exceptional was the support we all got when my dad died, truly amazing, from beginning to end, we felt part of a larger family and we will always be grateful for that.

In August 2022, my husband and I became residents. My husband's room was small but compact. My room was much larger, which enabled us to spend time together and have our meals at the table. Sadly, my husband's condition became worse and he passed away in October 2022. It was a very distressing time but an understanding carer would sit with me, talk and give me a hug. I was able to have a carer at the funeral. I am now beginning to move forward and meet other residents and join in the every day activities. I have a television and telephone in my room, a professional hairdresser and chiropodist are available. My laundry is done and my room is cleaned. I am truly well taken care of by all the day and night staff.

Since my friend and her sister moved into The Hollies Care Centre, the office staff, nurses and carers have all been fantastic. My friends are safe, secure and so well looked after, so much better than being at home on their own. The facilities, care, activities etc are superb and everyone is so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. At both 86 years old, it's a shame my friends didn't move here a few years ago. It's fantastic.
