Resident was received with great dignity and needs considered. They had a clean, bright room with large windows to view Woodlands and wildlife. Room was very clean & bright and had all basic needs to help them settle in after being in Hospital, after that rehabilation centre and All staff were very welcoming to both resident and family members. We all very quickly felt part of Whittington House family.

The whole staffing team at Whittington House are fabulous! They are all professional, caring, friendly and supportive to both the resident and their family. Residents enjoy being with staff who have an encouraging manner to enable residents to access the many things on offer at the home, enjoy lovely meals, and receive considerate, professional care. The resident is the central focus of all they do. The resident rooms are bright and spacious, providing a private sanctuary when residents wish to rest or have time to themselves.

My father suffered from dementia and after having many falls we were advised by paramedics that he should go in a home. It is very daunting but when I visited the care home my worries ceased to exist. I was made to feel very welcome and the kindness that I was shown was very welcome. After dad went into the home he was well looked after and they understood his needs. As dad's dementia worsened they adapted to his decline and kept me informed with any health worries. The home treated my father and I with kindness and respect and were very patient always willing to have a chat.

Had problems when mum first came in, wouldn't settle and was quite poorly. She has had a fall, and promised a pressure mat, that was in October, still waiting, now February. I have noticed the difference in staff at weekends they are quite happy for her to lay in bed all day, its not until I visit they will get her up. Week staff great.

We are always trying to improve the care and service for each resident that lives at the Home, so we will be in contact with you very soon to discuss the issues raised below to rectify them and how we can meet your expectations in the future.
My relative has been a resident since October 2025. We had a few settling in difficulties but this last month has seen a great improvement in her involvement in activities and enjoyment in being a resident. The overall impression of the home is very good. All the staff are friendly and polite. Cleanliness is good. Sometimes I think the meal choices could be better but my relation seems to enjoy most meals. Communication from staff and management via email is good. We have not received a health update for a while but we can see that our relative is well and settled so no concerns.

The care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families is extremely important to us and we will ensure to meet your expectations in response to this review. The home is very welcoming. The main problem being that there are not enough staff. The staff there are marvelous - very caring and respectful. The quality of the food has gone down and is often cold. Rooms are not cleaned often enough. Activities are often cancelled with no notification. Rooms are in need of refurbishment.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Whittington House. I have recently reached out to you to address the concerns that were raised, if you have any other questions or concerns please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Dad has a very active mind still and finding the right activities for him when his mobility reduced has proved harder, but the management's and staff's commitment to Dad has been exceptional and never wavered.

Whittington House has been the perfect place for my relative to call home for the past 2 years. I feel they are cared about, kept active and dignity maintained. When I visit, the home is clean, tidy and homely and I'm always welcomed with open arms no matter the time of day. All staff I have encountered have been friendly and always greet me and acknowledge my presence even if just passing in the hall and they really genuinely appear to know my relative well. Any concerns I have had over the time, I've been proactively engaged with and I know they are open and transparent about issues arising. Thanks to Kirsty and her incredible team for providing not only a safe place to live but one that is caring and full to the brim of activities, visits from community members- including four footed ones! And trips out for coffee or walks where it's possible.

I find that Wittington Care Home is very warm and cosy, like walking into your own home every one, from carers, nurses, receptionists, cleaners, chefs, crafters, volunteers, maintenance, gardeners, and hairdressers, are all extremely helpful, friendly and approachable. I would recommend people I know to go there.

The whole team at Whittington House made my beloved Nan's last years very special. She was looked after wonderfully in every way. I felt at ease as soon as she moved in and that's down to the amazing staff. She was cared for mentally, medically, physically and most importantly emotionally. I would like to say a special thank you to Monika and Sarah as you were her favourite even with the dementia she knew you both and loved spending time with you.
Thank you, Emma, for your kind words and recognition of the team at Whittington House. We are sorry for your loss, and we are pleased that your Nan enjoyed spending time with Monika and Sarah. Your comments will be passed on to the team.

She is happy in the home and likes most of the staff.
Food sometimes a problem as she has difficulty in chewing, and sometimes there isn't a suitable alternative. For example; last visit I asked if she could have scrambled eggs but not available as ? No staff to cook.

From the beginning the carers have been attentive, smiling, helpful and so very kind.
As a daughter I am kept informed of any changes to mums condition, changes to medication and am given regular updates. Communication is first class.
Whittington House has been a godsend to mum and her family. It is excellent, and I thank everyone.

My Mum has been a resident at Whittington House for 6 months now and has settled in well, with the help of the kind, caring staff. We are generally very happy with Mum's care and also with the impressive range of meals that are on offer every day, but there are just a couple of niggling things that I would like to mention. The website for Whittington is very striking and we were impressed with the furnishings however these are very sad and aged and the general maintenance is poor, dusty air vents, broken furniture, dingy paintwork in places and most annoying, curtains hanging off rails and even a cornflake and old tape on the ceiling of the day room which has been there for at least as long as Mum has been a resident. Carers can often be found in the Day Room sitting amongst residents, focused on their phones instead of making conversation and encouraging the residents to chat. I would ideally like to see more investment in the Home considering the above average monthly costs
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about the team and the range of food we offer. With regards to our team being on their phones, our team are not permitted to have personal devices with them when they're working, but we do use...
She is very settled and happy there. Her room is good with a huge window looking onto the surrounding trees which she likes. The staff are always happy to talk and take time with her. I always feel welcome when visiting and have joined in with activities. It is lovely to know that she is well looked after and has plenty of company and activities to pass the days.
The office staff are very helpful and efficient too.
We would like to thank you for your words of kindness regarding your mother's care, and that you've found the team here helpful and efficient. All comments will be passed on to the team.
I always receive a warm welcome when I visit my wife and all the carers know my name. All the staff do a good job. They keep me informed about my wife's wellbeing. I have no complaints or suggestions for improvement. Car parking can be an isssue at times as can gaining access to the building at weekends.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about your wife's care and the team at Whittington House. Your feedback will be passed on.
On admission we informed the staff present of mum's needs, but we have found that these are not always regularly carried out. We also feel that the room could be vacuumed more regularly. We have found all the staff very welcoming and caring.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about the team, the care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families is extremely important to us, we will reach out to you and discuss your concerns. Whereas I'm somewhat resigned to her condition being unlikely to improve radically, I have been really encouraged by her response to the excellent care she has received: she invariably greets staff and fellow residents with a smile and some staff appear to recognise some of the facial expressions she uses to communicate. I am able on a daily basis to take her to her room where I can try various means of eliciting responses/ recognition from her. Eg music (she was a professional musician), photos and familiar scenes/ images from her past. She is always clean and usually dressed appropriately. She appears to eat very well and any issues I've had are invariably answered/ dealt with promptly. All in all our joint experience at Whittington has been of a high standard.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words and recognition of the team at Whittington House. The care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families is extremely important to us and your comments align fantastically with this. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
Always very communicative, Always let us know what's going on. Lovely care home and staff. Very reassuring to know mum is safe and well. We can visit when we like and are always very warmly welcomed by the member of staff on reception.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about the care your mother is receiving and recognition of the team at Whittington House. Your feedback has been passed on.
