Hello, my name is David, and I am the General Manager at West Abbey.

I have over 12 years’ experience in the care sector in England, working across both nursing and residential settings, with a strong focus on dementia care, including complex dementia and high-acuity nursing needs. Throughout my career, I have developed a clear focus on quality, team development, and creating positive and person-centred environments. I have been proud to contribute to achieving Outstanding as Head of Care, and more recently to achieving Gold Standards Framework accreditation, recognising high-quality end-of-life care.

I am passionate about building strong, supportive teams and working closely with residents, families, and professionals. One of my key focuses is creating a real sense of community within the home, where people feel valued, respected, and truly at home. I am particularly driven by achieving positive outcomes for residents and their families, while supporting staff to grow and develop into confident leaders.

For me, it’s about the small details, ensuring high standards of care, creating meaningful daily experiences, and delivering consistency across the home.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the UK and its beautiful villages, spending time with my children, and watching professional cycling.

I have worked in healthcare for 20 years and have been a registered nurse for 14 of them. I am passionate about Private Sector Care and have always loved the work I do. I am lucky that I look forward to coming to work every day.

I am originally from Somerset, and my nursing career has allowed me to live in different parts of the country before recently returning home. I am very excited to be part of the West Abbey Team and work with some amazing people.

Hi, I’m Dani, I started working at West Abbey in 2005 as a Unit Head and have progressed to Clinical Lead. I am happy to be a part of an amazing team that delivers the highest level of care to those they support. In my free time, I like football, running and music.

Hello, my name is Dovile and I am proud to say I am the Administrator here at West Abbey Care Home. I have worked within the care industry for nearly 20 years and have found a passion for working with the admin sector. I really enjoy being able to help everyone and I look forward to welcoming existing and new families to our home. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my son.

Hello! My name is Holly and I am happy to introduce myself as the Head of the Lyde Community here at West Abbey which specialises in dementia care. Having recently joined the team I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the relatives and residents, it is such a great environment. I have been working within the nursing industry for nearly 10 years now including other care homes and being a part of the district nursing teams.

In my spare time, I enjoy keeping active and taking part in adventurous activities!

Hi, I’m Louis. I have been working at West Abbey since 2007. I really ensure the home is presented to the highest standard and support residents with any personalisations to their rooms. In my spare time, I enjoy sightseeing and most of all my PlayStation.

Hi, my name is Andy, I have worked in catering for 15 years and have been here at West Abbey for over 10 years. I am a Level 3 Qualified Production Chef and take delight in cooking and providing good food for my residents, colleagues and family during my days off!

Hi, I'm Nikki and I originally came to work at West Abbey in 2018 and have worked in various roles supporting our residents.

What I enjoy about my job is that no two days are the same and most of all, I thoroughly enjoy everyday activities with the residents including 1-2-1 room visits all the way to professional singers visiting us. A firm favourite of mine and the residents at West Abbey is using our mini-bus weekly and visiting local nature hot spots! I look forward to welcoming you to our home.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and spending quality time with my family and friends.
