The Hollies Care Centre in Dursley is comprised of The Hollies nursing care home and Holly Oak dementia care home. Here the dedicated teams provide round the clock residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis, as well as compassionate end of life care.

The well-trained teams create a welcoming environment and deliver family-like care to all residents. The purpose-built home has 58 en-suite bedrooms. There are also two luxurious garden suites that offer even more space and privacy.

Each resident is assigned their own key caregiver who is personally responsible for ensuring that tailored care plans are met and maintained. The team aim to create a caring and supportive community for residents, families and friends.

The Hollies is a ‘Veteran Friendly Framework’ accredited care home, recognising the best practice and highest standards of care for the Armed Forces community.

My mother stayed at The Hollies for two weeks to help her recovery. She found the stay very beneficial as convalescence and was comfortable in her lovely room. The staff were friendly and caring and she enjoyed the food and some social activities. She normally lives independently and it was a great

The Hollies is very comfortable and the staff are caring and friendly. There are activities twice a day and frequent trips out in the minibus. After the change in night staff at 7pm, the place is very quiet and often lonely. There are no evening activities (perhaps twice a week?). Overall, very good
although, there have been some issues with laundry.

Was in The Hollies care home for two weeks respite care following discharge from hospital with a fractured pelvis as a result of a fall. Although expensive, the care I received during my stay was quite good and my injury/state of health noticeably improved during my stay. The ambience in The Hollies
was quite relaxed and comfortable. My main criticism was that food was only barely warm, when served.

The Hollies provided a welcoming atmosphere and an exceptional standard of care, with a good ratio of staff to residents and very friendly, caring staff at all levels. I felt that Mum was in safe hands and that she was able to benefit considerably from her 2-week respite stay. Her stay was a great success
from her point of view also, in particular the range of activities on offer, interaction with other residents and the individual attention that she received. We will have no hesitation in arranging further respite stays.

I cannot fault the care and respect my mum received at The Hollies. Her room was always immaculate and staff knew how much music and song helped, so there was always an effort to include those activities. A couple of things got lost in translation but nothing serious. I'm very happy with the experience.

My mum went to the Hollies for eight days of emergency respite care. She was warmly welcomed and really appreciated the personal touches. For example, the attention to detail regarding her care needs, the lovely bouquet of flowers in her room and the visit from the chef to chat about her dietary likes
and dislikes. It was a pleasant experience for her and we would thoroughly recommend it. I had peace of mind that my mother was being well cared for.

His care was not only very professional but everyone from housekeeping to the manager was so patient, kind and cheerful. Mum stayed at The Hollies for just under three weeks for respite care, having heard that it was a good place to go. Her overriding impression was of the excellence of all the staff - their kindness, friendliness, capabilities and professionalism. She felt well cared for and safe, with a very good ratio
of staff to residents. The quality and choice of food was excellent. Mum had a very nice large room with an ensuite wetroom and a comfortable bed. Although there was a large window, the room had no outlook which could be a little claustrophobic but she made sure she got out and made good use of the communal room (although this was unfortunately closed for a few days during her stay for maintenance work). I felt entirely confident that she was safe and being well looked after. She felt well cared for, well fed and well rested - exactly how respite care should be.

The Hollies have provided my mum with a very good level of care since her admission, following a period of ill health. She has recently undergone a knee replacement operation and it was a great relief to my brother and myself that she would be returning from hospital to convalesce at the Hollies. Throughout
the consultation process before the operation, the operation itself and visits to the hospital for post-op checks, the Hollies have transported Mum to Bristol in the special transport on around six occasions. This has been greatly appreciated by us all, knowing that she was in safe hands. The head nurse has been extremely kind and helpful in keeping us notified about Mum's situation. Mum enjoys the quiz sessions organised by the entertainment team. She has also enjoyed watching a muntjac grazing on the hillside outside her room.

After looking at so many care homes, and none of them feeling quite right, we viewed The Hollies, and wow! It is set in a lovely area with stunning views. It is decorated to such a high standard; it feels more like a hotel! It is absolutely beautiful.
My nan is receiving such a high level of care
that is tailored to her needs. She takes part in many activities; there is always something to keep her entertained.
My nan's needs are quite complex, however, this was never an issue with The Hollies. Nothing is too much trouble. I ring most days to see how my nan is doing, and I can always get through to somebody, and they always have time to talk to me to update me on how she is. The staff are always friendly and helpful. One lady in the office went out of her way to ensure we were kept well informed and happy with everything during the time my nan transferring to The Hollies from the hospital. I was ringing her almost every day, and she was always available to put my mind at ease.

My aunt entered The Hollies in January from hospital following an operation. We had no previous experience of care homes, and the manager and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The admissions coordinator is lovely, and she helped us every step of the way, taking time to answer every
little query in a patient and friendly way. When Aunt moved in, she was made to feel so welcome and comfortable, and the staff made a big fuss of her. The hospitality manager visited her on the first day and noted down all her favourite dishes and likes and dislikes. My aunt is used to good service, and she cannot fault anything about The Hollies. The room is just like a 5-star hotel, and the food is amazing with a wide range of choice every day, with everything homemade and fresh. We were obviously concerned about the position on visiting, but this proved to run very smoothly and efficiently. We checked a lot of other homes before deciding on The Hollies. It's not cheap but by far the best.

We were extremely happy with all aspects of my fathers care at The Hollies, and would not hesitate to recommend it. The standards of clinical and personal care (including dignified end of life care) are very high. Care is always delivered with compassion, empathy and friendliness. Staff retention levels
seem good. The food and kitchen staff are excellent, with a wide variety of choice and flexibility. The kitchen is very good at catering for communal special occasions, such as Christmas, Burn's lunch and summer barbecues. There is a wide variety of activities on offer, including gardening, crafts and trips out. In summary, The Hollies gave my father three very happy years in a well-run, caring home.

The Hollies demonstrated extremely compassionate and skilled levels of care for both my mum and me. I was impressed at how individually all residents are treated and encouraged to leave their rooms and join in as appropriate. It is an extremely stable team of staff who develop excellent relationships
with the residents. Go the extra mile and ensure a caring and upbeat environment full of dignity, fun and kindness.

From the very first visit to The Hollies, it became very clear that nothing was too much trouble, be it how my partner wanted her accommodation decorated (the wallpaper at £60 a roll) to a specialist bed that was purchased from a hospice. Staff members would all comment about my partner's no-nonsense

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
