The Hollies Care Centre in Dursley is comprised of The Hollies nursing care home and Holly Oak dementia care home. Here the dedicated teams provide round the clock residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis, as well as compassionate end of life care.

The well-trained teams create a welcoming environment and deliver family-like care to all residents. The purpose-built home has 58 en-suite bedrooms. There are also two luxurious garden suites that offer even more space and privacy.

Each resident is assigned their own key caregiver who is personally responsible for ensuring that tailored care plans are met and maintained. The team aim to create a caring and supportive community for residents, families and friends.

The Hollies is a ‘Veteran Friendly Framework’ accredited care home, recognising the best practice and highest standards of care for the Armed Forces community.

My mum was only at The Hollies for 2 days but from the moment she arrived to the moment she left she was treated with kindness, understanding and nothing was too much trouble.
The surroundings are fantastic, the staff amazing and I just wish my mum hadn't been so ill and could have enjoyed all that
The Hollies had to offer.
A wonderful home that I cannot recommend highly enough.

It was a big decision putting Mum in respite but we found The Hollies a caring, happy environment. It allowed the rest of the family to have a much-needed rest.

The room was very cosy and welcoming with a flower basket on arrival. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Someone visited us prior to the stay to assess needs and get to know my father in law.

Dad was a resident at The Hollies for 11 months. During that time it became like a second home for all the family. The care shown by the staff was amazing and we never doubted that was safe and well looked after.

All staff friendly, kind, helpful and able. Toileting facilities for leg amputees poor - suggest mobile commode with lifting arms. Adjustable beds in use but no bedbound facility to control room lights. Internet signal poor, weak, variable, unstable.

My mother was a resident at The Hollies for nearly 18 months. During this time she was well looked after and her medical needs were provided for. The resident activities were well planned (monthly activity list issued) with weekly trips. My mother particularly liked the dog show.

My mother became a resident at The Hollies nearly 11 years ago, shortly after they first opened. The care she received was faultless from the nurses to the kitchen staff. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and friendly on all floors. Her wish was to stay there until she passed away not
to go to a hospital. Sadly she left us on the 27th Jan, the support to us at that point was excellent and much appreciated.

My husband was in The Hollies for over 5 years.
In that time he has been treated well and cared for in a dignified way.
The staff built up a nice relationship with him and were very pleasant, compassionate and caring.

This care home was just perfect in every way. The staff were so caring and patient everyone always seems to have a smile. At the time of death, so much kindness and dignity was shown to myself and daughter, I shall never forget the final hours spent with my husband.

After much searching, The Hollies was the care home I chose originally for respite for my partner because I felt the staff (all levels) to be friendly and courteous to each other as well as the residents and the atmosphere was light and lively. My partner was treated with respect, his independence was
honoured and I felt that the staff really wanted to get to know him and understood his ways. The manager and senior nurses were so helpful to me as he settled in. He had a lovely room with a view which he came to love and think of as his home at the end of a corridor so he could play his music loudly! Great food, great nurturing care and every detail thought of for the dementia floor. Bright colours, light, stimulation. I'm very grateful to The Hollies.

My 93-year-old father came to The Hollies for respite care in September 2018 after several months in hospital and re-ablement. He has now returned home. The Hollies took care of all his needs but much more than that. Staff took the trouble to find out what he would like to do and provided encouragement
and companionship. They were not rushed and many of them had been with The Hollies for years. The management team always responded quickly to any query that I made. Meals were good in variety and choice. Accessible transport was made available to allow my father to visit friends at his sheltered accommodation. Upon returning home full-time, my father said that if he ever needed a high level of care, he would like it to be at The Hollies. I am certain that the individualised care and support from The Hollies was instrumental in his being able to return home. In short, I cannot fault their approach and would advise anyone considering a care home for a loved one to consider them.

Our dad came to the Hollies for end of life care, sadly he was only there for a few days and we all dearly wish we could have got him there sooner.
The moment he arrived and was welcomed so warmly, he visibly relaxed and seemed so much more peaceful.
We were all taken under their caring and sweet
wing felt looked after and were deeply appreciative of their attitude and professionalism.

I cannot praise the staff enough. The care they gave to my Mum during her final 3 months of her life was absolutely outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, the compassion they showed shone through, and as a family, we took great comfort knowing that she was happy and so well looked after in the final
months of her life. Throughout they made sure she always kept her dignity, and they also supported us, family. I/we would not hesitate to recommend The Hollies to anyone who was thinking of entrusting their loved ones to their care.

Caring, kind and thoughtful staff from the very first day.
There have been no doubts in my mind that my nan was cared for in this home in the best way she could have been.
Choosing a home was a very hard process and we looked at a lot before deciding on The Hollies.
The end of life care that was
given was fantastic, all of the staff ensured somebody was with my nan until family could be.
I've always felt the staff look after visitors as well as residents.

My mum was a short-term resident at The Hollies as she needed nursing/end of life care. I have experienced a few care homes with my mother-in-law's needs over the last 2 years and they have been very good, but at The Hollies I experienced a whole new level of care. It is, of course, a lovely building,
in a nice location, which is very fit for purpose (more like a hotel!) but it's the staff that are something else. From every member of staff we came across from the receptionist, nurses, care staff and catering we were treated with care and compassion I hadn't experienced before. From the tissues for tears, sympathy, cups of tea and cake it was so supportive and this was just for us family. Mum's care was wonderful too and it made such a difference to an unbearably difficult time.
After it was all over I meant to send a card to express all of this, but I have never done it. So this is my card of appreciation to all at The Hollies.

My mother decided to go in, in April. The care and all members of staff are excellent. They provide lots of love and TLC. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they all go above and beyond to make my mother feel like it's her own home. Family and friends are always welcome with tea and something is always
offered to eat. My mother only has to ask once and a member of staff are always available. I feel happy and relieved knowing my mother is in the best possible care.

The Hollies cared for my mother on many occasions. Eight years ago when she had her stroke they provided a holiday place when I was away. When she was in or returning from hospital they gave the care she needed to enable her to return home and finally, they gave a place of care and safety for her passing.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care and commitment given by ALL of the staff at The Hollies.

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
