Richmond Villages Painswick is a luxurious boutique-style care home, situated at the heart of the Richmond Villages Painswick retirement village, with a range of facilities not normally found in a care home. The care home features a wellness spa with swimming pool, hydrotherapy plunge pool, steam room, spa treatment rooms, nail bar and hair salon, as well as a restaurant, several elegant lounges, cafe-bar, library, and activities room plus spacious grounds, landscaped gardens and panoramic views over Slad Valley and Cotswold countryside.

The 24-bed care home provides nursing and residential care in a beautifully-presented environment. All rooms are tastefully decorated by a team of specialist interior designers and feature electric profiling beds, a range of furniture, a TV, a telephone, en-suite wet room and WiFi access.

Residents at Richmond Villages Painswick are able to live a healthy and happy life in the very best environment with a dedicated and highly skilled care team onsite 24/7. The care team is supported by the hospitality team to provide delicious and nutritious meals, while the activities team provide a range of daily activities and day trips carefully designed to meet everyone's needs.

Stayed for a week for respite break and had a very relaxing time. All the staff we came in contact with were excellent and made us feel very welcome.

The care and attention I received from the staff at Richmond was superb. Recovering from a shoulder replacement I arrived at Richmond to a warm welcome and from the minute I stepped inside the door the staff were fantastic. Every member of staff always had a smile and ready to help.

I only stayed for 1 week's respite care at Richmond Painswick Village but I would highly recommend this care home to anyone wishing to spend a lovely time in a place to rest and recuperate for as long as they can. I wish I could have stayed for longer but hope to visit again.


Very comfortable, clean

and well managed. An unusual and lovely development among beautiful, peaceful scenery. I found the staff to be very kind and helpful also.

Richmond Painswick is a location to die for. Richmond Village does not detract from this. Staff were on hand to unload luggage and made us very welcome. Facilities in our suite were better than those we enjoyed at a five-star hotel we stayed at last month, including a floral basket and well-stocked
kitchen. An adjustable bed and armchair were provided for my disabled wife. The restaurant menu changed daily and the quality bettered the five-star hotel's, wi-fi access was available in the well-stocked library. We enjoyed an afternoon at the wellness spa and lovely pool.

We are both extremely impressed from the moment we arrived. We were there for one week only for a 'retreat'. Following a hospital stay for one of us and for 'respite' for the other (the carer). From the welcome we received and the respect with which we were treated by all the staff to the care taken
in all the little details provided to add to our comfort. We could not fault it. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were made very welcome and found the general atmosphere of the home to be happy and helpful. My husband needed extra care due to his lack of balance. This was always given willingly and it enabled us both to enjoy a few days free from the worries and responsibilities of running our own home while
in our 90's. (93 and 91) There was always an adequate choice of menu with well-cooked food. Thank you all at Richmond Painswick.

To write a balanced review, I shall start with the positive. On arrival, in July, my mother did need nursing care until her stitches and catheter were removed and this was dealt with very professionally. The carers were courteous and helpful throughout her 8-week stay. The physio team worked well with
her.


On the negative front, there was often only a ratio of 1 carer to 8 residents which resulted in my mother's buzzer for assistance often being left for more than 15 mins which is distressing for a deaf/blind 100-year-old lady whose mobility had been lost. There was virtually no 1 to 1 communication for her with the staff and there were no activities that were appropriate for her. Staff knew that she loved being outside in the open air, but she was very rarely taken out.

My stay at Painswick in June was a joy.
I was most impressed at how well I was looked after and the friendliness of the staff, as well as some of the permanent residents who would have known I was only there for a week.
As a keen gardener, I was impressed by the pathways, made an interesting walk.

Came here for a 'holiday with care', as the principal carer at home for my husband.
Though not 'ill' myself, I was not 'well'.
The staff could not have been more helpful, kind or caring.
Required a visit to local GP, all taken care of.
Did not really participate in activities.

My wife was looked after for two weeks whilst I was abroad on business. From the initial interview to arrange her care, through to her leaving for home, the help and assistance with everything was excellent. The staff could not have been more caring not helpful and I thank them all for being so kind
and attentive to our needs.

More than helpful to improve my health and with grateful thanks to all nursing staff and carers, they are excellent. All the staff in the home are so very kind and helpful and helped my recovery. Must be a new chef as the meals are excellent compared to Autumn 2016 where they were not up to standard.
I really enjoyed my stay and as a regular - I will be back!

If you are needing somewhere for respite care, or simply a very good quality place to stay, then I would certainly recommend Richmond Painswick. Located in the charming village of Painswick. Facilities are excellent and easily accessible to all, quality and choice of food very good. The staff (from
reception, administration to the restaurant) all most professional and eager to help in any way. A great place for a stress-free break.

My Husband and I along with my Sister and Brother-in-Law, stayed here from 30th March to 2nd April to celebrate me and my husband's Golden Wedding anniversary.
We were greeted very warmly by everyone and felt very welcome. All the staff in reception, restaurant, cleaners and especially carers for my
disabled husband were extremely helpful to us. We were given a beautiful basket of flowers and a bowl of fruit in each apartment and we even had cards for our anniversary.
The food was amazing with plenty of choices.
The pool and spa were very inviting (I could have sat in the spa all day - absolutely glorious).
